Sub. Arrow or Dagger?

First time trying out halberd. Unsure whether dagger or arrow gives more damage. Also what is punish ray used for?

 

Dagger for sure.
Some dagger give u good stats like cr5 or cd3%.
Dagger have 100%chance to slow down the target(Arrow like 90%)
- That slow down is needed to increase the dmg of strike stab.
After u cast punish ray the next skill will have 100%cr.And it increase dmg from strike stab like 10% (Maybe it increase stability too, not sure)

 

But arrow has that snipe skill. Will it not be able to deal as much damage?

 

It's honestly depend on what suits your playstyle. Dagger suits halberd best because it's easy to use in combo and do not need too much skill point invested. I'm not familiar with arrow but I know of ONE person who use arrow as halberd sub. It's Dang powerful but then again their main chara use bow so she definitely more familiar with it. I'll ask if I met her.

 

Arrow doesnt have 100% inflict rate but it has 10% stability by para shot (recently proven) which can make their dps higher than dagger sub for certain instances.
Both have their individual pros and cons.
I have made both in the past just go for any sub I have plenty of build ideas if you want. ^^

 

Sure with arrow u can use snipe but its up to u if u want a 10sec combo..

 

idk because my halberd character sucked, but...

arrows allow you to gain elemental capabilities <-they don't
the alternative (for elements) would be having to buy 6 elemental halberds .___.

 

Elements on arrow dont work on halberd sadly.

If its just strike stab then arrow halberd will win in a long run as they will get 10% stability boost by para shot, its just their low resistance and high aggro gets them killed while spamming.

 

So if the chara has high HP, arrow halberd will make a good tank?

 

Halberd has long normal attack animation so useless to use it as tank.U could use 1h+arrow then u could use ragesword to gain even more aggro
