I have received several enquiries about the Support and Healer role, which is part of my War Priestess build.
Here is a summarised guide, reproducing and compiling posts I've written in several threads.

    What is a Support?
Support is a role which looks after the party's performance, status and health and debuffs the enemy.

    What are its main responsibilities?
Support covers 3 categories and very much describes what that role's responsibilities/functions are:
    1. Buffs - Improves performance, reduces damage taken by party, protects and immunizes against status ailments (For party or single member)
    2. Debuffs - Reduces mobs' and boss' performance, lowers resistance and defences and inflict status ailments
    3. Heals & Recovery - Heals HP and recovers from status ailments (For you and your party)

What expectations are there for a Support?
    1. Characteristics and basic requirements for a good Support:
    • Be willing and ready to stay behind the lines to
      • get away from danger (unless he/she can Tank as well)
      • get a good bird's eye view of the whole battle field when needed
    • Have a clear, sharp strategic mind for quick and accurate decision-making.
    2. Buff all party members, especially the Tank
    3. Heal party members and sustain their hp above a certain level (say, above 60%)
    4. In the event that more than 1 party members' hp drop to critical levels, eg 40%, he/she is to make quick & accurate decisions on who to heal first
    5. When party member(s) get hit by status ailment(s), he/she is to cast Recovery to remove the ailment(s)

    TL;DR:
    • Improve party's performance, defenses and mitigate damages via Buffs
    • Keep party's performance in good state by removing status ailments
    • Heal and sustain party's HP level at all times

Where can skills from the 3 categories be found and what do they do?
These skills can be found in:
    1. Blade Skill Tree- Warcry (Buff, increases party's p.atk by 10% + removes status ailment Fear)
    2. Priest Skill Tree - Top branch: Bless (Heals over time), Gloria (Guard Rate, Physical & Magic Def buff)
    3. Support Skill Tree - All Skills. 3 of the most useful skills are Mini Heal, Recovery & Sanctuary
    4. Shield Skill Tree - Protection (Physical Resistance Buff), Aegis (Magic Resistance Buff), Guardian (Guard Rate & Damage Reduction buff, but high aggro)
    5. Shot Skill Tree (Using Bow/Arrow) - Snipe (Guard Break), Moeba (Slow), Paralysis (Paralyse), Smoke Dust (Blind)
    6. Dagger Skill Tree - Spike Dart (Slow), Poison Dagger (Poison)
    7. Magic Skill Tree - *Javelin (Freeze, Ignite), *Blast (Freeze, Ignite)
    *Ailment depends on element equipped
    8. Dual Sword - Spinning Slash (Blind), Phantom Slash (Freeze)

Tips and things to take note of:
    1. You may need to equip yourself with breaking skills, such as tumble or stun, to make time for strategic retreats.
    This is optional.

    2. Always buff the party to mitigate damages. Also cast Recovery on party mate who gets inflicted with ailments such as Ignite, Freeze and Poison.
This will help you save lots of mp from doing lots of healing in the long run.

    3. Keep to using low or 100 mp combos to preserve your precious MP pool.
Bless consumes 100mp and heals the whole party.
Mini Heals consumes 100mp and heals only 1 character.
Use Bless in combo to prevent party's HP from dropping to 40%.
Use Mini Heal on individual party member who hits critical level, with priority given to Tank.
Choose wisely which healing skill to cast.

    4. Put more focus on healing when party mate's HP drops to 60% and below, or when party members are taking damages very often/fast.

    5. Watch this anime Hai to Gensou no Grimgar Episode 6 (from 18 min onwards). This will help you to understand
why a Support/Healer should always keep MP at healthy levels for critical heals and recovery.

    6. I'll leave my spreadsheet images of Heal Amount Projection for reference
Note: Bless at skill level 10 is constant at ~110 HP per tick (5 ticks total) at ~900-1000 m.atk with staff equipped.
    • Formula for Bless: (60 base at lvl 10) + (1 for every 20 Int) + (1 for every 25 m.atk)
    • Formula for Mini Heal: (300 base at lvl 10) + (10% MaxHP of receiver)
