I know there's guides for tanks of high level, I have seen those. But what about for lower level tanks that can't go full vitality yet because we need damage to kill normal mobs to gain levels?

My main question is, is there a ratio I can use for stat distribution? Currently I am splitting my points in half so about 75 vit and 75 Dex and Level 63.

Another question is gear. Is there certain gear I should go for specifically for farming mins faster? Current gear is:
Brutal dragon armor (farming scrader for brigantine armor ATM)
Ooze shield (going for dark generals shield after brigandine)
    Jiangshi hat thing
    Dark warrior bangle
    Toy hammer for tanking
    Leve fang for farming

    Any help is much appreciated!

How my main (1h shield) 'tank' started out was full DEX, and resist gear. That hp boost is worth maxing too. Another key skill to keep you alive is mini heal. When maxed it can heal a good portion back... but you have to find the right opportunity to use it (and not get interrupted).

Back then i was also more focussed on interrupting bosses (flinch + stun) to prevent the big AOEs, which further helps to keep you alive. For boss results, i used to mostly get breaker and tank ranks before i hit lvl 70.

For your current tank, i think aim to invest in resist gears and push for 70 for the lvl 3 weapon skills. After that, its pretty easy to get another char up to lvl 70 and you can restart your tank again without needing to waste any re-stat or reset books.

For DPS i have a 'crit mode', using (custom) crit sword and arm, with crit add (gothic hat) and crit shield (vulcan - has to be farmed though).
For tanking, you can have toy hammer with resists gears, and some investment into ASPD.
At some turnover point, you can also safely tank with 'crit mode' too. xD
I also think 75 vit is a good enough until level 145/150

Thank you for the replies folks! Currently I will sit at 75 vit and pump the rest into Dex. Brigandine drop from Scrader boss is being a butthead and hasn't dropped for me in a week... But hopefully soon I will get it.

No worries and good luck! FYI - It was actually proved in an older post that npc craft brig was better. I think the difference was 400 hp compared to 5% resist, and stacking resistance is better at handling bosses that apply burning ailment.

No, only yourself. Farm the boss materials and get it made by the blacksmith in town

Ok I just hit 70. And I tried to build it but it's not available. Do I need to buy a level of crafting skill? Or do I have to craft a shyt ton of stuff to get the level high enough?

Hmm maybe you need to progress further in MQ for more recipes to open up?
