The uniqueness of Spinning Slash

    Hello guys just wanted to post a couple of videos on some cool things i have found with Spinning Slash.

    In this first video i did a combo without Spinning Slash to show how much damage the skill in that combo did. Then i changed the combo i was using, I removed a skill and replaced it with Spinning Slash. The skills in that combo after spinning slash had did more damge then the one without Spinning Slash. (I cut the demonstration of the first combo short cuase killing ms would of took too long and the skills proration wasnt remaining steady and i didnt want to video to be too lengthy)

    *Notice i use normal attack 8 times before using any of the combos and then after using the combos i attack 2 times to try and >>keep the proration for skill attacks steady<< (this was much easier to do with the combo containing spinning slash)


    In this other video i spammed Spinning Slash to see how it affect the proration. When you spam other skills thier damage decrease overtime, but when you spam spinning slash its damage just keeps increasing. It stops when it reach its max after a certain point. It upped the proration of skill attacks as seen in the pervious video.
    (In the pervious video with a mixture of normal attack i was able to keep the combo with Spinning Slash in it, damage consistent and it didnt dropped much, BUT with the first combo the one without spinning slash the skills damge in that combo dropped an it was much harder to keep the damage consistent.)

    this was already discussed before as to how spin's multiple hits after the initial prorates. Its considered as a different type of damage apart from the initial hit being physical.

    Although it behaves the same as Tempest where There is an initial hit, and dps ticks after the initial.
    Tempest does not prorate the same way as Spinning Slash.

    Aw i didnt know it was discussed already thought i was on to something lol. How come many dont know about this yet? When i mention it to my friends or Duals inquiring about my combos, they never knew about it, its as if its something new to them.

    U have to continuously advertise it to make the mass know about it, were all lazy in our own rights and searching for info seems to be boring for many players , someone has to spread the word:rolleyes:

    ^most just copy builds without knowing the essence of the build.and why the combos are built like they are.
    Some people here like bk szchev and knightcrow know of this.
    And some of the people i play with know of this as i serve as a breaker tank prorator in pts with my dw occasionally taking attacker.

    SO, me and Aya decided to test the inner workings of Spinning Slash, and here's what we discovered:
    - Spinning Slash is weird; when the skill hits, it is counted as a Physical skill for damage calculation but is counted as a Magic skill for proration.
    - Both the spin and the tornado behave this way, but it cannot prorate more than once (like Storm or Tempest).
    Not only this skill defies the laws of proration, but it also lets you auto cancel. Very underrated indeed.

    Can you make a video on Spinning Slash, and Sword Tempest (like in my first video, make sure the combos are the same and keep the amount of normal attacks you do the same as well so that there is no variables).
    *update*
    i spammed sword tempest and it does the same thing as spinning slash. The damage increased every time i spammed it (i only focused on the 1st hit, the following hits of sword tempest are about half of the damage of the first hit). On my lvl 10 test character, Tempest on the 1st hit the 1st time did 2400, the 1st hit the 2nd time did 3600, the 1st hit the 3rd time did 4700 after at Miracle Potum was dead. lol

    I mean, sure, but I don't know what you want me to test or prove with that video. Can you tell me the exact specifics of what you want me to test?

    I think when u spam spin slash the reason y it keeps increasing cuz the tics r prorating for u since the initail hit is counted as physical and the ticks are counted other than patk.. Thats the reason y its increasing.. Try puting patk skill on ur combo dont just spam spin it will remain the same..

    Same for tempest ticks did the trick ajd im sure ur doing auto atk at that point ;) try understandin the concept of the skill and how it works..

    Im not really focus on Tempest just wanted to see if it did something simliar spinning slash. Im more focus on spinning slash. Dont want the thread to go off topic, but thanks

    Ok so I wanna reveal something about this skill, something I already tested for like a couple of months ago, this test is also the main reason why I focused so much on utilizing spinning slash and ended up abusing my little quick combo called gemini combo (Spinning slash > Shadowstep save > Trigger slash swift) so I tested spinning slash in Jade raptor's eggs that time (you can freely try it too if you want) so I initiated the spinning slash and made sure that either one of 'em will get hit by the initial + 15 ticks of spinning slash, I focused my eyes on just one egg just to isolate the effect and I notice that the ticks behaves like this:

    (Initial hit was not included in my test, only how the ticks behaves.)
    1st: 0
    2nd: 0
    3rd: 0
    4th: 1 (It hits! a sign of proration.)
    5th: 0
    6th: 0
    7th: 0
    8th: 1 (second time!)
    9th: 0
    10th: 0
    11th: 0
    12th: 1 (3x proration made by just 1 skill? how's that?)
    13th: 0
    14th: 0
    15th: 0

    So as you can see, it can prorate 3x by just the ticks itself, also, I noticed that Spinning slash's ticks behaves how holy fist does but in reverse, it scales off of your physical damage (not Magical damage), behaves just like another physical damaging skill but is considered as magical damage proration wise. this is the reason why spamming it back and forth while doing some 1x to 2x auto attack cancellation makes spinning slash increase its damage output gradually. as we all know, magic damage prorates harder than physical damage. (Hi there Magic: Impact!.) Imagine having it 3x in a skill that behaves in reverse, It's just you to figure it out.

    tho the initial itself behaves just like another physical damage skills proration wise, the counter proration that the initial hit can give doesn't stop the skill itself to increase the damage output generation that the ticks provides.

    (I know it's a little bit confusing at first, @Cypherian knew this that's why he is so different that most of the Dual Wielders that I saw in this toram world. only few knows, only few cares, but onces someone get a grasp of it, mastered it, live with it, they will scale harded later in the game. Pure Dual Wielder will become a monster later in the game, mark my word.)

    Nice, what you mentioned kinda reminds me of the new revised Rampage skill, and its damage on normal attacks for Dual users. After a certain number of normal attacks the damage for 1 of those hits get increased about 30%-40%, this happens repeatedly until skill end or you get hit by a status aliment(sadly i dont use it anymore cuase of the high MP cost and Rampage getting canceled by simple status aliments :().
