toram mods and modders issue

Idk rlly i still have some questions
Like, do the mods shown in the two videos below work like a private server? Or is it like a tool you can use in the original game servers and still play with normal players while using it like a cheat?

if its the second one, the devs seriously need to stop this. So damn unfair jesus christ
Arewzo made a video about this and recently some people have also been posting videos showcasing mods that give you ‘god mode’ with features such as 100% crit rate, boss immobility, and map aoe range. Hope asobimo notices this bs. I know this is not an official site but please everyone mail game support about this

I also have the same question as yours. Eitherway, modding should be stopped anyway. If ever that they did create a private server or basically a separate game, I doubt it’s legal and it should be taken down. I already sent mail to game support after seeing Arewzo’s vid

 

Its the app itself basically every update they extract apk, disect it, look for skills code, edit skills modifiers, then save, install that moded apk. I think thats how they do that.
Its all because of one reason that they do this mainly for self progress and for RMT. Thats how many spina sellers get what they have. Whats twisted is these players are the braggers, cocky, self proclaimed idiots who mocks others and bragging theyre pros.
Thats why i always hope devs remove the trade system here too. Thats the only solution to kill majority of the practices that makes any game ending up dead.

It's the second one. A lot of games actually have this problem. That's why you'll also see why a lot of game devs are so allergic to rooted phones and emulators.

Sell/Trade stuff according sololo price so if sololo say S+ equipment cost 30 spina u must sell it to players by 30 spina

 

I don't get why people even mod, it just makes the game less fun. Toram is honestly a lot more fun when you are actually taking damage and the boss is moving. If you do not want to take damage just play one of those tapping games where you only do damage lol.

 

I had a feeling that the recent bugs we experienced (especially guild chat bugs which is the most annoying one for me) are caused by those mods (and perhaps those farmer bots as well)

I really hope there's somethin else that we can do to stop (or at least minimalize) these kind of thing rather just reporting the users that we found using em.

tbh I was trying to googlr those mods and yep, they exist and pretty easy to get, so I think by just reporting every users we found using em are pretty much useless (well u can say it they're like '1 dead, thousands born') since easy to find (those mods, not the users)

I don't think mods alter the apk files. To minimize the impact on server load, Toram Online does all of the damage calculation locally on your phone/device instead on their servers. Hence, all damage dealt, and damage taken is done on your device and sent back to Asobimo's game servers. It's pretty easy to alter these numbers and report falsely to the server. The reason market isn't full of 2s+S weapons/armor and other high price goods is because drops, the death signal of the mob, as well as the result from refine/crafting is sent to your phone from the client.

If you ever DC you'll notice that mobs won't die, damage is dealt and taken as usual (except these all get reset as soon as you reconnect) - this means that damage calcs are done on the client. Interestingly tho, MP recovery via mp charge and AMPR is from the server, but MP deducted for using skills is local.

If you craft/refine on int1 during tuyul season you'll sometimes disconnect/lag out and the hammer will keep hitting over and over until you reconnect and you receive the result (fail/atk bonus/slots). The hammer animation could possibly be a feature to "delay" the result so that the server has more time to balance load if suddenly there are many requests for smithing results.

So, as a result, I believe that all mod applications simply modify what is reported back to the server due to Asobimo's rather primitive method to lessen server load.

DISCLAIMER: I do not mod, neither do I ever plan to mod. I take pride in what I can achieve without using any of these cheats, achieved from grinding, smart market manipulation, and close study of bosses.

I think the only server sided that will be upgraded every .xxxx secs are the amount of spina, char lvl, bag and vault inventory, and maybe theres more. The app/client defines the skills dmg calculation/dmg modifier. Thats why everytime theres a new apk update/skills rebalance/added skills, contents of the apk changes. Here is where the mod happens by editing raising the dmg modifiers of atk/defensive skills whether via Manual or via a 3rd party app script. The dmg calculation is done by the app client itself i think and whats exchanged/sent to the server are its logs together with other sever sided stuffs. Proof is when dmg dealt is shown to your chat settings and u got DC, the logs will still continue to show on each atks.

I kinda had an idea how it work coz i used to make/mod whole android roms for my phone as a hobby many years ago when the latest version was Gingerbread

Mods work on the original servers. Try checking Small Demi Machina Factory Area 2 Dusk Machina's place, there used to be many of them (though idk if they're still there or not). IIRC there also used to be some at Shining Gentleman, but that was quite long ago. The cheaters use Magic: Wall and it inflicts 100s stun (from what I've heard). Cheaters, botters, and tuyuls are slowly ruining this game, I hope Toram won't die because of these annoying pests. I'm sure Aso already knew about this, it's just that they can't really do much I guess. Also where are the regularly posted ban announcements?? I miss them xD

Yeah I noticed some of these stuff too. Something I found interesting as well, is that your character position is also phone sided. If you got DCed for a short time notice that you didn't get teleported back, unless if you're DCed for too long and the text "Disconnected because of slow connection" appears. I remember like a year ago during June Bride Empress event I got DCed and then fell out of the arena, when I reconnected I got kicked out of the battle xD

 

And if mods are server sided it will mean a breech of server security able to infiltrate the game databases. If im on the hackers shoes, why would i even bother looking for my account and rig my stats/atk/defenses/etc to help me farm for spina. I could just steal from someone else in the database list or change it to amount i want. Really had a strong feeling that mods are within the client itself or via a 3rd party app that requires superuser/root. And the fact that many are selling mods made my argument more strong.
