Want to be different..

    I'm a new Toram player and i recently made a mage. I have been looking at most of the mage builds, figuring out what I want to be. I am playing for fun, but I also don't want to slow down my party members if I'm weak. Magic Swordsman(spell blade) appeals to me, but everyone says it is not good. Should i just make the popular angelus mage?

    Imo the Angelus is just the standard mage build that existed way before the thread, (i know i was that type since 2015) but if u wanna be diffirent dnt max int, ur probs wondering why but imo 230int is enough, the rest goes on vit, depending on how ur geared u could have around 12k hp and 2k matk, the skills are just the normal set of skills that a shield mage uses, the survival skills, shield buffs and passives, shield bash, and other skills such as holyfist depending on the combos

    A staff fu is a martial mage that uses str+int or str+vit depending on how u want it, they use knuckle skills for huge dmg, whilst staff fu can output higher dmg than the rest of the fus the fus dnt get some benefits that a pure brawler has, like gaining 5%aspd from martial discipline lvl10 (5%martial skill dmg still applies to the fus when knucks are in sub) or aggravate and strong chase atk (strong chase causes armour break from autoattacks)

    Thank you so much for all the info you've given me :eek: I think I'm going to make a mage that focuses on dealing a lot of DPS, but I am only level 25 so I still have a long way to go until I'm strong

    12k hp with 2k matk is abit over the top.
    i myself with 255 int & 57 vit got 2180 matk with @108+s staff and lv10 mag mastery included and 5.9k hp with roga and albero but without shield mastery.
    If u based it on coryn then sad to say it is innacurate.
    I say realistic should be..
    Even if u add nure + brigandine + shieldmastery with it , i dont think its possible to reach 12k at most its only 10.7k And its true you could reach 2k matk as well but only if you have a @105+ +s staff.
    You also have to deal with the many negatives nure , brigandine and scrader gives too as a side effect and a very low mp and cspd too..

    I mean it looks cool you got high hp and good matk but only in paper but when actual performance comes in to play then sad to say it would get dragged down by the many negative stat it has. Theres also an underlying factor regarding what role would this build do? Will it serve as a dps? but other builds wouls dps better , Or will it serve as a tank? But it has no aggro to begin with or will it serve as a support? only if u got spare sp for protection and aegis.

    I know what ur saying and nope i didnt use coryn, mines almost complete just needa reset stats, and its neither a dps nor tank, rather more of a build that will let me solo because i enjoy building stuff like that

    You should know by now when @BK. Says 12k HP hes forgetting to mention 100% HP vita potion xD.
    Same when he says 300k damage possible- he not mentioning all the proration, high end gears & RNG involved.
    BK likes to give the burger without the recipe:D

    Thats partly true :p but even 380k dmg is possible on yelb with other physical spammers etc, and nah no buffs involved;)

    ah no buffs, then ill refer to Eggs comment, to achieve that much you are making alot of sacrifices which might not be that helpful considering all the side effects.

    my full 255 vit tank with weapon hp7% vit7% aggro% + brigane armour + unicorn helm+ toughness ring has 19.3k hp . no boss xtals or pots.
    nuretnorth mask is actually very bad, would rather have less hp then be hit by fractionals xD

    I already checked out your spellblade and the elusive illusionist one! I was very interested in spell blade but then I read that it wouldn't be very strong and wouldn't be able to fight alone. I have been considering your illusionist one though C: or arrow mage I think it was

    10 more int and 5more lvls will bring me to around 1996matk, those 5lvls will also get me 12k hp, tho i may use choc ooze so ill be down at 11.5k again, no nure xstal needed _20170210_033622.JPG

    Yeah i know that. People like to try something different.
    But why show that to a new player that has just started and who doesnt even know that its a solo build :v
    He clearly said that he wants a build for party.
    Theres a difference in being different and being useful.
