why dex?

i have a bs refiner lvl97 with full tech. someone told me to put rest stat to dex, but why dex?

 

There is literally no point in allocating the rest of your stats. It won't help with refining or statting at all. My advice is, leave it as TEC 255 with the rest unassigned, just in case Toram changes things in the future.

People are suggesting DEX because it will increase the difficulty of items you can create, but you're not using this character to create items, so it's completely irrelevant. The same is true of your bs proficiency; some people will suggest leveling it up, but it's completely irrelevant, there's no point.

As an aside - If you are looking to branch out with this character and do more besides refining, you still don't need any DEX, but there are two options -- alchemy and Customize Equipment statting. For either, I do recommend leveling the character up to lv100, or even lv130 to achieve the best possible statting. Again, it won't matter for refining, but achieving alchemy 3lock requires lv100, and statting uses both TEC and character level.
