Regarding knight skill provoke

    I'm currently playing around with a tank build as an alt. It's kinda fun.
    I dropped the knight skill provoke on thinking it will increase aggro. It's only lvl5 right now but when I use it I'm not seeing much difference or indication of how long it lasts.
    Anyone have info on how much aggro it pulls and it's duration? Is it more effective with a certain stat?

    it generates a fixed amount of aggro every time you use it
    the amount increases with the skill level, and the mp cost decreases ;)

    Thank you for responding, I understand that. I guess what I'm trying to get at is how much and how long. I know at lvl10 it only cost 2mp (now at lvl7 and costs 3mp). Reason being is will this allow me to ditch some gear that helps with agro for something that will boost gaurd or help with fractional damage def? There's also not an icon displayed like buffs (protect, hp boost ect) to know how long it lasts. If it only pulls a tiny bit of agro and only last till hit or for 10 seconds its not worth it, but if it last entire battle or somewhere between and pulls decent agro I can go right on and move forward with different gear.
    Sorry if that was long winded but hopefully explains my question more clearly. :)

    Aggro is permanent and forever increasing. Only ways to decrease are:

    -Exit or complete the fight

    -Die, resets aggro to zero and u can change weapons

    -Aggro-% equips can reduce aggro generated but never goes beyond -100% so no negative aggro (lols if the boss heals u instead xdddddd)

    except that aggro% stats don't affect provoke, since it's a fixed amount :p

    All I want to do is make a toon that stands in front of beasties, breaks, draws aggo, tosses buffs and takes hits so my dps team mates can run around and deal damage freely.
    Is it realy that much to ask. ;):p

    Thats the very defination of a TANK, and the only tossable buffs are recovery and miniheal whatnot. Supports are pathetic in this game excluding brave aura but u cant get hit (not even perfect defense)

    Breaking is nigh impossible for tanks, low break dmg and breaking is a dps role. And once again i'm gonna mention that buffing skills are pathetic (assuming every1 has warcry)

    It's aggro increases 100aggro/lvl so on lvl10 200mpcost + 1000(lvl10) = 1200 aggro. Don't forget to use protection/aegis buffs too. I think those 2 are the most usefuf buffs for a tank. And yes tanks are fun. Best of luck

    Stats still limited and with you wanted to do many roles at same time you might find yourself in SP problems if you want to tank and do dmg at same time. Coz almost all skill trees got nice defensive/offensive active/passive skills. Multi role still possible esp on easier boss modes/farm but high lvl bosses, higher modes (nightmare/ultimate) there is where you'll see its effects. Plus if you party with players who focused on their main roles, your multi semi dps/tank/support/breaker build might end up not getting any rank at all.

    Personally I find some of the buffs useful. Thats what drew me to doing a tank build as an alt. My main is a dps build with low hp and has been saved on multiple occasion by buffs especially from some of those that would normally one shot me. They aren't save alls that are going to make my party invincible but in long boss battles they make a difference. Protect, aegis, guardian, sactuary, are all go to that provide a bit of cushion for my teammates.
    Yes, I'm not expecting great damage for breaks, but equiping drill allows me to drop sheild bash with a 6 second stun every 30 seconds just about 100% of the time alowing me and my teammate to tap tap tap away. Besides I got a shield may as,well put it to use.
    Not worried about dps that is what the rest of my party is for, I happy getting 1 point dam on crit hits ;)
    First and for most my main purpose is to draw agro and take hits. All the othe stuff is just bonus material.

    THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU This is exaclty what I needed. Looks like i will be able to drop some +aggo equip in favor of some fractional damage def.

    Thanks some of your vids have been helpfull in building my tanks foundation.
