[Stone Barrier]Negates Fatal damage?

On Venena, we all know the blue meteors are the bane of Mage's but recently, since testing stone barrier, I've noticed that when active, you can't get one-shot whilst the barrier is in effect?

Has anyone tested this skill extensively?

 

the blue meteors is magic damage and not fatal dmg(fractional dmg that ends up killing you)
so the one shot thing depends on your magic resist and how much hp you need to have to survive the meteor

 

Stone Barrier absorbs 2500 + 2*VIT damage, while still taking 1 damage per hit.
excess damage is taken normally, no safeguard effects included.

 

I'll test it out on Venenaon low HP but so far it seems to work like an anti-fatal

The damage is reduced but not prevented.
