Arcane Strike

    So I've been testing this skill recently and I've come to realize that this is basically a staff+dagger skill for magic assassin's. Why? Well, the damage of this skill is abysmal for its MP cost and does not provide any beneficial effects outside boosting ampr.

    Because this skill basically eats all your MP and no one else besides staff can instantly recover all MP in this instance, it is very useful for staff to use this skill.

    But there is a problem, staff, if built for magic attack, have very low ATK (1.5k at base? At lv205), and at the same time, low crit damage. This means you need gear such that it boosts INT (Gain +ATK from this too), MATK, CRT and CDMG. Not so much CSPD.

    Now why not 1h sword, knux, BG or Halberd? Proration. Yes arcane strike has a stupid high multiplier but only magic assassin's can really use it because;
    1) You need to find a way to quickly restore MP afterwards to either reuse the arcane combo or quickly bust a high damage combo.

    2) It's multiplier needs high MP, which is only provided by a way to maintain as such. Decoy attack can recover MP swiftly but at the same time, this brings another problem...

    3) It is a physical skill. All the other physical weapons have no need to take this skill beyond lv1 for use as a save tag combo ender to boost AMPR. Magic assassin's however can use the skill or even spam it after spamming magic attacks.

    Well, even with all that, the skill is still very lack luster due to lacking anything else besides a high multiplier.

    Yes because of Maximizer staff is ideal for arcane strike, but your mistaken, not only int raises staff attack but also str, in the batter of fact staff attack scales nicely with str, not to mention str improves the stability of staffs so it’s a plausible option but it’s not the most common .

    Ah right so maybe an INT/STR mage can make this skill extremely devastating?

    Then again, going INT STR makes you lose out on CSPD somewhat needed for magic spam unless you go full chain cast, Javelin and impact

    Staff+Dagger better go main STR+(INT or CRT) if ur going to full Physical build.

    for cspd get it in equip/pots rather than investing in DEX (MP Charge)

    -Arcane Strike (Burst) T3
    -Gatling Dagger (Dmg Limit Boss) T3~T4
    -Nature's Wonder (AOE) T3
    -Holy Fist (Combo Opener/1mp quick dps) T1

    Staff>OHS (Overall DMG)
    OHS>Staff (Overall Stability)

    'save' doesn't work as ender. unused saved mp will be added as cost to the last skill, so it still depletes all of your mp.
    'consecutive' is a better option if you want to have some mp leftover.
    pretty sure the buff effect increases with the skill level also.

    It doesn't take any MP if you tag it on the end of a combo with a save tag.

    Edit: Yeah but you can use 9sp for more practical skills

    To be honest, I've been using arcane strike as 1h+dagger. And it takes too long to recover ampr, you have to go through 1.5 to 2 rampage+beserk phases to get 2000mp back. I've departed with arcane, as the animation and delay at the end of the skill results in death most of the time. The MP buff is slightly better than trigger slash, but that doesn't trade off the huge MP cost and annoying placement issues.

    Even if you use an ampr build, to enhance attack mp regen, by the time you recharge all that mana, you could have used other dps skills to do more damage.

    I don't think arcane was well thought out. And everyone should complain to make it useful. Shouldn't it just be a magic skill or have magic proration at least?!

    It's almost as bad as that Dark power skill regret(sp)?

    But overall the issue with daggers is more wide spread. They should not include main weapon atk into the calculation for any dagger based damage skill. As at the moment just equipping a halberd (Hell reaper) can increase Gatling knife damage to break 1.5m without effort, in addition to arcane. There are videos on Ytube with halberd spamming multiple gatling knife attacks with the new double stab buff and deleting mini-bosses and bosses in a couple of seconds.

    Solution:

    - Allow daggers to be refined: Where refinement improves performance. Similar to shields.
    - Provide stability on daggers
    - Daggers damage is calculated with: Dagger Atk + total attribute stats + specific skill power of the dagger skills.

    Or they can just give everyone the same weapon atk on every weapon, then that would balance dagger too. Suzuki logic. Apple in two hands higher ampr, apple and pineapple has lower ampr and damage. But apple and mango in different hands, will see the mango boosts apple damage by 2.5. Now choose a class, after you find this out.

    Now we're nerfing all fruit and raising the proce of orbs. Here, have avatar set with a shotgun, because that fits into toram's theme.

    Hope they release the public bus class. So you can play as a yellow school bus and just drive over bosses.

    Why do the Japanese start off with a great game, and then fuck it completely. Example FF14 online and including car mounts?! "I see you're in a castle, would you like to drive to the next NPC, it's a special promotion...'furry drives by in cybertruck'.

    Pretty sure you've never used arcane strike(save)
    Under combo menu, save costs 2k mana and consumes all mp too, so there is no 'leftover'

    must be unique to this skill then...
    when i wanted to end combos with guardian beam save it still consumed 3 mp.
    if there is no leftover, then save as ender doesn't work (as i said) and in that case consecutive is better.
    but if it does work, then there is a lot of leftover mp after using arcane strike.
    so what are you trying to say there? :confused:

    Well, I don't think arcane strike was intended for physical assassins given its unique use. No physical dps ever maintains full MP and the skill isn't required for t4 assassin.

    Daggers more particular the dagger skill tree is abysmal:
    - For physical mid range burst, only gattling knife really works and it needs 30sp as of current update to maximize damage.

    - Spike dart and poison knife are nice, not for damage but for utility in reducing resistance of certain enemies. Poison damage is garbage and slow ailment is useless on almost all bosses.

    - Hidden Knife, Intensive Knife and Mail breaker are just abysmal wastes. No one needs +100 normal attack damage with a small chance to boost AMPR. Normal attacks are thrash for damage in this game and there aren't any supporting skills for it.

    That aside, seeing as they haven't changed arcane strike yet, it is probably working as is its intended implementation. Though so far I can only see it being useful for magic spam or solo mages (staff/dagger). It would be completely useless for dps for physical attackers given its highly inefficient MP consumption.

    Useless, it only consumes hp if mp is Insufficient and it has a dmg penalty for using hp.

    so i tried other skills again with save as ender. it doesn't work. they still consume the full cost.
    if Arcane Strike really activates for 0mp as a save ender, then this is a bug exploit feature.
    (or perhaps it consumes 1mp as that is the defined base cost?)

    It works because arcane has a 0MP cost but has a trigger requirement of 1 MP.

    The current combo system isn't able to block skills by trigger requirement, only MP cost which is why you can't start a combo with a 0MP skill but can use a 0MP skill in combo.

    In my experience this skill doesn't always give the same result if used as combo ender. Plus it might tranport you to dangerous zone, which make this skill a hot garbage as combo ender for physical build.
