I just have to ask....why is Toram online so populated by Indonesian players? It seems like 99% are from Indonesia.

By the way I'm desperately in search of a majority English guild

That’s with most rpg games, especially Asobimo games.

    cultural preference, i guess.
toram is heavily old-school jRPG inspired, and that specific type of gameplay is not very popular in western countries who are more used to automatic progress and quick rewards.
another factor could be expensive graphics and unnecessary fanservice.

genre also matters. depending on who you ask to rate games and rank them, a lot of the 'top titles' are heavy loaded with guns and boobs.

If I have to be totally frank...
Toram indirectly facilitate RMT which is popular in that country.
That's also why more than half of the scammers are Indonesian players.

I swear, as an Aussie player I've only found 3 others from Australia, one is a good friend. 1 was a noob I helped out awhile back and the other a stranger

As a USA player I can relate @megan8 finding other players from my country is like finding a rare item.

@Pregnant can you elaborate how toram indirectly facilitates RMT?

@Red_Fox you mean games with auto farm as part of their mechanics? Like Idle heros or afk Arena for example?

Yeah there were a lot of indos in iruna online (the prequel of toram) but they mostly stuck to world/ server 3 (wasseria)

    maybe. haven't played those.
but i have seen games where the tutorial is fully automated with no interaction other than tapping the same button over and over again. and when you are done, your character gained 30 levels in one battle and you get free SSR equipment, then the game prompts you to rate it 5*.

    That's not an elaboration...

Elaborate means to explain in detail

Can you elaborate on why you saw the need to point this out?

    It's about money.
Any game that has tradable money, you will always find indos exploiting it.
They farm ingame currency using thousands of bots and try selling it to other players and make money through RMT.

Because avabel banned trading of money in game, you will barely find any indos there, who are genuinely playing game.
As a result the game has very low number of players.
It seems like the lowest number of players in any asobimo game so far.

And yeah indos cannot do all that in privileged japanese servers.
It just takes 1 day, to get them all banned.

Banning is not that fast in international servers.

Common Japanese people aren't fan of foreigners, if they don't like you in their server, you will get banned in their servers, for a simple reason as that, because in the first place, you can only access Japanese servers illegally, unless if you are in Japan of course, then no problem.
    Japanese players have higher priority.

There are many players from the PH (Philippines) too but they often lurk in EN/Global world (based on observation). Some of them uses "wkwkwk", some of them are BOT users, some of them are really great players. TBH I think RMT is active in the Philippines... but who knows? I'm just guessing.

I think there are a lot more Indonesian Players though, considering most YouTube channels and daily chat in a random party with Indonesian Language.

Maybe Toram loses players eventually because of their account policy: In summary it's like "Once you forget any of your credentials, wave goodbye to all of your hardwork", making most of the returning players lose morale and quit the game presumably forever.

    Why Indos:
    1. Anime Style and gameplay preference
    2. Open trading and free-to-play game (Imho, Toram is not free to play, but more on subtle Pay to Win game. Want proof? try to level up start from level 105 with just NPC equipment below level 100. You'll understand what I mean. But I think it is normal since the Devs needs to eat properly and have vacation).
    3. This is the positive side: Some players build a local community from the game. They even host meet-up events and play together.
    4. Negative side: RMT, Bots, and not to mention fake accounts or "Tuyuls" exploiting Toram gifts. Ah also MODS, the newest one is MOD player that play together with GM Suzuki. It's all over youtube XD I don't deny this one, since some players can have extra pocket money by trading spina for real money. Or opening levelling services using MODS, and trade it with real money. And there's a BUT, not all Indo player like this also some players from other countries do this. Some of them Indo players are nice, helpful, and supporting this game by buying legal Asobimo's Orbs or other Item.

Toram is one the most free to play and most non-pay to win game that there is.
In the entirety of time I have played toram, I never felt like buying orb or even tickets.
Because everytime I feel like buying orbs or tickets, I always get free orbs and drop or exp books.
So I don't even get chance to spend money in this game, seriously.
This game is just that good, and among all the asobimo games, Toram has the highest player count.

Well, I'm not saying it is a total P2W, it is a "subtle". A subtle here, I mean that you have a chance to grind or farm as you like to have spina or other resources, but in the other hand, you need to buy orbs if want to get Prime Piercer, Legendary Silk, Fairy paper pattern etc. Of course Asobimo provide the free version of orbs, like in anniv event, but in a normal situation not so much. You can surely have Prime Piercer etc by request or buy from other players, but at the same time, the other player got the Prime from buying orbs or waiting for an even that gives orb shard. So it is really like giving the player a choice. I think it is okay to buy orbs or levelling ticket, because it can support the Devs, so the game can last. I sometimes buy the leveling ticket if I have spare money. No means of debating here, but just elaborate my thoughts. And I agree with you, Toram has the highest player for Asobimo's game and the game is good.

Yeah, that's called having microtransactions not being Pay to Win. Since there is no PvP either.

    For now.

As soon as PvP drops, watch the game spiral into eternal slumber.

Isn't that why the devs were too reluctant to add PvP in the beginning? And as long as they don't add SEASONS or a leaderboard, we should be fine. Even friendly matched between guildies would be a welcome feature.
