    Ranger Class - aka Bowman

    [IMG]
    We are not really popular in any game, and more the less in Toram Online. This is a range class, dedicated specifically for DPS and Spike damage. Our skill builds are basically centered into Single Target skills, and we only have 1 AOE attack, which makes us very bad Farmers(unless we are 4 archers in the same party, which is awesome). We are partially glass cannons, our max HP is around the 600 HP at lvl 65 for now, 186 stats points and 102 skill point, which only allows us to increase our HP with crystals or gear stats, and thats not going to happen, sadly with current updates, more hp is required for Rangers to survive, 540-600 HP doesn't cut it any more.

    Asobimo Confirmed that Ranger skills are PHYSICAL SKILLS So they do not Use CSPD as a POWER SHOT Casting time reducer, It uses ASPD.

    This will be your Main Stat Calculator

    1 Dex = 3.56 Dmg with Bow / 4.35 Dmg with XBow = 662 Bow Dmg / 809 XBow Dmg
    1 Dex = 1.36 Accuracy = 186 Dex = 252 Accuracy
    1 Dex = 0.97 ASPD = 186 Dex = 180 ASPD
    1 Dex = 3.35 CSPD = 186 Dex = 623 CSPD

    6 Dex = 1 Crit = 186 Dex = 31 Crit Base = 10% Crit Rate
    3 Crit = 1% Crit Rate = 80-86 Crit = 26-28% Crit Rate

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Our Skills right now are the next.
    ~~Kudos to Argo - This was pulled from your Skill Tree Thread~~
    Skill Descriptions
    1. Power Shot- (MP 100) Shoot the target with stronger power. The charging time reduces as the skill levels up. You have a chance to make the target Fall Down.
    2. Bullseye- (MP 200) Consecutively shoot at a point. The damage dealt increases attack by attack.
    3. Arrow Rain- (MP 300) Shoot a lot of arrows to the sky. The arrows fall down at intervals and deal damage.
    4. Moeba Shot- (MP 100) Shoot with sticky liquid. You have a chance to Slow Down the target.
    5. Paralysis Shot- (MP 300) Shoot with poison of paralysis. You have a chance to Paralyze the target.
    6. Shot Mastery- Get better at using bows and bowguns. ATK of Bows and Bowguns increases.
    7. Sneak Attack- (MP 200) Hide yourself and turn Aggro away. Certain attacks don't get Aggro after this skill.
    8. Long Range- Get better at attacking from a distance. The damage increases by attacking 8m or more far from enemies.
    Mandaroty Red . Green as Useful, and Pink as Useless. And I will explain them to you accordingly.
    1. Power Shot- (MP 100) This is your 3 skill or 2nd skill on your Combo Set(If you play with combos). Super useful once you pull a 800 CSPD, this is close to instant casting.
    2. Bullseye- (MP 200) Its relative this skill will basically stay at lvl 1 or lvl 5 depending on your build. Not necessary. Or just got full lvl 10 on it and see your dmg go lil high and just loose all your mp with this xD.
    3. Arrow Rain- (MP 300) Farming Skill, useless unless you going for an alternative of your mage farmer, waste of points honestly. Might stay on 1 or 5 for next update.
    4. Moeba Shot- (MP 100) This is your Opener, will try to always be your first skill you pull in since it will slow down your target = bye bye and head shot.
    5. Paralysis Shot- (MP 300) Your 2nd Opener or 2dary skill on your skill chain or combo, good for Mage killing(pvp).
    6. Shot Mastery- Name says it all, nothing to explain
    7. Sneak Attack- (MP 200) This used to be useless until it opened my eyes, this is your finisher, damage your enemy all you want and then just say bye bye to aggro. Awesome. Useless for the time being 'cus there's no need to pull aggro away from yourself, since most of the things are tankable for now.
    8. Long Range- This skill is only useful for bowman's, until a gun with higher range comes out(sniper rifle maybe???).
    Basically this are the skills and how well they will function depending on the situation. Since we are Single Target Class, most of our combat will relay on taking down our targets before they reach us.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Now to the 2 different types of builds our lil class can focus on. Now this are my views on how the class develops. My builds are made specificly for PvP Usage if it occures anytime or in the futue. Regardless, this build work perfectly fine with current PvE mechanics.
    This Guide doesn't show any Combo Set up nor Xtal set up, as I do not require copy's of me running around xDD. Sorry xDD. Each to their own ;).

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Skill based combat.
    • Dex based dmg - Skill damage increases with dex .
    • Accuracy dependent
    • ASPD based combat – Ranger skills are Physical skills, so ASPD is your Skill Charge mitigator.
    • No MP Gear required.
    Basically, you will be relying on your skill spamming. But you need ASPD to do that. Staying put in one place casting Power Shot for 5 secs you are dead, while casting it in 1 sec is better or less.
    Stats Distribution
    Dexterity 186(Lvl 65 with all Emblem rewards)
    Gear
    Accessory
    Accessory Slot – Spiked Bandana (NPC Crafted)
    Accesory Slot - Feather Cape(Mini Boss Arcoiris)
    Ring
    Ring Slot – Dex2 Ring (NPC Blacksmith Crafted, very low chance for +5 Def and +1 Slot, but its doable) Pain Leafs in Ravain or Lion Fish in Lutaros Cave.
    Off Hand
    Off Hand - Wind Feather Arrow (NPC BS, material from Pico in Ragu Plains, and Thick Black Cloth from Gespent)
    Off Hand - Fire Arrow (NPC BS Crafted)
    Off Hand - Tempest Arrow (Forestia Green Dragon Drop)
    Weapon
    Main Weapon - Forest Wolf Bow(Drops from Forest Wolf Bow, or Player Crafted 70% Stability)
    Main Weapon – Metal Horn Bow(NPC Crafted or Player Crafted, but not recommended 60% Stability)
    Armor
    Armor – Ooze Armor(Boss Dropped is good and Player Crafted with high Potential)
    Armor - Forest Wolf Garb (Boss Dropped is the way to go, Potential on this one is low.)
    Skills Used
    Bow Skills - Moeba Shot Lv10 Para Shot Lv10 Power Shot Lv10 Shot Mastery Lv10 Long Range Lv10 Bulls Eye Lv0-5
    Battle Skills - Attack Up Lv10 Smash Lv10 Crit Up Lv10
    Survival Skills - Safe Rest Lv5-10 HP Boost Lv10
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Crit based Combat.
    • Dex based dmg - Skill damage increases with dex .
    • Accuracy / Crit dependent – Accuracy unlocks crit allowing you to Hit -à Crit
    • ASPD based combat – Ranger skills are Physical skills, so ASPD is your Skill Charge mitigator.
    • No MP Gear required.
    Basically, if your crit rate % is around 40-60% means more chances to crit, since Dex will provide Acc already you wont have to worry too much. So ASPD and Crit are your main gear stats on crafting.

    Stats Distribution

    Dex 106 Crit 80 or 100 Dex 86 Crit
    Gear

    Accessory
    This are your accessory to work with depending on the situation.
    Accessory Slot – Spiked Bandana( NPC Crafted)
    Accessory Slot - Old Cape (Ghosts in Underground Cellar, Gespent Version is a lil better)
    Accesory Slot - Feather Cape(Mini Boss Arcoiris)

    Ring
    Ring Slot - Pendulum (Quest from NPC it gives +5 Crit, sadly no slots on it)
    Ring Slot – Dex2 Ring (NPC Blacksmith Crafted, very low chance for +5 Def and +1 Slot, but its doable) Pain Leafs in Ravain or Lion Fish in Lutaros Cave.

    Off Hand
    Off Hand - Wind Feather Arrow (NPC BS, material from Pico in Ragu Plains, and Thick Black Cloth from Gespent)
    Off Hand - Fire Arrow (NPC BS Crafted)
    Off Hand - Tempest Arrow (Forestia Green Dragon Drop)

    Weapon
    Main Weapon - Forest Wolf Bow(Drops from Forest Wolf Bow, or Player Crafted)
    Secondary Weapon - Long Bow(Player Crafted) Will give you 12m range different from all other 10m range bows.

    Skills Used
    Bow Skills - Moeba Shot Lv10 Para Shot Lv10 Power Shot Lv10 Shot Mastery Lv10 Long Range Lv10 Bulls Eye Lv10 Arrow Rain Lv10
    Battle Skills - Attack Up Lv10 Smash Lv10 Crit Up Lv10

    Well this is basically, the best I have gone so far, everything else is up to the players.

    Your saying this guide is good to go? Isn't it the same as the other XD.
    Only asking do to other then full dex not really sure what to do with hunter and skills. Also as a Ranger wouldn't crit from 40+ be good.
    Oh and in that paladin build you said that aoe skill is useless?

    So many questions. 0.o

    @Grease
    The other one looks the same cus I Copy pasted this one, I am almost done the writing of the other one to change the whole thing once Im done with it.
    Crit as a Ranger as explained above, will depend on your build ASPD or CSPD. 80 DEX / 40-50 Crit is Doable as a ASPD Ranger.
    AOE is only good for farming, thats it, once you cap, or regardless of capping, its only good for farming. For farming go make a mage and farm with it. Rangers are meant to be Single Target class, for AOE go Gunman, you will pull a lot of aggro once the cap is lifted and we go to LVL 70 combat zones, since mobs wont go down on 1.4-1.6k damage. You will need that suitability as a Gunman(using a shield makes wonders).
    But as a Ranger, you will relay a lot on single target combat. A ranger is good for PvP, nothing else. All their skills are based for Single Target Combat.

    Moeba / Paralyze / Bullseye / Sneak Attack this is all meant for PvP and Single Target combat. Nothing else.
    Hope this answer your question.

    Yup that does a lot. Want to make one but if they are not that effective in pve, which even if we get pvp all I care for its pve, I guess I'm better off not making a Ranger then. That is what I'm getting from your post.

    But at the same time single target damage is good for a boss isn't it. I read your comment with your water bow in
    http://toramonline.com/index.php?threads/the-gunner-build.562/

    Oh ps I have a mage it is my main. How ever I screwed up some stats and have to re make. Sad day. XD not paying 18 bucks to get sp back.
    P.s.s. If Rangers only good for pvp why does @Faust love them so much. ;)

    Well, honestly, my Wolf, Volg, Mochello, and other bosses main Pt, only tank and let me kill, and there's always 1 brawler breaking for me, or I cant focus on killing xD

    Also that Long bow took me 71 Trys to get all failed, till for fk chance 1 succeeded, only had 9% succ chance, so fk me. LOL.

    Also, yea, if you going for PvE, forget about a ranger for now. You will enjoy it if you go Gunner, let me finish the guide to update the thread. I am at the office and my freaking salesman wont let me take a break lol.

    Lol all right. I'll check it out later then. But still sounds like for pve damage or aoe best of stick with mage unless future update changes some thing.
    Atm what I'm working on.
    Mage dps.
    Brawler will be breaker.
    Warrior, can't decide from that paladin build u saw or a strength crit build of Faust.
    Ranger I guess dead in water for now.

    Seems like most mmos give no love to the Ranger. Very little love for them in gw2 XD.

    Well Ranger in gw1 was great, was my favorite class, gw2 their pets really blows it. Caused lots of problems in fracs and even some dungeons. Don't know if they improved it though. Have not played gw2 in a year and a half.

    Also again talking pve I've always stayed out of pvp. Well other then wvw flash mobs. That can be fun at times XD.

    I am a really competitive player, and I love and own my PvP as it is, also love PvE, and try to play all the content in a game as pve will make it. But PvP is my forte bro xD. I will make my whole guild into a war machine just to make 1 player die without grace.

    Anyways back on topic. Yea stay away from Ranger unless u wana do some party play go with Gunner.

    @Kimesato

    I am also interested in making a ASPD Ranger. I'm so new to this game there are some things don't fully understand, but I'm enjoying the game so pardon my ignorance.

    I've attached my stats. I would like to make a character that regular attacks are good enough to the down something. With use of spell/skills up to 3 mana? The question iz.. what do I have to do to the stats? Just Dex? How do I increase the rate of attack? Gun vs Bows?

    I'll be ok if my character sucks. But I need a direction I can take with confidence even if it leads to be useless lol. I was thinking of having a healing ability to help my party members from drying, but don't want to invest heavily into the support class.

    Ok, as you mention, "I'll be ok if my character sucks. But I need a direction I can take with confidence even if it leads to be useless lol. I was thinking of having a healing ability to help my party members from drying, but don't want to invest heavily into the support class." This is your char, and you build it as you want it and how u see fit.

    For now, Keep str and vit as they are, dont invest any more. If you going the support way, make sure your dex is high enough to be able to hold into the fire line without loosing the focus of your build, which is this case is a short range medic. Change into Gun for shorter range, because you will need to be balls deep in the front line.

    Apart from that, keep playinig the way you been, will be fun, thats a different build for sure xD. Enjoy it bro.

    just wondering though, what about survival skills? do we leave it alone and leave our hp at around 700 ++.
    By the way great guide! If it came out earlier it would have saved me a ton of character restarts. :x

    We don't relay on survival skills, we just dont get hit, and thats pretty much it.
    My Hp right now is 486 + Vit pot I end up at around 900+ something. Also, most of my gear is Forest Wolf Xtal, I currently sport 7 Wolf Xtals so I normally don't get hit xD. I am not a MA but I try to do it .

    I used up 15 skill points in getting Sober Analysis for my Archer, but was it wasted?

    If you ask me, yea, but its your own gameplay xD, some people think about the turn ins and turn outs of dps, but if you can hold your ground with Normal Attacks, Mp is not a problem, Dawn Hat fixes this issue +2 MP on attack is a good deal xD.
