The Pure Archer Build

    I’ve never been one of those people that like to test a bunch of different builds and write about them. Heck, I’ve never even written a guide before in my life (at least not a gaming guide). However, with much request, here’s what I have for my Pure Archer build with variants.

    First. What is a Pure Archer? Someone that uses a bow.
    Therefore, keep all comments about bow guns OFF of this thread. Greatly appreciate it.

    Second. What’s the difference between an archer and a gunner (sniper)?
    archer - med dmg, longer cast time for pshot (around 3secs), high ailments chance like tumble, stun..etc, more range, more crit chance, uses a bow
    gunner (sniper) - high dmg, shorter cast time for pshot (around 1secs), low ailment chance, less range, less crit chance, uses a bow gun
    if i missed any of differences. let me know...

    Third. Why would I go with an archer then?
    Because I want to.


    Fourth. Some notes before starting (recommend read) -
    • I’ve only rebuild this archer once completely from scratch around lvl50 cap with the help of @Kimesato following his guidance. His guide does a better job explaining stuff if you want to read it here

    • Since the rebuild, i have reset one skill tree to get more skill points around lvl70 cap since I was desperate for skill points i didn’t have.

    • I read a lot about each skills before picking and choosing what to and not to level.

    • I also ask a lot of questions (to guildies) before picking and choosing what to and not to level.

    • I hate math, so I can’t tell you how many skill points there is right now and how to evenly divide them to get exactly what you want. I’m sure there’s a bunch of guides here that does tell you how many skill points at the lvl100 cap though :)
      • with that said don’t just start randomly throwing 10 stat points in each category...they may not add up
    • I am not responsible if this build does not work for you.

    • I don’t care if my build sucks, it works for me and I’m happy with it.

    • If you have nothing positive to say, I recommend you go elsewhere and take the negativity with you as well.

    • I am open to suggestions on how one can improve a build if they choose to

    The Pure Archer Build
    Current Version - 10/8/19

    1st Stat - Full Dex - I pour all my stat points in here when that's full
    2nd Stat - Str (hidden stat cdmg, 5 str=1 cdmg)
    Personal Stat - CRT (3.4 crt = 1 crt rate) [i personally don't use this anymore, as u can easily acheive 100% crit via crit equips]
    Lv4 Shot Skills
    Power Shot 5 (don't really need this skill anymore, as long cast time and most bosses these days don't like to be tumbled)
    Bullseye 5-10
    Moeba 10
    Paralysis 10
    Smoke Dust 5
    Arrow Rain 5-10
    Snipe 10
    Shot Mastery 10
    Sneak Attack 0
    Long Range 10
    Quick Draw 10
    Crossfire 10
    Decoy 10

    Optional -

    Lv1 Magic
    MP Charge

    Lv3 Battle Skills
    Attack UP - Increase ATK a little.
    Whack - you have extremely low chance to increase the last physical damage dealt.
    Critical UP - Incrase Crit Rate & damage dealt a little.
    Intimidating Power - Increase ATK a little.

    Survival Tree - of you have a HP or MP issue. it does require a lot of extra skill points, if you have enough to spare, add some here.

    Lv3 Hunter Skills
    Kickback - 5 <--i don’t really like this skills because it brings my archer too up close n personal with the boss. I only have 5 here so i can get the sunrise
    Sunrise - 5-10 <--good skill to have, it does have a very high atk dmg when use in combination of the sleep trap, dmg will be 2x when boss is asleep from sleep trap.
    Sleep Trap - 1 <--don’t need more than 1 since it doesnt increase duration if lvl up, lvling up will only increase MP regen to 200 at lvl 10 if used with combination of a bow
    Magic Arrow - 5

    Lv2 Guard Skills
    Light Armor Mastery - 10
    Advance Evasion - 10

    Lv4 Support Skills
    Life Recovery - 5
    Brave Aura - 10 (ups your atk & wep performance by a bit, useful when you don't have aggro as when you get hit, buff is gone. buff last 15 mins if don't get hit, also other players in your party within distance will get buff too)

    Nice passive skills to have (not required) -
    Lv4 Mononofu Skills
    Bushido - 5
    Shukuchi - 1 ("dash" to your mob/boss/mini faster, or as i call it...dash to your death quicker xD)

    Lv3 Assassin Skills
    Assassin Stab - 5
    Backstep - 1 (tho i don't use this on my archer but it's a nice to have as you can quicky step out of an aoe if you're stuck in one)
    haven't tried these yet, but they also seem nice to have..
    Evasion - a technique to improve the ability to dodge. Increase dodge rate for a certain period of time and remove status ailment 'slow'
    Serum - a technique to ease and relieve pain. Reduce damage over time due to status ailments 'poison' and 'ignite' for a certain period of time
    Foresight (passive) - exceed the limit of your ability to dodge. Lower monster's minimum accuracy and makes it easier to dodge attacks.

    The day (3 yrs later) my guide finally takes up my reserve spot xD

    • Snipe (Smite) - to increase snipe attack
    • Crossfire (Smite) - to increase crossfire attack
    • Power Shot (swift) - to decrease time, like if your pshot is at lvl10, pshot swift will take around 1.2ish secs to charge
    Combos I use:
    • Manual Activate CF, Bless > CF (Smite)
    • 1 mp spam - Moeba > Smoke Dust (save) > Snipe (Smite) > Paralysis (cons) or
    • 1 mp spam - Moeba > Smoke Dust (save) > Paralysis (cons) > Snipe (Smite) > Bullseye(cons) [high aggro combo]
    Combos Suggestions by forum users:
    • 1MP Snipe + Debuff: Moeba > Smoke dust (save) > Power shot (Swift) > Snipe (Smite) > Parashot (cons) - Tumble and Snipe, Tumble make you safe while doing Snipe, this combo can inflict all status ailment from Shot skills
    • 1MP Quick Snipe: Moeba > Smoke dust (save) > Snipe (smite) > P.shot (swift)
    • Moeba>Smoke Dust (Save)>Power Shot (Swift)>Paralyze Shot (Consecutive)>Snipe (Smite)>Sneak Attack (Consecutive)
    • Moeba (1MP) > Arm break (save) (1+ -7MP) > Para shot (cons) (1+ -6MP)> Magic Arrow (swift) (1+ -5MP) > Sunlight (cons) (constant) > Crossfire (smite) (1+ -1MP OR if you are not using this combo to charge, But to fire, then 1+ -5MP) > Power shot (swift) leaving this combo at the 1 MP point, or costing yourself 5mp to cast a firing attack assuming you do not kill the boss beforehand.
    • Moeba > Arm Break (Save) (-7MP) > Decoy Shot (Con) (-5MP) > Paralysis Shot (Con) > Smoke Dust (Con) (-4MP) > War Cry (Con) > Snipe (Smite) (0MP) > Sunrise Arrow (Con) > Cross Fire (Smite)
    • Sunrise > Para shot(save) > Arrow Rain(smite) > Kickback(cons)
    Take note on a few things, tho:
    1. It's very effective in parties, providing endless-long range support. But, it's bad for soloers. It's obvious why. '-'
    2. Use "Sneak Attack" after an ally gave the first hit to the enemy, and right before we initiate the combo. The enemy might target us if we use "Sneak Attack" before anyone else are attacking.
    3. High chance of inflicting 5 status effects (slow, blind, tumble, paralyze, guard break), without needing to worry that the enemy might attack us. We might still get attacked by the enemy's AoE, though.
    4. We can continuously inflict status effects on the enemy due to its 100 MP cost, but beware of the long combo.
    5. The "Snipe" damage is quite high, powered at 130% (-20% from save, +50% from Smite).
    6. If we wanna tank instead, change the "Sneak Attack" with Bullseye. Total aggro will be 1600.
    7. I don't have MP charge, so I usually auto attack 4-7 times before re-initiating the combo, to refill my MP. Maxing the Quick Draw is highly recommended.

    if you have an awesome combo you want to share, let me know and i’ll add it, there’s a variety you can do and play around with.

    Mostly proves that this build works for me and for me to keep track of stuff, and my play style might be wayyy different than yours.

    Nice guide ;). Still use my boss fw bow most, as I love the speed. Mostly I go for breaker rank.

    You could also use the mushroom arrow if you need MP regen.

    1MP Snipe + Debuff: Moeba > Smoke dust (save) > Power shot (Swift) > Snipe (Smite) > Parashot (cons) - Tumble and Snipe, Tumble make you safe while doing Snipe, this combo can inflict all status ailment from Shot skills
    1MP Quick Snipe: Moeba > Smoke dust (save) > Snipe (smite) > P.shot (switf)

    Hi kariin niisan. im supporting this thread i tell you some secret about some bow "GEARBOW" definetly the one in the NPC 25% CDMG -50% crit it work for me "MY SNIPE ALWAYS CRIT" with out using CRIT GEARS. might give you some try if u feel some overpower in your build.

    BTW my stats distribution was FULL DEX with some 22 CRIT STATS.

    for pot i prefer +8 crt dmg,4%atk(wep)/4%dex(arm). vamp cape also have decent stab n small atk. crt rate stuff redundant for archer since snipe has very high base crit rate for bow. love para shot stab + xD

    To the world it is, then. I'm not sure if anyone else are using the same combo as I am, but here's my favorite stealth combo, which consists of pure shot skills.
    Moeba>Smoke Dust (Save)>Power Shot (Swift)>Paralyze Shot (Consecutive)>Snipe (Smite)>Sneak Attack (Consecutive)
    Take note on a few things, tho:
    1. It's very effective in parties, providing endless-long range support. But, it's bad for soloers. It's obvious why. '-'
    2. Use "Sneak Attack" after an ally gave the first hit to the enemy, and right before we initiate the combo. The enemy might target us if we use "Sneak Attack" before anyone else are attacking.
    3. High chance of inflicting 5 status effects (slow, blind, tumble, paralyze, guard break), without needing to worry that the enemy might attack us. We might still get attacked by the enemy's AoE, though.
    4. We can continuously inflict status effects on the enemy due to its 100 MP cost, but beware of the long combo.
    5. The "Snipe" damage is quite high, powered at 130% (-20% from save, +50% from Smite).
    6. If we wanna tank instead, change the "Sneak Attack" with Bullseye. Total aggro will be 1600.
    7. I don't have MP charge, so I usually auto attack 4-7 times before re-initiating the combo, to refill my MP. Maxing the Quick Draw is highly recommended.

    I still have other sets, but those are for maze purposes, focused on its quickness. Nevertheless, this stealth combo is my favorite, since I'm a pure shot skills user. I hope this helps, Kariin.

    Nice guide Karin I try to make mine as nice an detailed as yours !, may I ask why you never invest in IMPACT skill?it allow you many COMBO options I think. That's jst my opinion haha.
