I'm more so confused about what skills to learn. One of my pet's is a Knuckle/Impulsive/Phys Def combo so I thought it would be good to make it as a tank since it has high vitality already and specializes in close range combat from the weapon type. Problems are that the only tank skill for a pet is Cover and Impulsive means the pet will distance itself from me according to what Cruithne added here. Thanks for answering anyway Zak ^^

Theres another thread somewhere that caters to pet fusion or you can wait for cru's guide on coryn.club or you can look it up on asobimos official website for toram online.

Yeah Impulsive sucks. It doesnt dodge any aoe either. My advice is, think of what role would you like your pet to play: dps, support, healer, or tank? What weapon/type do you think would best suit that role? Then hunt for that pet with exact properties. I would always go for natures like justice, sly, steady or sturdy cos they avoid all aoe. As for skills, well, you just have to pray to rngsus that you get the skills that you want.

I think I've experienced a failure on that bonus, but I can't recall clearly. I'll pay more attention next time

Then what's so special about train pet with orbs @@? it'll not make the pet stronger?

 

Higher success rate (70%) without any bonus on. Plus, even if all trainings were to be unsuccessful, you will still end up with +100 stats.

 

sigh.... so if we got +50% success rate bonus, that orb training is nothing but useless...

 

it's the same as orb teleporting - you can use 1 orb to instantly move to any map, or you can just walk there

Pet's skill is not leveled up by being used. It doesn't matter how many times your pet use its skill, it'll not level his own skill.
Formula of pet's skill : Pet's skill base level (level when you achieve) + ((current exp/Max pet level exp) x5)
So if your pet's skill base is 2, you can only max ur skill level at 7 (at your pet's max level)

Skill Boost : Has a super high rate of getting base skill level.

 

@HaruChan had her Magic Lance at Level 1 iirc and she was able to level it up to Level 9, maybe Level 10 if she didn't stop.

Also, based on my observation, the skill levels up faster the more it is used. Im not quite sure about this one but Monster Hunting bonus helps too, like about 2%.

 

hmm.... I left my coryn (gentle) keep buffing at raffy and used his skill for 2 hours but not eve 1% increase
I notice its skill exp increase everytime I get leveled up tho.
and by rough calculation my coryn's skill only can reach lvl 9 by it's max level..

Its weird but it appears a skill that starts at Level 5 will gain the same amount of exp as a skill that starts at Level 1. This means that if your pet's skill started at Level 5, when you level it up from Lv9 to Lv10, it would be as if you're doing Lv5 to Lv6 for a skill that started at Lv1. Idk if i said that clearly, I apologise if it sounds confusing. XD

 

yes it's same that's why skill max level is only base level +5

I haven't see it myself a skill that start at level 1 can reach lvl 8 or more tho.

PLus the skill leveling 100% has nothing to do by how many times pet use it

Btw my lil Coryn at his level 102 now..

 

the official information on the news page has a different opinion about this
(passive skills can't be "used" so they only level up through combat. also, inherited skills cannot be leveled up either.)

both my skill boost pets got their skills at lv1 and 2.

it can go up to 10, but the amount of exp needed is huuuuuuuuuge

because no one trained long enough yet

also, gentle and timid pets gain exp under different conditions than other pets.
