Why was disagree removed?

Side note: if you moderators can take a complaint and criticism from me without instantly banning me because I want to start a conversation on what is going on within the forum community would be nice.

This is a forum, disagreements happen ALL THE TIME IN A FORUM. Removing the disagree is like making this forum into some family safe bs forum where nobody can have a disagreement like adults. You are taking the meaning of a forum. And if you dont know what a forum is then let me show you:

An Internet forum, or message board, is an online discussion site where people can hold conversations in the form of posted messages. They differ from chat rooms in that messages are often longer than one line of text, and are at least temporarily archived.

Forums are for debate and discussion and time to time arguments. These types of actions is what is making the forum (IN MY OPINION) bland and not fun to be around anymore.

I hope as you the reader can see what has to be done about this.

 

I like the disagree button because

1)the poster hit some sore spots or just plain stupid and im lazy to eleborate or my keyboard is acting up again and its hard for me to type. (Works both ways, mind you)
2)poster is sending flames and rants with no valid reason and have become a dick in general.
3)profane words is bad even if we are able to type and display it here in the forums.

 

I'm also not into the idea of making sad emoticon as a neutral or somehow a negative kind of response to a message of the original poster or the commentators. (negative in terms of it outbalanced your own ratings that is received).

Face it, we also use sad reacts as a way to feel that the original poster posted something that is simply sad.

For example: "I sold my intruder for cheap just for this anniversary" as a comment on a thread, you'll usually get sad reacts NORMALLY for this type of response.

Disagree is more of the best option to replace the neutral ratings instead of sad reacts.

 

Will this thread be sent to and considered by the moderators if not people voted a "yes"?

 

Having a disagree button also allows formers to think twice before posting a flame thread or comment that will cause hatred too

 

As Important as I think the disagree button was, the reason it was removed was because people abused it, but I guess that's what happens when you give monkeys fire to play with.

 

I guess monkeys really like to throw fire to those other monkeys that they don't like.

 

Then now people are less afraid of posting whatever they want -.-

Not like disagree button would stop them from not posting , if they truly wanted to they would post it eitherways.
If you truly feel the thread was made with flaming in mind then just report it and let the moderators review it since that is against forum rules.

 

Well the fear of the disagree button may be a factor from preventing people from posting rubbish

 

It's not meant to be feared but use for self expression. Disagree button has that advantage and disadvantages.

Some even make new accounts just to give you that dreaded rating.

Though now you won't be oblivious as to why they disagree or if simply they don't like you, and they'll have to make the effort to voice out their responses rather that keeping us in the dark.

The reason the "Disagree" rating was removed is because we've had cases of people abusing that rating; by literally spamming a poor victim with "Disagree's" to the point to where it can be a really high number. Now what's the problem with it? Why won't a regular warning work?

1. There is no options for moderators to wipe out any certain ratings completely. What that means is that, we have no option to purge ratings. Even banning the offender won't remove all the ratings.
2. "Disagree" ratings that are abused on certain users can hurt their reputation and newer users & other bloke. Examples of these people include people who run a hood 3-lock business or store keepers/managers and the such.
3. Lastly, some people could care less if they had the warning in the first place. The rating option would still be there and they'd continue regardless.

Now, I can understand that nobody is going to agree with the removal and some will be frustrated with it. It's okay to disagree, (and no, I'm not meaning in terms of ratings) because not everyone is going agree or be happy with everything. The thread will not be locked or removed, unless it reaches a point of flame or such.

Yes, I was one of the victims of the abusal of disagree button. It was sometime after I opened my refine shop (I wasn't able to stat back then), a guy disagreed on all my posts in that thread and voted 'No' in the 'Am I trusted' vote (it only had like 4 votes back then so it hurted). He also replied to my thread with urmm weird stuff..? Saying that I scammed etc. You know that trust and reputation is very important in this kind of business since people might be handing us their expensive equipments. If DQ hadn't fixed that problem back then, would I have 11 pages on my shop now?~ Oh, and you can still see the vote even now.

Same reason why the salt button was removed. Over abuse of it and such... Maybe we should add another tier of forums membership so people who actually post get to rate. Or when you hit disagree it prompts a reply in where you HAVE to state why you disagree. In that case, people who disagree just to be a (pardon my French) thundercunt can't be called out on their bullcrap

 

or disagree button can be grant for those ppl who has 100+ message so they cant make a dummy account just to spam disagree

 

Cant there be an optional for discussions let their be disagree button, buy and sell let there be no disagree button?
I saw someone post their selling in someone elses thread making the postee lose his/her sale and all the post stealer got was sad faces.

 

I do have to say having the disagree button removed is inconvenient for new members, those that are new to the game, and older members that want to quickly browse the new threads. I utilize the disagree and view it as to "stay away" from a thread such as a build or information that might be incorrect. It helps determine basically when something is crap without having to sift through 20+ pages of comments that could be completely irrelevant.

Honestly, this is just the internet and if people are going to get butt hurt about something get away from it and don't use it.

 

Seriously, is just a DISAGREE its not like its a I HATE YOU or a YOU SUCK or anything bad, i really dont understand why people b**** and cry when someone disagrees with something you say, grow the f*** up, i agree with what voo said, disagree help people know when something is wrong with a post, i disagree on post with false information, if you babies dont wanna get a disagree then get your s*** straight or just dont post anything, and again, is just a DISAGREE, not like its a DISLIKE that was already removed, this forum smh
