How to deal with players that 'fall in love' with /want to 'date' you?

Like you meet someone ingame for the first 5 minutes and they tell you they love you and stuff and also players who party with you and play a few hours...
Since many are nice people who are willing to help you and would even give me free stuff if I didn't always reject that - I don't want to sound mean or hurt their feelings when telling them I don't want to date or anything like that. And if you tell them I just wanna play the game they tell you stuff like: 'I will make you fall for me' or 'I will wait for you' etc...

I don't know, maybe I am just no good with people

 

Maybe I should just make a male character to avoid these kind of situations? Even though dressing up my avatar wouldn't be as much fun then

 

Simple. Exploit the fact they often can give you free stuff, and take advantage out of that. And when they're not useful anymore, just block them. Works like a charm.

Unless you're one of those "soft" types, of which, don't get me wrong - need to tough up.

But yes, that's the power of persuasion.

Daters in online gaming have always been an incurable Cancer cell that just spreads with time, most being composed by horny children that haven't hit puberty yet, or barely have any pubes in their private parts. Like I said, either take advantage, or hit the block on them.

 

And no, Toram wouldn't be an "anti-social" game. There's a barrier between playing like a normal person, roleplaying normally and being a desperate/thirsty horny child or teen.

 

Child....thats kind of disturbing. I had the experience. Someone asked me if I want to be their in game girlfriend...I was like...................................................... XD

 

Lol, yeah those kind of things happen all the time in mmorpgs, likewise Toram is no exception, in fact its a common occurrence. There is no definitive way of avoiding this. Even if you create a male character, while the difference will be notable, it won't fully solve your problem. Best way of handling with this is, well... Rejecting them XD, you should not really feel bad for rejecting a stranger you met in an online game few hours ago, you can try explaining this to them if you want, but you don't really have to.
(In case you came across one of those guys who just won't get it and keep trying, block, don't even bother, just block...)

 

It's funny - since two of my characters are females and one is a male, yet no one ever came by and hit me up with that dating/swiggity swooty crap.

As you would treat guys in real life you're not interested in, tell them upfront you're not interested. Don't beat around the bush. You may feel bad about it, but they will appreciate it way more then being strung around.

If they pull the "I'll make you fall for me" and you actually want to be their friend. Insist and explain why you don't want to date. If they're a decent person, they should understand. If they persist, question if they're really worth the time of day. If not block them. If they are indeed a worth the time, they'll eventually wind down as you reject them constantly. Don't flirt back, just be blunt.

That's my 2 cents. Peeps got their kinks. Some people like dating online and erp, some people don't. If you don't want to participate in it or disagree with their choice of dating, there's no need to be like Ram and scam them of their time and money. When they could find someone else that's interested in dating this way. Just don't be scum please. :/

 

First off. They should have walked into a that relationship knowing that there's a 685/1000 chance you're absolutely bat sh*t crazy, 300/1000 chance that you're clinically insane, and 15/1000 chance you're normal. It would STILL BE WORTH IT to get you.

As for normal people that aren't Vulpixsi. Yeah go for batsh*t crazy, works everytime.
