IMO, good combos doesn't always have to be 12cp or 16cp, i prefer short combos why?
Short combo : pros = quick, cons = huge mp cost
Long combo : pros = less mp cost, cons = takes long to finish
So, for me if using huge mp can save my life from fatal damage, then i'll take it.

So that's my opinion about short/long combos. I hope this somehow changed your thought on short/long combo. Let's get back to topic lol

    Astute-warcry(save)-trig.slash(cons)-javelin(cons)-impact(cons)-meteor(smite)-any(cons)

    Astute-trig.slash(save)-javelin(cons)-warcry(cons)-impact(cons)-buster(smite)-any(cons)

Use long combo at your own risk :)

putting reflex of even meikyo as fillers really helps 2h users specially if you use rampage as rampage sets your def to 0 and even using reflex or meikyo will still set it to 0 and not a a negative deff.
so before doing any damage combos, i set holy fist, berserk(save), rampage(swift). trigger slash(cons). this sets me up for insane ampr so i can use quick combos and gain mp very fast and so my def will still stay 0 even when using meikyo or reflex as fillers.

    -Buster, berserk(save), javelin(swift), warcry(cons), impact(cons), meteor(smite), trigger(cons)
if im solo and i battle flinch and tumble sensitive bosses, i replace javelin with meikyo(cons) or reflex(cons) and then put swift tag in impact. even if boss counters at impact im already at meteor animation and invulnerable.

    What i use with Mugen:

    300MP/16CP:

Tempest is lvl1, just for save, no need to up the skill

    200MP/16CP:

Low cost of MP, but stability decreased with Berserk:

Why Berserk and not Rampage ?
Coz Rampage disable the possibility to fastly repeat the combo and force you to use a high AMPR combo ( i use second combo like: smash-Rampage(save)-Buster Blade (nothing)-Trigger Slash(nothing) until Rampage final blow. for a 200MP combo it's sad :).

    About these combos:

You will notice that the proration is not optimal (no double magic attack before a physical burst skill), however, these two combos are very effective with a source of additional proration, a simple Pet is enough to modify the proration effectively.
My personal record with Mugen, my 2H, is 158K / hit with Buster Blade and 455K + 320K with Meteor Breaker (no buff, only Giga).
In a general way, the complete combo deals between 700K and 1.3M, depending on your equipment.

About long combos, I do not quite agree with Kazuki's opinion.

The two combos I presented can be divided into 2 parts. Until Buster Blade it is the part 1, which costs only 100MP and can potentially make 500K +. Impact acts as a fuse in addition to increasing the physical proration of Meteor Breaker, if the target becomes Tumble then the second part of the combo will pass.
The damage is there and the cost in MP is very low. Regarding the fact that these combos are long to finish is another story and will ask a little more anticipation on the fatal shots of some bosses, but imo, they remain more effective than the short and expensive combos.

If you play solo, without Pet or other players, I recommend the combos listed above, having a better proration :).

(This message is a Google Translate (sorry) and reflects only my own opinion)

Veterans tend to use short combos. Not everything is about how much dmg u can make.

Its Damage Done divided by Time for combo execution.
Even if u deal very very high number but took u 8 seconds to finish, and someone already did 3 high mp combos, with their rampage + trigger as ampr multiplier, they will outrank u anyway.

I agree with kazuki on this.

YES. that's what i mean, the shorter the time you take to execute your combo, the more combo you can use. and short combos works on short and/or long runs, while in the other hand long combos isn't really good when doing short runs/fast kills because the boss would probably be dead by the time you almost finish your combo.

is Berserk mandatory to learn for Buster/Meteor Player? I didn't learn Berserk yet because of the risk that low DEF/MDEF. Is it ignoble debuff?
