OHS shield dps

I have a idea about build a 1hs shield dps. With proton clarity rose., Main dps skill is buster blade. Depend skill is p defend. Stat:255 str rest is dex. Is this build will good for solo or dw is better choice.

 

DW is still a better choice. Why?
1) Buster blade is a great skill but its still weaker than shining cross. It also looses proation faster. (Ex spam BB 3 times first time 45k x3, second time 22k x3, 3rd time 8k x3) while compared to Sc which proation goes something similar to (ex. first time 150k, second time 120k, third time 90k) Its overall higher DPS for sure.
2) P.def generates massive aggro yet your build wont have much surviability with no vit or health items. The moment you get health items like defensive xtals and gear or even allocating some dex points to vit, youll lose out on dps. At that point its better if you have 2h which has survival or DW which has more dmg and 90% damage and ailment negation skill

 

With buster blade, you don't need proto clarity sword though its not bad to have more crit for your autos. You can go with semi-tank knight with buster spam+decoy. Str>dex>Vit for stats

But really, the only thing that makes it better than 2h as an aggro holder+attacker is the p.def

in my head, i could only think the advantage of 1H-shield dps are the utility like meteor breaker ailment and some of other ailments, a slightly better survivability compared than 2H (depend on the stat allocation of 2H) and the ability to deal decent damage while prorating thanks to berserk and rampage

 

I second this, I am also currently in the process of making a 1h/sheild Dps using proto clarity sword that can also double as a tank, P.def is more flexible to use, costs 1 mp bar, and grants the user waaay more chances of survival compared to a 2h, having the shield skill tree and maxing force and magic shield also gives 10% magic and physical resistance, plus you can stun enemies with shield bash, something a 2h can't do, also clarity's 70% physical pierce potentially gives 1h/shield users an edge against high def bosses compared to 2h.

With proto clarity, I plan to become the ultimate all rounder 1h/shield dps that can solo all the bosses, just like D.song's 1h shield dps, I already made my character look like goblin slayer xD

 

He asked if 1h/ shield is better for soloing compared to dw, not about who has the best dps, also when you're soloing, aggro doesn't matter, since it's only you who's fighting

 

DW still better. It takes long time for 1h shield dps to solo boss without op gear. And even if u have op gear dw will have more power than u

i think adding a 30-50 vit would be much better since u are doing a 1H shield dps
and if you want more survival side, i suggest u go for 1H+shield, but if you want more faster actions, and higher damage, DW is choice here

 

Using player style, 1H + Shield DPS can be very OP ... I have one, I'm still up (level 127) and have already "stolen" ranks from attackers several times xD.

Essa aula é magnífica! Com as equipes certas e um pequeno investimento, é muito bom.
Tanker improvised, regardless if you do not find a party, stunner, spammer and you can improvise a 2H Warrior

Meu status: Full STR > DEX

 

Meteor Breaker > Pdef for survivability change my mind
