Is Anyone Here A "Storm Reaper" Users?
[Using "Storm Reaper" As Main [Nuke Skill] Instead Of "Shining Cross"]

Im not storm reaper user. More precisely, i dont have any dps char right now. But i know one of my guildies use storm reaper. But i dont know whether she using only SR or also with SC

Anyways. Nah I Did'nt. xD Just A Distance Of 10meters. The Exit Is Too Far Away From it xD

 

Not a pure SR type, but mix of both (SR & SC).
TBH SR damage is good too, it just needed alot of motion speed if you want to utilize its slow motion speed, also its skill multiplier can be increased with dex, so dex stat is really needed to make it damage higher, also SR is unsheath skill which is gain more damage from unsheath stats and skills (dw passive and flash blast can cover this stats), and scales on long range damage stats although it cast on your default weapon range, i still haven't tested building a pure one but i plan too when asobimo gives free skill reset (not expecting that much, but hopefully so xD).
So far i like using both SR and SC, it gives more flexibility on this class

Yes, I Use Godspeed Wield As My Starter Skill For My Combo, Then SR For Main Nuke Skill, But A Bit Risky xD
Edit: Why Im Using Storm Reaper Instead Of Shining Cross Because Shining Cross Is Too OP And Popular, So I Tried To Make My Own By Using Storm Reaper. [Hopefully No One Gets Offended From What Ive Said, Many DS Users Got Mad For Some Reason But Im Only Sharing Mine :'(]

 

yeah u really need alot of care for that since ur using gsw xD
OR an alternative way and semi-safe one is lvl 10 saber aura, it gives alot of attack speed when its around 5+ stacks (read XIIIth sama skill thread for more info.), its good to use only though when u got a decoy deployed, otherwise its not good if you don't have decoy.

 

I mean, SR only is nice and all, but its a waste of the buff.

nope, SR buffs is 100% SRD, but when u used SR, its consider as long range skill so it uses LRD instead of SRD (based on XIIIguy skill thread).

 

Nope. The game considers Reaper a long range skill used at long range for damage calc (which causes the Long Range passive in the Shot Skills tree to work with it).
Don't question me, question the devs.

Oh, I see. Well if you really dont wanna use SC you can use meteor or something close ranged, that way it could still be smited.

Impact>SR(smite)>shadowstep lvl 8-10 (cons)

 

All I can say is it's not a good idea to use it in the events like Megiston or Anniversary unless you like just back flipping off the platform and having to restart depending on where you use SR.

 

i only use SR with SC, not without it because it buffs SC. SR as a main skill is kind of wasteful considering how it is designed to be a buff skill.

 

For me personally, SR and SC are basically upgraded versions of Pre D.W Revamp Phantom Slash (not cancelable) and Twin Slash.
SR instead of the long animation for Phantom to finish it's the backflip. Not that bad to get around but higher motion speed better
SC just been using it like TS with a longer range tbh

spin/impact > SC/SR smite > finale smite/ or shadow step save > trigger slash swift
astute > spin smite > shadow step cons > SC/SR smite > ender
Cross > spin smite/swift > SC/SR smite> ender/ or shadow step save > trigger swift

are some combos i been using SR with

I Use GSW+Kairiki On My SR Combo, Much Closer Like A Common DT Combo. Lololol "*Headslam*

Sadly there's a reason why the meta went only into SC. SR has a long animation so is better used when swifted. Using SR > SC together makes the most sense but harder to pull off well, and efficiently.
(Decoy >) Impact>SC just ends up being faster, easier and safer... sad though

Actually if you can keep the mp up, this is a nice combo to loop:
SC > S Step (save) > S Slash (con) > Impact (con) > SR (swift)
With SR buff you are doing 200% SC with 80% on a swifted SR to finish. Total cost 4mp and neutral proration (instead of the meta combo which is 3mp and 150% SC only).
