In need of help to understand new levelling methods

Hi everyone, I'm an old player who just came back to Toram and found myself extremely outlevelled. Last cap i reached was 105 or so i think and the methods back then were just nisel wood, bnuts, or nightmare crystals. And recently i've come to ask people how to level and they said just kill bosses. I just want to know if this method beats nightmare crystals and if it doesn't and i have no choice but to kill bosses, how do i found out which bosses to kill?

currently level 133, just finished the main questline again and not sure where to go from here, Thanks in advance to those who will respond!

 

The norm these days is to target mobs or bosses that is within 4 levels (or 3) with the level of the char ur currently using. You can see the recomendations on world map and you can also see the recomended level when you fight bosses.
Quest exp is mostly for the combat impared builds but nowadays there are ways that a production char can somewhat damage bosses at their level(if you dont have a friend to carry your production char you can solo at a very slow pace at least)
Best you set up goal for tier 4 skills first since it have been a long while(1 1/2 years i think from estimation from your level) dont forget to grab event gears! It will help you a lot in your return here in toram. And welcome back!

 

Appreciate the swift reply, friend! Thanks a lot. How long do you think it would take to reach 170? Quite a while? a week maybe? Or could I do it in a day with solid grinding?

 

Since you've been away for at least 2 years, there have been a lot of MQ updates. I recommend finishing the MQ up until the latest one for the extra exp, or save some MQ for difficult leveling parts. Getting to 170 should be possible in one week with enough grinding. It depends on your grinding, and the availability of parties at bosses/minibosses. Some bosses, albeit giving the most exp among others for those levels, may not have parties due to its difficulty and such. Also some people may not want people without lv4 skills in their parties, I hope you don't run into those people XD

 

1 week for 3 hours a day should be about right

And oh, we're having +100% exp boost atm

 

Since the great server down of 2019 just happen a few months back we are currently on boosted everything(rare drop is still stingy af tho)

Just confuse about tier 4 skills, 1.5 years?? I dont understand xD sorry

 

You get a new set of skills for all weapons when you reach level 150. We dont use storm as main dps for mages, we use finale.
1.5 years is just a rough estimation that i get from your level(since you said your last cap is level 105) toram always move level cap roughly 50 levels up every years(hence i can very roughly guess how long you have been gone from the game).

 

Cap 105 was when they first released the Evil Crystal Beast iirc. I think I was still one of the pioneering players back then and was I actively sought to fight the new bosses back then too, so it's not 1.5 years ago. I reckon Lv105 cap was during the last quarter of 2016 actually.

Here's a general outline for mob leveling for a returning comrade from a distant past: If the mob that is near your level doesn't die from an auto attack, or a low level skill, it's worth a lot of exp.

 

Ecb release is 110 almost the same time halb got released (early december i think) iirc the traumatizing full grind in the nc mines just to cap my bg tank. I hit the boredome wall when i capped it and found that grinding on ecb is both chaotic af and fruitless drops(kinky suit is still expensive) plus, i get slammed bigtime by asshats dps.(hence my obsession on pets and solo gameplay in general)
It was a bit of a lifechanging moment for me, altho im a bit ashamed on how i forgot the year when the change happen tho.

 

Well, I'm correct at the period then, since it was during the last quarter of that year. I remember it because ECB was the last boss I fought before I decided to stop worrying about capping at all. :V

Lv105 Cap is memorable to me mainly because we didnt jump from LvlCap 100to LvlCap105 straightaway. They raised the cap by one level at least twice before releasing LvlCap105. (Or was it 3 times they raised the cap by 1? I can't remember if we got to Lv105 from 102, or 103)

 

Basically any mob or boss that is within 3-4 levels has an exp multiplier based on how close are to the level of the monster (ex. If you are 105 and boss is 105...you get 10x as much exp) and it scales off as you get farther away 8x...5x etc.

If possible stop doing your MQ once you get to the ultimate boss Venena!!!!! I cannot stress this more you will almost 100% need that MQ exp to level 163-167. Those levels you have to fight WW(wandering wheel..a mini boss)which is an extremely high damaging boss and it's hard to get a good party there that can kill the boss easily. In my opinion that level range is the hardest to level in the game. That's why I reccomend just using MQ for those levels.

 

Thanks again everyone for the wonderful tips, I've been grinding my ass off and i'm finally at level 170 and unlocked my tier 4 dual sword skills, and it seems it's way easier to find a party now. I really appreciate all the wonderful insights!

Also,save some mq for 175 too if you are close range dps
Because to get into cap,you have to fight Mithurna Lynx that yield low exp and has to be mass killed.
Only Bow and Mage usually invited in there

 

You have Mardula nightmare and Bubble Bogey. Lynx doesn't seem that bad though, and its xtal is more expensive than Mardula or Bogey.

 

Uhm just finish mq and use coryn club to know what bosses to take on next

 

Another point that you may not know, sorry if someone posted this already I’m to exhausted to read everything, the main quest is for all your characters now. It’s still the same one but everyone gets to play from where you started off in it.
