What Luck Applies to...

    Ever wonder what the Luck Stat actually does? So did I. So I went about figuring it out.
    Luck does one thing:
    IT AFFECTS EVERY ROLL RANDOMIZER IN THE GAME.

    Most rolls in-game have a luck modifer. This means that luck literally applies to nearly everything:

    ALL BATTLE ROLL MODIFIERS
    All battle rolls have a randomizer in play. For all these rolls, Luck affects the randomizer directly at 4:1 These include:
    -Your rolls to hit an enemy
    -The Enemies' rolls to hit you
    - Your rolls to inflict status effects
    -The Enemies' rolls to inflict a status effect on you
    -Your stability (this affects range total not base total)
    -Your chances of a KO from Freeze side effect
    - Your Evasion and Guard Rate
    - Your Drop Rate and Rarity

    Q: So is Luck worth using?
    A: For a synth, definitely. But I'd use tech and lvl first then reset to Luck.
    For a BS...not really. Yes your stuff will be slotted and double slotted a lot more often, but your pot is at base. Its like a Vit BS making 2h swords. They suck compared to a Str BS 2h sword. So it's kinda...meh.
    For a farmer, absolutely. Your farmer will always get better drops. So make one that can farm/party well and needs only one other stat. A support (Pure Luck) or support tank (Vit1/Luck1) are a viable options. So are mages (Int1/Luck1) and Bowgun archers (Dex1/Luck1).

    Note: Since Luck affects randomizers directly, this doesn't mean your get hit less or hit more often if your stats suck. It only means that the randomizer is slowly reduced to half, making your Hit beat the enemy's flee more often and vice versa, etc., etc.,. This also lowers your chances of beating higher Flees than your Hit tho too. So maxing Luck for the sake of combat is not viable until Endgame. Fair Warning.

    UPDATE:
    OP has been edited due to devs changing what this stat does. All effects will be retested next month. Luck no longer helps item creations at all.

    Finally, an explanation for why my lucky character often evades and guards attacks despite not having any gear that has stats on them!

    Does it affect additional gears if u craft from the npc bs?

    This is an interesting guide and helps to peal back the curtain some. One issue I have which is very misleading though is this

    The reset stats book doesn't allow you to pick a new level 40 stat, only change the stats you have placed in that stat. To do this method will cost roughly 16 orbs if you switch your level 40 stat from tech to luck.

    actually it should cost 8, you're just interested in switch from tech to luck, not switching the point distribution ^^

    It appears to have no affect. This implies the Npcs use their own roll only. Which makes sense because it's them making it, not you.

    I didn't say "use a Reset Book".
    And this is just covering what Luck does and uses. I'm not going to digress on the op for the sake of a walkthrough for people. It is counterproductive.

    Well do as you wish just thought for those newer and free to play letting them know the actual cost of creating a character with tech then changing it later is either real money for orbs or delete and remake the character. No insult meant just wanted to clarify that. Also I'm not sure anyone int the "op" class is really using many guides at this point. Most using guides are not "op". Which is why most guides are geared towards newer and nonop players.

    8 for restat 8 for change level 40 stat. Unless you can change the level 40 without resorting all your stat values. Not sure if that's possible honestly. Only time I got the option to change the lvl 40 stat was after using the reset stat points book though.

    thanks for this guide man!!
    now i have no doubt that i will put the rest of my stat in luck, i got a hunt mage lvl 35, i only invested 50 int to my stat, so i guess that's not bad :D

    My advice:
    Unless its just a packmule (i.e. sits on same map as party and sucks up drops and exp as your other account kills everything) or a full support, I wouldn't let Luck be higher than your main stat. I'd say 2:1 is better and more useable.

    Luck does affects NPC crafted items. :v
    If I was using a char w/ no luck, I only get +4, +5, +6 def talismans in about 15 tries. I clearly get better stuff since I got more than 30Luck and Mining Bag on my char: In every 5 crafted talismans, i get a slotted or one or two +5, +6 def talisman.

    Heck, I even got a +8def nunhat and a +7def Fighter Chignon cap w/slot since I upped Luck Stat to 51.

    I just created a 'pack mule' the other day, and I swear that character is getting worse drops than the guy's doing the fighting.

    It's at Lv 40 with all stats to LUK and i also maxed the Drop skill to 10 (Support Tree I think?).
    Is there anything else I need to do for this character, to improve drop rates?

    Are we talking about farming Bosses or just farming mini-bosses/mobs? The way you said it implies that it is from mobs. If so, what you really need is a lot of hours farming mobs. As for Boss Farming, it is best if you also used boss support gems.

    Mostly some of the easier bosses right now, but so far the drops seem worse than what everyone else is getting. We've only been using them for a few days, so maybe we just haven't used them enough for the law of averages to kick in...

    I think I'm going to test my luck out with the blacksmith, we need some slotted items and I didn't realize LUK could affect that as well.

    I did a small sample test yesterday. The result was 58/5 base VS 59/5 pure luck. This was out of 25 crafts each and noticably different compared to pc crafting with only one extra point to Luck. I concluded this was just RNG.

    But if you think it does; make 25 items with a base and 25 with a Luck. Post results here.
