    LOL.
Part of me feels guilty on not having to design and decorate my house well, reason being for the loading time for others. :notlikethis:

I started mid 2016. I've only made really progress since spring. Of the three years, I probably only played 1 - 1 1/2 years, splitted up across each year. Where I'd come back only to stop playing again after a few months. So far this year has been the longest one I played.

When I started, I fell into the ''all-rounder''-trap (someone mentioned in a earlier post) while being the typical weeabo killer coat DW. And, now? I fell into this routine of waiting for an event while trying to level up a new char and then only to give up leveling that char. Because it was either too exhausting or I didn't like it in general. Which is why I try to take a breather doing other things.

    EDIT: I'm currently a part-time farmer (?) xD

no more peotic rambling but telling stories instead? ok, i'll try again:

i watched anime, i watched SAO, and so i came to watch other MMORPG animes as well. this awakened the urge in me to play a MMORPG. so i found Toram in november 2015.
i have seen it in the play store before, when it released in july, but the presentation was meh... and other games looked a lot more appealing. but i wanted a game that was like in the anime, one that does not focus it's entire gameplay around gacha traps like all the others. Toram was exactly that, and still is. (the only reason why i haven't quit yet)

while fighting Decel, my party members spontaneously founded a guild and i joined. it was exactly like in anime, except that it didn't last long. our leader became inactive after a few weeks and succession was not possible back then.
so we left and recreated the guild, but it failed. new members were very active for a week but then became silent. we even succeded in inviting higher level players, which we thought were pros, but they were very unmotivated to do any guild activities.
in the end we disbanded again, since the two of us (me and the party member from the founding guild) had different time zones and didn't come together that often.

so i looked for a guild at the forum, as there were a few big one around.
Potum contacted me first, but didn't have space (the guild size limit was pretty low back then), so i came to Avalanche.
however, everyone was from another time zone, opposite to mine, so i never met anyone and missed all the guild activities.
lastly, i tried to create my own guild again, this time in the forum and for the european time zone.
right then, i was approached by LiTing, founder of the female exclusive guild Heavenly Queens, which was just renamed Heavenly Angels and now accepted males.
she was very persistent about me joining. "time zones don't matter, we are from all around the world". not having any other options, i was drawn in by her strong and slightly forceful persona. we met in-game the next day, and 1 hour later they held a photoshooting event at the beach (Korda Basin).

i was the 4th guy to join, but the other 3 were not present that day.
LiTing said "foxy, come sit in the middle. this will be fun.", so i sat down and suddly i was surrounded by 20ish bikini girls.
this was more anime-like than expected, i knew that i finally found the kind of guild i longed for.

since i was considered an experienced player, due to my excessive research and guide posting, i became a vice leader 2 weeks later.
we had good times and sad times, many of the original members left the game, but some are still here and we are going ever further. (the other reason why i didn't quit yet)

despite having such a high status, i never achieved anything practical and was always lacking in level, main quest and other progress. i regularly deleted all my characters to start over with a different approach. i have tried all the weapons and skills in every combination, but was never satisfied with what i did. all my achievements where theoretical.

reaching lv100 for the first time was my biggest achievement, even though nothing happens at lv100. it was just the number that i never reached.
by the time i got there, everyone was already at 120.

regarding the lack of game info, i also fell into any trap there is. but since i kept deleting characters, good and bad alike, all of that didn't matter.
so began the era of a certain alliance that shall not be named. they appeared as an organisation of charity and goodwill, aiming to unveil all the obscure game mechanics with the power of science. and i was part of it.
but the more i went into research, the more i noticed how foolish and unprofessional they were. they used statistic on grade school level, proclaiming that the rate of something was 20% because it happened 2 times out of the 10 times they tried it.
some things, like the effect of LUK, weren't even properly tested at all. they just made things up that would be convenient and declared them as official.
the organisation slowly became more secluded and elitist. only selected people were allowed to communicate and access or share data, and only some of it.
i was still part of this, so i had access to the test data about the slot chance of craft items. before leaving, i copied all i could find and made my own verdict, which was much different from the result they attempted to publish later.
"attempted" because they didn't. they started to charge real money as research fee to give out their (incorrect) information.

after some hot popcorn drama, they disappeared from the forum. we were just as ignorant as before, but at least everyone was free to share info again.
sadly, they left a lot of rumours that were hard to extinguish. even today some of it can still be found on amino and people believe it.
eventually i stopped making guides, as the toxic level increased greatly and simply sharing your ideas, even without claiming them as "best", would get lots of negative responses.

it was the age of datamining, where everything became clear. the sad truth was absolute and anyone trying to shake up the meta by proposing creative ideas got burned.
i stopped posting guides, as it was too much work just to get bashed with dislike.
eventually the situation escalated and all the collected information was deleted.
overnight we went back to dark age and the legacy of a certain alliance that shall not be named showed again.
it made me sad that despite all the education and disillusion that old curse would return so easily.
so i decided to pick up my guides again, but i have found neither the time nor the motivation to actually write down anything.

even in-game, where i finally unlocked 4th tier skills, i just deleted characters again and started over.
i'm sitting here alone, striking diamond dust on a hill of dead characters.

i relate to this in a spiritual level, takes the word right out of my mouth, respect.

i too, miss the simple days when legends are sought, the truth is unclear but endless possibilities straight ahead, having companions to spend hours creating our own stories and charge up the front to uncovering the ideals of once such a "great" game i think, was the best moments,i was ignorant, blinded back then but i had fun.

    now
    >lame events
    >boring builds
    >rollback
    >bots
    >my old nakamas are gone
    >everyone knows asuccbimbo forked up more things trying to fix one small problem.

and i'm still here waiting for them to somehow magically pull out a big brain move to attract their players and community back.

Seeing all the people here and what keeps them going...

To be honest, I don't really know what keeps me going this far.

I started Toram because some of my IRL friends were playing it. I quickly outgrew them, and after some time they quit (The same thing happened on another game we played a year after. I really hope me playing the game seriously wasn't their cause of quitting lol). They came back several times, even had more friends join, but eventually they all quit. Even now I'm not close with the friends who first got me into the game, which is sad.

I've joined several guilds, but I disconnected myself from all of them when I left. My now-main account has only joined one guild, which I'm still in after more than a year. I've never really talked about my guild here though xD

After I knew what's wrong with the game, yeah the game felt less interesting. And then comes the rollback which snapped a lot of my good stuff. But for some reason I've made way more progress after the rollback than in the 2 years before.

Now what I have is just some spani, some friends I rarely talk to, and my guildies. I just do boss solo runs nowadays, with little time and motivation to make another build or farm stuff. I still enjoy dressing my characters though, not just armors and adds but weapons too. I guess.. that's the only thing keeping me around.

Not after rollback. The game had became more and more boring before the rollback happened.

    Good Question...
    Let's see started playing around June/July 2015-ongoing

Once upon a time, on a beautiful world called Toram... (This is a reference if you know you know)

Hiame set off on a new adventure, a happy go lucky moist 1H user who dreamed of one day carrying two 1H-swords, (For newcomers Dual Sword, Katana, Halberd didn't get announced till much later way after 35/45 cap). At the start of their adventure, they hardly knew what they were doing. Filling out every stat they could. Grabbing every skill and then questioning how tf does this game work. Spending all their orbs on.... avatars. They encountered many adventurers who would become decently well known in the future. such as a certain pink addict, a certain toramthropy, that one weeb who did an sao parody who has a dope ass clock, a certain old god, a burger in the ruins, fin, and many more to come!
As Hiame level up they soon joined a guild filled with betas and alphas players who would explain it gets more fun as the level caps got higher and how having a blacksmith or synth would be VERY good to have later on. The guild eventually died with the main members being lost to the higher plan called "real life".
Hiame was once again a soloer.

They continued to solo occasionally partying and noting how each class played a part in the overall boss run. How it was neat that vastly lower level adventurers can beat minibosses x2 their level. It was a good time, a time of unknowns, a time of making unique builds, and then... the GUN FU's appeared. Now don't get me wrong GUN FU's weren't... bad but oh boi the spam. Snipers everywhere! +F to Bowguns and eventually DS came out. Much grind much grind
New mage skills and new exp quests! From bnuts and wood to Magic Hearts to Nightmare Crystals! Wall Mages were slowly dying out.
Hiame became a 1H wielder carrying an extra 1H.
Tooo lazy to finish time to shorten
110/120 cap Much moist new guild new friends long time friendship.
130-150 guild hopping more farming new stuff but also dying game
160-now slowly getting known and losing interest but still having fun

But yeah, main thing from back then and now is mercenary system, CB, int worlds, pets, food buffs, halberd/katana, better exp system that level multiplier did much, stackable quests/turn ins, spina/high exp quests, variety of choices to market, SKILL DATA that's backed up. DECOOY DEBATES LOLZ
Less fun builds nowadays, oldies still around.
I stick around out of habit and curiosity on where the story will be going alongside waiting for more Iruna references and hope for Kaiser to come back sometime in the future.
My progress gear-wise, I went from using NPC/Boss gears from Forest Wolf Garb/Ooze/Astol stacked with evasion/agil xtals 0 refine to player craft/npc 2S gears +S and +B refine

    1. Lack of balance + RNG
    2. Gacha/Dress Up Game
    3. End Game content is meh, especially with how certain skills/builds you won't need todo much to have high dmg ehem halberd lol
    4. balancing skill trees < making more skill trees that are somewhat viable/useful
    5. Putting out new ideas that don't get around till 1-2 years later
    6. Little "fixes" that mess with certain stats that aren't visibly known or shown in game that play a major part but hey it's fine just use Rev 10's and tank the bosses high damage, or having 100% resistance or crit. Hit/Dodge essentially useless for newer bosses anyways, anything past venena and event bosses that came around then

    7. We're all weebs and lowkei masochists :3

    Money made, money gone.
In the world of NC it was once won.

Now we wait and now we play,
Tbh farming Venena is only mm k.

    Till next MQ,
    Our builds we redo.

    Time so lofty we await,
Till another XP quest Aso opens the gate.

But being a part of a Spriggan Kitten guild,
Its nice to see it active, online status filled.

I've been playing for a little over a year now. It took me almost a year to figure out what play style works best for me.

Started in summer of 2016. The game has come a long way since then.
    • We only had Sofya and Rugio. No elscaro....the map was a lot smaller back then.
    • Max level was 100
    • Nur was last boss for a while
    • Gunfu was VERY popular ()
    • Did not have level 4 skills so storm and snipe was where it was at
    • No halb (my current main)
    • It was amazing when the Christmas event came out with twilight dragon and inzanio
    • with that event came halb and also huge iron ball easy drop (for leveling). I made my current main (halb) and got it to like level 100 or 110 with that event.
    • Tanks imo were pretty much non-existent (I have a tank capped now)
    • The marionette hearts were pretty much where it was at for leveling for a while followed by nc later on (ugh made me hate mage)
    • duel sword’s best skill was phantom slash and had it...pretty bad tbh xD (imo)
    • You pretty much hit gold when you unlocked storm.
    • Killer coat was the hot armor for player crafted armor for a long time.
    • There was no house back then, and I actually really wished they would add guild rooms on the game and wrote a review and everything about it. Now they have houses and a link through guild bar (so I got my wish)
    The now~~~~~
    • I still have friends from back then that play the game still just like I do.
    • I have times when I slack and do not go on as much....
    • I’m doing pretty well on the game now.
    • Rollback actually made me boost way higher than I was in the end (I got lucky)
    • Halb and knuckle tank are prob my favorites.
    • There are still nice and cool people playing just like then (there was rude people back in the day too)
    • We get collab events a lot now, do not remember those from before...but they are pretty cool!:)

The game and the forums went straight down the toilet since 2015 , back then you could use any weapon skill build you wanted and no one would kick you cause your not meta dps. Even with less content the game was more entertaining. The quality of threads and posts here have stagnated heavily to pretty sad. I guess all the exploring and learning aspect has been replaced with mediocre whining
