    1) Staff/Shield
    INT(focus)/VIT/DEX/MTL

    Specializes in defensive support.

Main Skill trees: Magic, Priest, Support, Shield

    Armor Type: Light or Heavy
    > You want as much defensive power as possible for the event you are hit during casting. Light armor wouldn't give much benefit unless your aim is to have a hybrid of Guard and Evasion on the same character which is possible due to guardian's guard rate boost and a high guard rate shield. Heavy is suggested due to the natural defensive increase.

    Combos:
    a) Shield Cannon > Guardian (Save) > Sanctuary (swift) > Impact (consec)
    effects:
    - Stun ailment.
    - Boosted Guard Rate.
    - Damage reduction Array against weak attacks.
    - MP cost of next skill halved (even if it is an aura skill.

    b) Maximizer > Shield Bash (Consec)
    - Stuns a single nearby target after charging MP.

    c) Magic Javalin > Backstep (Save)[skill comes from assassin tree] > Magic Arrows (Swift)
    - Adds an elemental ailment to a single target.
    - Creates distance between you and the target.
    - Increases the speed of the next magic based on the level of chain cast.

    d) Blizzard > Impact (Save) > Magic Storm (Smite) > Guardian Beam (Consec) [BUGGED COMBO!?]
    - [WARNING!]Cost is supposed to be 1MP but is 4MP due to Guardian beam not working properly with the consec tag.[WARNING!]
    - Best farming combo in that guardian beam takes care of straggling mobs and you don't need absurd equipment for high level mobs.

    e) Magic Wall > Lightening (Swift) > Impact (consec) > Finale (Smite) > Meteor (Consec)
    - Wall blocks weak enemies from getting within melee range.
    - Lightening adds paralysis ailment and does some minor damage for free.
    - 150% Finale Damage
    - Chance to wipe out stragglers and add ignite ailment with meteor.
    - Hard to use in solo situations due to length of root time.

    f) Stone Barrier > Impact (Save) > Guardian Beam (Swift)
    - Adds a barrier which for some reason considerably reduces fractional damage.
    - Adds a defensive attack beam which can deal damage and knockback weak enemies.

    g) Impact > Magic Burst (Smite) > Backstep (Consec)
    - 150% Burst damage.
    - Speed of Burst execution depends on magic used before.
    - With 1k CSPD, you need 3 Magic skills used before using this combo to get instant Magic Burst.
    > With 3 Magic skills, the Impact from this combo adds the last charge to bring it to 4 which is needed for instant magic burst.

    2) Staff/Dagger
    INT(focus)/AGI/DEX/CRT

    Specializes in prorative damage.

Main Skill trees: Magic, Dagger, Assassin, Wizard

    Armor Type: Light
    > With this build, though you can use parrying dagger for guard rate and power, you won't get as much benefit for it as a shield user does such as skills and passive bonuses. As such, an evasive style combat is recommended here.

    3) Staff/Magic Device
    INT(focus)/DEX/CRT or MTL
    > Would suggest MTL as pure magic builds are prone to ailment effects during casting.

Specializes in high cost magic combos but relies on evasive style of combat.

Main Skill trees: Magic, Magic Warrior, Wizard, Battle

    Armor Type: Light
    > With a pure magic build like this, you don't exactly want too many normal attacks hitting you to cause magic flinch.

    4) Staff/Knuckle
    INT(focus)/STR/DEX/CRT
    > Despite having STR, don't expect much damage from martial skills without AGI.

    Specializes in offensive support.

Main Skill trees: Magic Martial, Priest, Wizard

    Armor Type: Light or Normal
    > You want light armor for proximal combos where you need to lockdown a target.

    5) Magic Device
    INT(focus)/AGI/CRT
    > Although you are a pure magic build, you still need CRT for your normal attacks to hit for AMPR MP regen

Specializes in war. Built correctly, they never run out of MP, can support their party and can assist dps. Damage is less than staff early on.

Main Skill trees: Magic, Shot, Wizard, Battle

    Armor Type: Light or Normal
    > You do not want to get hit during casting so light armor is recommended.

    6) Knuckle/Magic Device: Knuckle is a hybrid magic and physical weapon...
    INT & AGI (focus)/CRT

Specializes in offensive support and damage. Currently impossible to build effectively.

Main Skill trees: Magic, Martial, Crusher, Wizard, Priest, Magic Warrior

    Armor Type: Light
    > You need high evasion as a defensive measure on this build as you will be in melee range most of the time.

    7) Staff/Arrow
    INT(focus)/DEX/TEC or CRT

Specializes in crafting and/or ranged offensive support/dps.

Main Skill trees: Magic, Shot, Hunter, Wizard

    Armor Type: Light

    ______________________________________________________________________________
Weapons which use sub magic device
    1) Bowgun/MD
    DEX & INT(focus)/CRT

Specializes in single target and frontal AoE magic bombardment. Will almost never run out of MP between decoy shot, MP Charge & Maximizer and Resonance.

Main Skill trees: Shot, Magic, Hunter, Wizard, Magic Warrior

    Armor Type: Heavy

    2) Sword/MD
    STR & INT(focus)/CRT

Specializes in single target magic bombardment with area fall off damage.
I.e: Your attacks will be focused on a specific target but since all your attacks are AoEs, you will be able to wipe out weak enemies (eg: normal mobs).

Main Skill trees: Blade, Magic, Wizard, Magic Warrior, Knight

    Armor Type: ??????

This is awesome!! ^^)b Oh! And there’s also Staff + Arrow. I guess its specialty could be... Proration, ailments and MP conservation?

    Oh forgot about that one.

It's actually a crafter type but you can use arm break to make a 2MP finale combo, not that I recommend it with increasing level caps. Can also work as offensive support with shot and hunter ailments.

    Stats
    INT(focus)/DEX/TEC or CRT

Main Skill trees: Magic, Shot, Hunter, Wizard

    nice :bloodtrail:

can you elaborate the staff/arrow crafting thing?
production takes half your stats and skills, decoy shot is unaffected by power wave and crossfire is main weapon exclusive. what special things can the arrow mage do with less stat and skill points?
i always thought of arrow mages as a more offensive variation of dagger mages.

my own synthesist is a MD bard, since bards can't do much so they don't need much skills either.

Well, with arrow, it has more efficiency with trap skills which in turn are affected by TEC (At least ignite trap is) following this, decoy shot is horribly inefficient for mages who can MP charge and Maximizer from any range and the fact that arrow really doesn't have a dedicated skill tree.

Arrow mages can still do damage but it'd be specced to long range mostly and you'd have to rely on the proration from arrow skills.

Beyond 255 INT and at high CSPD (5k+ or so), mages main DPS changes from finale to magic burst which is 8m and has a 5 MP cost making arm break not so useful considering you can quite litterally want to spam burst, which is much better with Sub MD RNG bonus CSPD, for now at least, unless wizard tree gives a boost to CSPD at 215.

If anything, daggers are more equipped to fight at that 8m range VS arrow mages who are more strictly rear-line combatants and because they have less need for other skill trees, they can take crafting skills easier VS other magic types.

Saying all this, it doesn't mean that arrow mages cant DPS, it just means that their base is lesser suited for it especially as CSPD becomes easier to increase and burst's damage rises (With elements, INT, LRD/SRD and Battle skills)

Here I am waiting until you post something about BG+MD...

Efficient MP recovery against stationary enemies due to Decoy. Can use Decoy & Resonance for semi-spammable Finale which results to insanely high aggro.
    Wide area of effect
Can easily make use of magic crit under certain conditions.

Basically a build that tries to make use of Magic:Finale/Burst and Cross Fire but unable to be as strong as their focused counterparts. Can effectively troll any build types too when done right

ಡ ͜ ʖ ಡ yes, I specifically do that last part. Let the proration ride a sinking boat

BG isn't a magic weapon but I'll probs make a note on it.

It's like a magic engineer build. Can go DEX/INT/TEC or DEX/INT/CRT.

Won't recommend finale over magic burst for the build unless you party often because finale clashes with crossfire in that it roots you during casting.

Main Skill trees would be: Shot, Magic, Wizard, Magic Warrior, Hunter

Yes, I realized that a bit late back then so I put it in the back of my mind afterwards so I tried to make it lean towards that. Unfortunately rollback struck when I was almost done with it so it became a wip ever since then. I didn't even get the chance to show it off.

Anyway, since I feel like I'm steering this off-topic let's get a move on. Thanks for the list you made. I'm not really one to make notes in the game so it's quite nice to see someone do it.
