Magical Assassin?

The combo setup for a magic based assassin is hard as hell to figure out.

No matter what, I couldn't reduce magic burst combo cost below 3 MP and I couldn't keep the cast time skills out of the combo.

I can't figure out how to boost, or even if I should boost arcane strike's damage outside proration. The fact remains that this skill has terrible MP efficiency and needs either more damage or appropriate status ailment to compensate.

Overall, I like the combo style so I might do a few tweaks and try to make use of my heavy hitting skills for high difficulty bosses.

 

Question, why dont u smite arcane strike after a random starter or something?

it's mainly a movement skill with an ampr buff.
the damage potential is average at low mp but doesn't scale well at higher mp.
assassin stab does a lot more damage.

 

Did it to have max MP for high multiplier

 

Need to switch up the skill composition for the combos here imo. It's pointless to use Magic:Arrows to speed up Magic:Lances when Magic:Arrows itself is inherently slow. what you want is to spam between magic:javelin and magic:mpact constantly to build up charges for Magic:Burst.

 

Yeah which is why I'm thinking to use Magic Javelin for the starter of my next combo rather than poison dagger and just screw away with magic arrows. The thing with Javelin is the animation time which is slow and not much different from magic arrows on swift imo.

 

Wouldn't the smite tag cover the loss of 1 mp bar tho?

 

You lose a 1x multiplier which translate to 1.5 (not directly) with smite tag. With the current combo setup, it leaves me at near max MP to maximize the damage. The only thing I'm missing is a neutral skill to prorate damage before execution.

Arcane Strike's damage is terribly inefficient though, even with near max MP on smite tag.

 

In the case of my personal SwordMD mage build, I use Astute>Meteor(save)>TriggerSlash(swift)>Javelin(cons)>Impact(smite) as my setup combo for a TriggerSlash>SwiftAttack(save)>Burst(Smite)>Impact(cons) w/ Burst having 3-4 charges

For your build, it might benefit from using GSW
