    Some background : In lockdown, Me and my younger friend, want to play something together. Team up and beat monster. Toram online seemed like a good Dungeon type MMORPG. I downloaded the game about 25 hours ago.

    So, I am ... scared. We did a few missions from the Story, and when my friend went on a break, I spent some time researching what's in this game. It seems like the skill and stat points are much Valued, and if I make a mistake it might affect my Endgame.
    (I believe I already have blundered, Martial skill no. 1 at lvl 7.)

    I would like to go to a wiki, but there's Wikia, Coryn Club and that other app (Starts with A). Also, discord is not allowed till lvl 60. So, there aren't guides for people at lvl 25 or so, which I am at.

    Now, I read the pinned post on Reddit, and most of it made sense, but I have a few more questions. Answer them individually by numbers, or if two questions are related, use both numbers.
    [ If there is a guide that answers everything here, please tell me. ]

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    1. What are the core areas of the game (eg. Story, farming, Smithing, Market, etc.) ?
    2 . What are non core areas? ( like House building? )
    3. What level is too late to change a weapon, assuming I spent no stat points?
    4. How long can I go without assigning more stat points so I can change weapon? (let's say I have Knuckle, So Agi and Str are decent)
    5. What are all the things you can increase?
    (The six Str, Agi, Dex... etc ; and the ATK, MATK, etc. ; maxHP, MaxMP, etc.)
    6. Is played ATK and weapon ATK (and other stats of equipment) different, and damage is a combination of both?
    7. What ways are there to get more weapons? Are all weapons non tradable?
    8. What is the lock symbol over the knuckles I got from the Consignment board? Why is the attack in a weird way (50 + 4)?
    9. Why is ATK like, 56 (70 %)? What does the percentage mean, and what factors affect it?
    10. CB has prices ranging from 100,000 spina per item to 1000 spina per stack. How to determine true value?
    11. Can someone show me a Website or a page showing some of the math behind combat? (I understand that attacks of same type wane over time, so you should diversify, but what else?) Like, how does ATK and Crit translate to damage?
    12. Does Str Agi and stuff have any role in affecting Atk, Def, Mdef, etc? What _does_ have a role?
    13. Where do the processed items go?
    14. Is there a way to know where to find items required for crafting in game? All the sprites are same for a type.
    15. Why does everyone call the story Main quest?
    Are there other quests not related to main but part of story?
    16. What do people and parties do when they complete story? Fight each other? Is there PVP?
    17. Why is Lvl 150 so valued? How does it relate to having multiple characters? How do they interact with each other?
    18. Is spina Universal for all characters of mine?
    19. Some common abbreviations?
    20. How does a player become a blacksmith? What's the demerit?
    21. What are mercenaries? Players, NPCs, or my other characters?
    22. What happens at level 40? As a knuckle player, what should I do?
    1 & 2. There are no definite cores about Toram, as people can just do whatever they want in there. If I really really have to say, Toram is either about being the strongest or simply dressing-up game.
    3,4,5. You don't have to use just one of your character to swap between classes. After a while you will be given free other 2 slots for making other characters within the same account. So just put your stats into what recommended for each weapons. The only thing that cannot be tampered by manual stats adding is your MaxMP. You either increase it naturally as you level up, or you use equipment a/o crystals to increase it, or you can also put some skill point into survival skill; MP Boost.
    6 & 11. They are different. ATK is the cumulative stats of many values including Weapon ATK, and ATK stats is just a part of the thing included for damage calculation. The formula? I believe someone can explain it better than me.
    7,14,20. You can get weapons and armors by enemy drop, NPC crafting, and player crafting. The materials needed are shown in the crafting menu, as well as where you can get them. There is smithing guide inside karii's awesome guide of guides pinned in toram guide section. Weapons and armors dropped by enemies are 99% nontradable, with the exception of those with color dyes dropped by ultimate difficulty bosses. Weapons and armors crafted by NPC are 100% nontradable. Weapons and armors crafted by players are 100% tradable.
    8 & 9. That means it is locked so you cannot discard it voluntarily or by accident. The +number besides it is the refinement value ranged from +1 to +S (after +9, it goes to +E, +D, ..., +A, +S). The number percentage means the weapon's stability that makes your weapon don't always deal maximum damage.
    10. Through blood, sweat, tears, and mostly experience. Huehehehehe.
    12. All stats have roles, and offensive stats vary depending on which weapon is used. That's all I can say.
    13. To your material points.
    15. We call it Main Quest because clearing it gives us experience as reward. There are side quests which are repeatable and also gives rewards.
    16. Do what we wanna do, with no one telling us what to do. And no, there is no PvP.
    17. Have you explored all of Sofya yet? Do you know we can buy skills from the one and only NPC inside the Sofya's Library?
    18. Spina is in-game's currency. Orb is real life premium currency. Self explanatory.
    19. BKoD = Black Knight of Delusion. Andeg = Anti-Degradation. NC = Nightmare Crystal. SS = Summer Shells. 1S & 2S = 1 Slot & 2 Slots. etc...
    21. Why are you asking the obvious things?
    22. Nothing happen at lv 40. The real thing happen after you get to level 150. So just finish your Main Quest first!
    Don't be afraid to make mistake, most people on the game have rebuild their character over many times to find their most comfortable playstyle.
    And you shouldn't rush your pace too much. It's not like there's pvp here :p
    The main important things are level i guess. You only need one character at max level to unlock all skills that you want. Once you did that, even lv 1 character can use any tier 4 skills (if you have enough sp to get it :v).
    I'll help you find some useful guides on this site.
    You dont really have to worry over a char at 25 x3
    You can delete it (once you unlocked another slot and change to that char as you cant delete the char ou are currently playing as)
    Simply do the mq, it'll easily take you to 145+
    The main lvls that effect you as newbie are (as l remember) 30, 70 and 150 :3
    30 = unlock 2nd tier skills
    70 = unlock 3rd tier skills
    150 = unlock 4th tier skills
    170 (an exception only for dw) = unlock 4th tier skills
    205 = ...uh..not sure ._.) Had to get to it to unlock satellite(skill for archers).. -w-; )
    General idea for common stats :
    2h (2 hand sword wielders) : Str > Dex (30-50 vit for decent hp so you dont die ; vit can be added or ignored for all classes)
    Mage : Int > Dex
    Archer : Dex > Str
    Halberd: Str > Agi
    Dw : Agi > Str (more speed) or Str > Agi (more dmg) (at higher lvl it balances out so doesnt matter)
    Katana : Str > Dex or Dex > Str (a forever on going debate)
    Tank :
    (Commonly) Mtl(for ailment resistance) > Vit,
    or Vit > Mtl (as at 255, it gives 75% ailment, 100% reached via equips etc)
    As for common abbreviations?
    Some that l had prob with when l started n didnt know xD
    Ifp = Invite/looking for party
    Ifm = looking for member
    Dps = technically means dmg per second but we use this term to show that ya we are strong and fast in terms of dmg so invite us.
    Fb = full break
    Fk = fast kill
    100k = k= 1000 so, 100,000s
    1m = 1,000,000s etc
    Difficulties:
    Norm = normal
    Hard ..it tells
    Nm = Nightmare
    Ulti = Ultimate
    To get invited?
    Generally players shout out 'lfp (difficulty) (main skill)'
    I wont mention 3rd tier ones, but
    4th tiers are :
    2h = Meteor
    Mage = Finale
    Ktn = Tenryu/Garyou
    Hlb = DT (dragon tooth)
    Dw = SC (shominning cross)
    Archer : CF (cross fire)/ Sat(Satellite)
    This helps others know what skill you have and makes inviting random but selected ppl easier ^^)
    Random facts:
    • Current cap is 210
    • Players like to Level, farm stuff, etc
    • Crafted weapons are tradable, drop or weapons crafted at BS from shop are unreadable
    • Joining guild helps alot :3 many ppl to help you, and strong mercs too!
    • Xtals drops from mini boss/ bosses are invaluable and can be sold for quite alot, keep em to sell em!
    • Running around, making friends, farming etc unlocks different emblems *-*)
    • Advice? Dun trust random strangers too much
    ^^; ) some can scam, trusting friends or Guildmates is ok thou (if u think so)!
    • BS = Blacksmith in case ya didnt know x3
    Good luck on ur Toram journey ^^)/
    Okay, based on what I read here, on the Reddit where I posted a similar question, where Amaymon helped me, I have gathered this :
    Knuckle is not endgame. Parties don't generally want it. I can make a Knuckle tank, but 1h sword is better as a tank.
    Okay, I'll somehow get to lvl 70 and then second character as a Farmer mage with Storm skill, to get lots of loot. That's the plan currently. Or I'll get my Irl friend to do that on his second character, so the party has one.
    I visited Coryn club and got to know most of the interactions of stats and the math behind stuff.
    Should I make the first character Knuckle tank or knuckle interrupt OR just a quick character to get to 150 and then discard once second character is at 150?
    P.S. The spirit of playing is that I wanted to team up with my friend to battle monsters together. I think Main quest will satisfy us for a while, but I have to maintain pace with him.
    I'll recommend joining a guild, so at least there's some place to bombard your questions. They may even help you! Depending on guild
    You'll have to shout looking for guild and be invited tho
    Tbh no one documents low lvl cause most players just rush levels with mq (mainquest). Imo level only gives you base access to "endgame" skills, what makes you powerful is really your equips and assuming you don't allocate stats randomly. Real game only starts at 150 as someone said.
    It's really best to have a guild and a class you want to build first, and ask a guidie who uses that weapon as main for advice.
    For MQ everyone will suggest to go on Easy mode with mercenary. Mercenaries can be hired for free from Community> Friends/Guild> Hire Mercenary. It's a simple slave copy of your friends or guildies, only one at a time tho.
    I'm sure it'll be fun to do mq with a friend! :)
    and who decided that?
    well, yes but acutally no.
    both can use shields, and that's all that matters.
    there will always be a situation where another weapon would perform better, and there will also be a situation where that other weapon is ineffective.
    you can never have everything at once.
    it's your character, not theirs.
    if you want something, do it yourself.
    what if your friend doesn't have time? this setup might work for you, but no one else will share his their loot with you.
    there is no quick. even if you do cheat your way through the main quest on easy mode with a high level friend/guild mercenary, it takes a lot of time and you'll only get to lv148.
    with no equipment, no combat experience.
    no. put it into practice. many things work out much different than in theory.
    take your time and explore.
    you will notice much earlier if your build idea will work or not, or if you need to make adjustments. once you are at the end of the main quest it will be too late.
    don't rush it.
    the main quest doesn't even go all around the world. many areas are just there and you have to go there on your own.
    You need to know each boss' characteristics and attack patterns to be able to know which tank or character is best for fighting that boss. All weapons have different play styles and some play styles have bad compatibility with some bosses. 1h sword tank have more aggro skills and can have more potential to do damage while tanking, while knuckle tank is needed on some bosses because of its better interrupt skills. It all depends on the boss you're fighting, know the boss first, if it has weakness, know the skills, THEN decide on your playstyle(skills, combos, equipment, etc.) This is especially important in the higher levels, where some bosses have very strong attacks that you die in 1 hit. Don't worry if you die too much, that's normal especially if it's a new boss, you get better as you get to know the boss more and develop countermeasures to avoid or block its attacks.
    Okay, we decided that we both would make our second characters Magic type when our first ones reach 70, to use Storm skill for farming with magic device.
    But, I don't get what exactly is late game. The first reason that I joined this game is because I want to battle monsters with my friend. If I rush MQ in easy mode with mercenaries, I don't get to play with him, experiencing the story together.
    Besides, look at this cycle : complete MQ with Mercenaries on easy to get closer to 150. Why? To get Tier 4 spells. Why? To make farming easier to earn more spina, and to get into better parties. Why? To get better equipment. But why?
    The main quest is over, so unless the side quests are extremely hard, I don't get why you would want to get better equipment, especially when there is no PvP.
    I don't want to get better equipment just to farm better. Unless there are areas to explore, adventure, which require equipment higher than main quest, I don't see why to rush MQ.
    Wait.... Is it events? Is everyone preparing only for limited time events?
    Existential crisis HAHAHAHAHA XDDD
    Well generally I suppose just want to become overpowered (OP). To do bosses above easy and normal difficulty generally requires good equips and lvl to do good dmg and end it faster/
    Because boss in Hard and NM and Ulti has 2x 4x 6x about that more defense
    It perfectly fine not to aim for OP-ness and enjoy the mq itself, however just a word of caution that you and your friend may likely be unable to complete boss runs of higher difficulties (including most event bosses)
    Ah, I guess Nightmare and Ultimate boss modes can still satisfy the craving of fighting monsters together.
    Some people in game were taking about 'lfp for dungeons'. Are those Dungeons part of the story or something different?
    If I was playing solo, and discovered the game myself, I would have completed MQ as fast as possible, to stand on the edge of the cliff waiting for developers to build more cliff.
    But he only gets to play every evening, and I have stuff to do of my own, so I think MQ will keep both of us entertained for quite a while.
    We won't get invited in parties or guilds presently, but it's fine. Both of us will be having some career determining exams in a few months anyways.
    Maybe, someday in the future, when I have a stable job, and Toram is still around, presumably with VR, I'll return.
    So you're the reddit guy huh. It's not like both of you can't play together if one is already at higher level. You can always suppress your character's power using [Sealing Bandage] by 50% and not use tier 3 or tier 4 skills at will. If you guys somehow manage to catch up to MQ, then you can go grinding together in preparation for new updates. Why prepare? Why try to get stronger? New updates bring stronger and challenging enemies. Fighting and growing together is fun. Winning together is fun. Since you're against the idea of going on ahead, just enjoy the game in your pace. You guys can take your time.
    Edit: Just to clear things up in case others misunderstand. I only said knucks damage are underwhelming compared to other weapon types. I never said it is not an endgame thing. People will start throwing rocks at me if they misunderstand.
    You could just wing it!
    Seriously though I think you can just get one of your character to level 150 first, and then create another character to play wth your friend. Each character have their separate story progress so you can just unock tier 4 skills first by yourself. But if you want to explore the game with your friend while maintaining similar progress, then you could also do it that way. It really doesn't matter how you should go about it. Getting to lvl 150 should only require a week or so. If you made a mistake, there are free resets given to you from achievement emblems. And don't delete your lvl 150 char, the skill unlock is based on your highest leveled character so if you delete it, you'd lose the access to the tier 4 skills too, unless I'm wrong.
    The main content of the game is the endless cycle of farming, leveling, events, rinse and repeat. Joining an active guild add more spices with self organized guild events.
    If fighting strong monsters was what you wanted to do with friends, then MQ is not the place to do that. People usually flexing on events where challenging bosses appear. Also yorokobe shounen, the upcoming anniversary event is where the mayhem truly wrings players out. There are many event stages to fight, and each stages always have 3 bosses simultaneously to defeat.
    T/N: Yorokobe Shounen means "Rejoice Boy"
    Dungeons likely refer to Gem Dungeons at the Sentry. Those dungeons require Mana Gems etc. Haven't tried them so not quite sure how they work
    /throws pebbles :3
    Well most classes have their own unique traits and gameplay style, just what one prefers, though it's true some classes are less popular than others
    It's great, Brahmic, to enjoy the MQ. Sometimes I feel going back to low levels/creating new characters are super fun: high level grinding can become so brain-dead boring.:p
    It's also super fun to try different classes! I recently tried a halberd and had a lot of fun playing gsw+ one hit die build xP
    Its a cycle of goal and process, and you enjoy every bit of it. Just like life. It will last till you get burnt-out, just like how death is imminent. The question is whether you enjoy your life to the fullest.
    The game always have updates though, and these updates are what kept the playerbase going. New main story, new bosses, events, skill trees, gears, level caps, etc
    You can also challenge yourself with the battles, like doing solo runs. I'd recommend watching these solo videos since its also one of the attraction of the game compared to other mobile rpgs, which usually doesn't have engaging battle mechanics.
    u can do mq with friends, works best when u're both doing it from beginning to end together so u get thrown into the battle together. without doing mq, u'll lose access to certain maps with certain bosses/mobs.
    basically this game is a dressed up game disguised as a dungeon crawler. you rush mq to get better skills so you can polish your character to farm the new trends on fashion in game. whether you like being a cute loli or a muscle less edgy anime protagonist is up to you but basically were doing this for fashion (at least I do XD)
    although some plays the game to farm spina to be sold for real money (which is illegal)
