Hello I'm a noob, started 2 weeks ago.
I got a 220 katana, a luck mage for farming spina and a tec character to refine, however I've hit a roadblock. I have no idea how to gear up my katana. I'm using the weapon from miku event, a crafted armor which gives HP/resistances and a ring with 400mp. How do I proceed from now on? Do I refine my katana or somehow get a new one, what armor and ring should I be looking for?

It depends on your budget. But if you have a high budget
I'd look for a 2 slot 5th anniversary katana S refined with Str % Att % and CCC20, and look for xtals like gwaimol and odelon
or armor I'd look for 2 slot CCC20 Att % Usami and Baphomere xtal
Ring probably dark talisman power 1s or 2s if you can afford with venena and seele zauga

    Thank you for the reply.
What do you mean by budget.. Ingame currency or real money? I don't mind farming jelly for a week to get spina. I don't understand anything you just said. I just checked the 5th anniv katanas on the auction house and for some reason none of them have any stats, just base attack.

Yeah I'm talking about ingame currency. If you want you can add me on discord at Yoonster#2433 and I can explain things to you there. This way of communication is inconvenient for the both of us

The +1000 aspd, +100 critical rate katana from the miku event is quite decent if you're fighting against critical resist bosses, it's also the best katana if you're aiming to copy Hivan's super speed katana playstyle(you can watch his vids on youtube if u don't know), but for normal people its hard to copy his playstyle, especially for newbies like you. So better to get a statted katana and armor like what Risolarin just said that focuses on pure damage, search "toram medium budget katana" on youtube and you'll find which exact equipment you need.

What I am interested in knowing is how did you manage to cap your katana character without proper equipment. People usually kick people out of their party if you don't do enough damage.

I'm using the exact same katana. Just because I'm new it doesn't mean I can't perform mechanically. I'll definitely check the video, I love the high attack speed gameplay especially with gsw

Up until 150 my dmg was horrible got kicked only once tho because I didn't know cerberus mechanics at that point. Afterwards it became a breeze my dmg was high enough to perform well

This is almost 2 weeks old so you probably got your stuff sorted by now. I still wanna add that most people seem to get one off on player crafted equip. Almost every weapon type has a competitive event/drop weapon which is even situationally better than player crafted gear. Those weapons are also a lot cheaper (if you have a tec and luk refiner, which you do). Most people just look for the highest damage number possible while failing to understand that skill damage =/= DPS

you probably should refine your weapon first. +B if TEC
then if you have full Luk char you can try to refine it to +S

That sword is pretty good for now.
Then you can start investing in a Player stat armor
even 1s for now is good enough. You may think you can afford 2slot but then if you dont have the budget to attach xtals on it then it wont really feel like a 2s for the investment XD

6th anniv is in a few months, your katana may be good for a while until then, ask the katana experts. Hopefully it's still good enough cause that will mean you can just use that weapon until you can get a player stat on 6th anniv.

If you don't need a new playerstat weapon then go ahead and buy the add gears and the special gears along with the xtals

I'm pretty sure you know all this stuff already so I'll write this down for the new players.
I've noticed a lot of my guildies are struggling with leveling. What I suggest to them is finding a lvling guide, making your own groups in int1, a positive attitude and plenty of free time.
Majority of the leveling process happens with boss fights. Knowing the boss mechanics, not dying and doing your "dmg quota" is very important to an efficient boss spam.
Let's say you're tanking venena, knowing how to tank her properly and never lose aggro is a must, otherwise people would just keep dying and leaving the party which leads to a huge downtime in which you could've been spamming venena instead.
I'd suggest leveling solo with a merc up until 80ish lvl and then proceed to group up till cap. Hopefully this helps for the new people

    You're lucky in 5 things.
    • Free time
    • Being in int 1 always, never finding it full and never getting kicked out
    • Getting a party immediately whenever you play
      • You live in a good timezone.
    • Choosing the Meta classes.
      • People like to play how they want, with their own experimental classes, and often they are not the best at DPS.
    • You get people who are themselves good at dps.

Yeap I have to agree on that
The hardest thing about leveling is always getting a party. Especially the deadspots. They're empty most of the time, you'd be lucky to find people there doing the same thing as you

The people are the hardest thing in Toram legit XD
but being a nice person is a pretty good thing
we always need more of those in the game
