Arrow Rain - Worth it for a Sniper?

Hi All! I was just curious if Arrow Rain has any value for boss raids? Is this strictly a mob farming tool (which would be, I imagine, inferior to Mage's Storm Skills) or can it be effectively used / needed for some boss fights?

There are some videos circulating around that feature Double Smite AR & Snipe. I was thinking if this will provide overall higher DPS than single smite Snipe combos.

 

Arrow Rain deals a massive damage for me. The best I ever did was 25k each hit (x8) = 200k total damage, purely from AR.

Idk why, so I have 2 combos:
A. 2 smited combo (AR and Snipe)
B. 4mp combo impact - snipe (smite)

But the Snipe Damage of those 2 combos arent that much different in most cases.

 

Arrow rain is nearly as powerful as snipe is if every wave of arrows hits. It's worth using, for sure. Double smite is always iffy because of proration, but it will overall improve your dps a bit. If you don't spam your double smite too much, it will deal massive damage.

 

I tried souble smite ith AR and snipe before and arrow rain seemed to be effective against immobile bosses. As long as every tick hits, it will give a decent amount of damage, almost as much damage as snipe.

 

Exactly this. Arrow Rain is kinda wasted against bosses who move a lot in a big map, like TD, Tapir, Imitacia etc~

 

Ah! It was your video actually that got me thinking into putting points into Arrow Rain. I was a bit surprised by the AR damage output there. Can you give me an indication what Attack Stat you had to trigger that level of damage?

I was actually a bit worried about this. Does AR count as 8x phys skill in proration or just 1x? In Arkana's Sneak attack video, AR hit for 20x8 and then Snipe still hit 200+ which seemed to indicate maybe it only counts 1x?

Arrow rain is only 1x prorate not 8x reason why arkana can do such high damage is because his merc prorates for him every skill in the combo becomes maximum proration if you have a high aspd merc.

To do that much I would say you need 1600+ atk 210+cdmg elemental arrow also max the long range skill with that you can do 210k+ snipes at max prorate and a small chance to do 250k+ if you get whack lvl10.

P.S. Please miss I am nowhere near a god. I am still a nub compared to the person that taught me everything.

 

Thank you for clarifying! That's an interesting point. I really need to practice Proration better. Also, as the say goes, knowledge is most valued when passed down, a disciple eventually becomes a master.

On Arrow Rain - I assume they work best when a boss is properly kept in place via a tank. Would it have a material DPS boost putting it into the combo or is it something that can be achieved via prorated snipes? I only have a few points left (learnt the Sneak 10 & Smoke 5 from our earlier discussion & Arkana's videos) so I am not sure if I should put them in AR or maybe get that extra 33 attack from making atkup10 and inti5.

 

Hmm.. In my opinion, based on research, Sneak Attack works best for long combo (mostly 2 smited one). Because say, if you use Sneak lv 10 as opener, it will hide the agro of 10 attacking skills afterward. With that in mind, AR is by far your best choice for 2nd damage output after Snipe to use in that long combo.

And 33 attack will not do significant different in your damage output to be perfectly honest.

Nb: at Level 150 cap, shot skill 4 will be available, means you need at least AR at lv 5 to open the next skill anyway.

 

Yep I think everyone already mentioned the stuff about arrow rain.
You will need a tank that can pin the boss and also learn how to control your aggro if you wanna use it as a double smite.
Its just a fun skill to use and obviously not good for all bosses but I think it is still better to have than the tiny 33atk from battle skills. Oh and you will need it at lvl5 anyway to get the successor skill of snipe at lvl150 so theres that too.

Try divide your combos instead using 1long combo. I use sneak combo which is 2mp with AR skill. Then 1mp combo.with snipe. Then the impact snipe. 3 combos in total

I saw your videos, that was awesome damage. But prob is higher chance of getting combo disrupted if bosses flinch or tumble.
