Drills never ever miss. So I do not have any difficulty whatsoever hitting any boss. Skill delays.... Shell break has a fast animation and is followed by 300 mp worth of skills using the swift special ability.

Heavy Smash isn't terribly important most times, what with 40% + 36% resistance and over 18k health.

Combos are designed for 2 objectives. To interrupt large scale AOE that can damage the party and to hold agro. Small scale AOE or linear attacks should be side stepped.

Ampr is of course important, I have an avatar that gives me +7 ampr. Though it is very very rare for me to ever even come close to running out of Mana in battles. Recently a Nightmare Gem run on Leon took less than 5 minutes, and I was using a long ass 2mp combo. Once Sanctuary was up I would auto attack for proration, the only skill of his I was concerned enough to interrupt was his "Linear" attack where he smashes everyone within range.

My combo is 2mp cause it starts off smash> sonic wave (swift). The smash can cause him to do massive knockback but the wave stops him from doing so.

 

You can actually: Sonic Wave - Shield Bash (cons) at the start of battle against Leon.
It's 1mp and he wont cast the large scale AOE, since after thumbled by wave, he will be stunned right away. Please note that sometimes your attack can still be evaded, even if you are using Drill.

You mean Additional Gear? Well, if I were to ever have a second slot in that, it'd more than likely be Candela.

It's only good when you get hit, but who would deliberately do that just so the xtal to have it's purpose. Candela would be benificial on this slowpoke. ^_^

 

Well we are talking about tanker here, of course we will get hit, like it or not. And I find +100 mdef is quite good.

 

Mhm but if your mdef already 250+ like mine 100mdef only reduce 1% damage.
Ckc shouldnt cost more than 1m tbh considering its usefulness. It already dropped from 7m to 3m because I kept nagging everyone.

But im agree with the overpriced part. Maybe people think it's expensive since the mini boss is kinda hard to farm (considering the other mobs around who can knockback and all).

 

Even with light armor I am able to get 250mdef on my tank never go below that unless I use arrow sub weapon.
Also shiny powder pot gives mdef+100 aggro+10% in case you have low.
Investing in def/mdef is a lost cause in this game unless theres a gear that gives like 3000-5000def.

 

Hi @Selladyn I got a few questions.
1 - Is tapir armor is good for tanker ??
2 - For additional, is it wise to use unicorn helm or nure mask ?
*any other additional gear suggestion is welcomed
3 - Is magician's ring (meme+aranea) good or I should just stick with dark bangle or mistletoe ?

1.)You can use it for dark ele boss if you dont like negative aspd from twilight dress for non dark/light briga npc still better.
2.)Jiangshi is better than both of them ^^ Nure may look nice but having more than 20k hp isnt good for someone who uses pdef often.
3.)Depends on your party if theres no spammer it should be fine but for spammy party stick with dark bangle.

 

1.) Tapir is good tank arm for dark element bosses and Imitator, who uses a dark element attack and ignite.

2.) Jiangshi Hat is better than both, as is Adel cape. I used Unicorn Helm from level 60-90, before I learned how superior resistance stat is over defense. Nure mask... The negatives are really really bad, and as my learned friend mentioned, having over 20k HP puts a strain on Perfect Defense and Revita.

3.) Magicians Ring is a good starter special Gear, though as you start tanking for parties with spammers / long 1mp combos, the additional +25% agro is very much needed; though, spamming to hold agro isn't recommended unless party composition is 2+ magic proraters. I don't use Mistletoe Talisman anymore, and will update my gear as I replaced Grylle with Candela yesterday.

Major revisions on the way, strongly considering converting to semi-dps high attack speed tank what with the major martial changes on the horizon not to mention unknown tier 4 martial and support skills.

 

A simple question, by mental, you mean the Intelligence stat right?

 

Mental is a personal stat option. At level 40 you can choose a personal stat (luck, critical, technical, mental) depending on what you require, or if not required you can leave blank.

Mental increases resistance to status ailments. IIRC 4.1 Mental adds 1% resistance. Status ailments include sleep, lethargy, paralysis, slow, etc.
