Best Pet to Tank and Build

Well, take a look at the post by BambooKid in this thread: Is there a better Pet Nature Chart?

According to the formula stated there, a lv 10 Rage Attack from a DEVOTED pet would generate 1400 aggro. Feeding that skill through only normal attacks at a rate of 20mp AMPR per normal attack means 1400 aggro in the time it takes for 5 autos plus cooldown for Rage attack (after the initial MP pool has been flushed). I can't estimate how much the Absorb MP skill would help if you had that too.

 

I'm back. It seems the rollback killed all our pets so we have no choice but to start over. I've decided to take everyone's advice and go for a Genius / Devoted Pet with either staff or magic devices as its weapon.

Which weapon is better for a tank?

 

If you are building a tank pet. You never look for damage(unless you are building a vampire pet like mine) aggro management and pet aggro generation is the step one lesson.

 

It is going to be a vampire tank. So is staff or MD better?

 

Any of 3 is good(they have the same damage gain *matk* per stat anyway)

How is it going with your pets?

 

Having a meele char with a pet is new for me. Arcane stab really helps in aggro management so far it is more complicated than a katana build but total fun to use. I opted for a ohs assasin for more flexibility. It is more like an ampr build than anything else(forced proration is kinda fun somtimes). Sadly a healing tank is a one of a kind build and im currently buisy as heck burning all my resets and trying out compatible builds for pets.

 

I feel for you. I've had to start over as well but that's only with one pet. You had a bunch of them e.e

So another question; do pets affect proration? A tanky vampire mage would pair perfectly with my cf.

 

Yup, pet affect proration. When i am grinding to level 150 my pet's magic lance hits harder than my snipes(since i am using a long a$$ combo).

 

Pojo or Blaze Ant (for those sweet and fast magic autos), MD/staff, P.defence, Devoted.

Legacy skill. The best ones for a tank in my opinion are RageAttack10, MpAbsorb10, Cover10, HpAbsorb10.

Too lazy to raise a legacy skill, im pretty sure we'll be fine with crappy inherited skills lmao, but if i were to choose I would go with MpAbsorb.

Fusing. Assuming that my first pet (with the lvl10legacy, maybe) has got everything correct, I just need a Phys.Defence bubble angel fodder with either one of these: Staff/Md weapon type or Devoted nature.

Skills to choose after fusing. RageAttack and maybe HpAbsorb if lucky, First Aid, or if I wanted to - Heavy smash for HpBoost if lucky.

Stat points. Piling as much onto vit as possible while making sure matk stays higher than atk, weapon type makes it easier anyways.

Active Skill. Rage Attack

Combine all of this = profit? What do u guys think

 

All skills listed above are great legacy skill for tank

Rage attack: prime aggro generator. I mean, you can just have this and just pump meat forever(fodders can take up any "other skill" and i mean just pick one and start pumping vit early)

Mp absorb: great for tanks much better on justice nature since you only need to mind hp

Cover: it may save your left buttcheek but not your whole butt. It will not make you immortal that is a fact. But it is a hidden life saver if you are out of luck.

Hp absorb: the vampiric skill that will forever be imbalanced. Since it is ether your pet always suck too much hp(dps+vit) or it suck at getting enuf hp(vit+dps)

 

I finally finished building my vampire tank pet
Unfortunately his stat page doesn't include the extra HP that he gets from level 8 HP Gain but it should be around 33,332.
He also has level 10 HP Absorb. I might do another fusion some day to bump his level cap higher and inherit a level 10 HP Gain.
I didn't plan the dyes at all so here he is as a pink and blue Mitta Tret who cries orange tears.

 

Looks like a kcf's hidden menu. Like the double down,double down dog, and el chaco. It is meat on top of meat goodness!

Your build also works very well. Since you have cover, you don't need aggro. So my pet is a "hit me" tank while yours is a "spongy survival" tank with some great dps moves too. I like it. I did build my pet with my crossfire character in mind which is why I went the aggro route rather than sponge route. The black ganglef is adorable too. Also, 254 fusions?!?! I guess that makes sense since you got three ideal skills on it and probably had to pray to RNG for that magic lance. Seriously, you did a great job.

By the way, what's that number in brackets underneath its power? Is that its old power from before toram capped the power to twice our level?

 

with my melee char the 'cover' protects with a similar amount of 'guardian' from shield skill while it also heals itself using 'Absorb HP' when i take aggro the whole time.

with my 0% aggro CF it just there to hold aggro and busy avoiding AoE while i support it with 'pet Heal'.

always aiming for : blinding attack > mp boost > shield break.
but RNG never fail to disappoint me.

254x fusions mostly from aiming for 1k pet's power back then before they capped it.

and 'yes', manage to get 950+ yet is useless till level cap reach 475+.

It took forever, but my magic tank pet is finally finished!!
I'd like to say thanks to everyone in this thread and others for info and insight on helping me decide on my pet.

 

truth be told "making the best is never a constant thing here in toram. it is only be updated." and the best part of having a pet is it actually NEVER ENDS. you can always push further than what you have at hand because Suzuki put cap on almost everything except one, pet stats is never capped same as fusion number limit. making a frigging op pet is never actually impossible that is a fact. it just takes a hell of dedication and time to do it.(and of course it is all due to the need of capped pet fodder to be fed to the monstrosity that you are building). hope you can both enjoy and keep it up and share your tale as you walk in hell of grind fest for your prized pet.

May I ask what you farmed to get (at least 2 of your) pets into the lvl 170+ region?

BTW. What's the meaning of 380 (478) on the attack power?
