BowTana (Bow+Katana) Hope ?

Let me introduce my self.
My name is BierSong.
After retired for 1 years and im back.
I don't know where to share this build.
On Archer or Hybrid build.
But it doesn't matter right ?
By the way, let me say something about BowTana (Bow+Katana) build.
Correct me if im wrong.
I need your opinion.

Update level 110

Stat : Dex>Str
Equip : Bow (Main weapon) + Katana (Sub weapon).
Since this day, i only use low equip with crystal mp+200.
Equipment

BOW :
Any bow with high crit damage or anything, depending your playstyle.
KATANA :
Sumire renkyoku (crit damage+10 for any mononofu skill).
ARMOR :
Medic coat (maxmp+300, hp regen+15%, Aggro-30%, ailment resistence+15%) for low aggro.
Assassin garb (crit rate+15, physical pierce+15%, Aggro-15%, dodge+15, evasion rate+15%, anticipate+15%) for crit rate.
ADDITIONAL GEAR :
Laurel crown (aggro-30%, ailment resistance+12%, dark resistance+12%) for low aggro.
SPECIAL GEAR :
Ghilly sheet (dodge+5, aggro-40%, aspd-20%, cspd-20%) for low aggro.

Total if you use medic coat + laurel crown + ghilly sheet is aggro-100%, but your damage is low.

1. Use first combo and wait until Cross fire loading and your hand become red.

3. Launch arm break until kairiki ranshin/moeba shot in range 13m~14m.
4. Pulse blade launch until decoy shot in range 12m.
(Why ? you can move when boss AOE at your place)

Why use bow+katana ?
I will explain that things.
Why use meikyou before snipe ?
Up crit rate for next skill. Even when you use low crit rate from equip and crystall.
You will reduce your crit damage when use meikyou+snipe ?!
Okay, back to your first question. Why i use katana as my sub weapon. So, no crit damage reduction from meikyou.
What is the weakness of bow+katana ?
Need tank to cover when we attack.

I did same plan on my head and create my bowkstana char several weeks ago, but I abandoned this work when my char on level 75 after skill bow level 4 released, bcoz after I counted my sp will be less to optimizing skill bow level4, except for next cap level release , but i will looking forward for this build after you got skill bow level4 as my preference

yup, need a lot of thing that we need to do when use BOWTANA.
Skill point is one of our problem when shot lv 4 use as main damager.

 

what's the penalty for using katana on sub weapon??

also, if the katana had element would it work like arrow?

There is a penalty when using katana as sub weapon.
Without katana as sub weapon : HIT 296.
With katana as sub weapon : HIT 283.
HIT decrease by 4,3918919% if we calculated.
(i think its doesn't matter, since you can do crit 100% using meikyou without crit damage reduction).
About stability, is there any penalty ? i need to explore that.
It means, you can use shot skill and katana skill (you choose, which one is better).
For now, i can't use cross fire because i need to cap my lv first ( lv 150).
I think element katana won't work for now, maybe it will work until the new update (i hope).

 

Very nice actually, very similar to the one I made before 150 skills came out, now that the skills are out i will say if you plan on using crossfire for dps, you may need to switch off Zentei. And Tenryu and Garyou are decently hard to use, Renshin however is amazing. The one I made is in my signature, if you see it is very similar to yours and if you wish we can talk about BowTana builds (which should in hybrids)

 

Meikyo does not give a full 100% crit rate. Just 90%(10% to fill the gap by 34 crit stat or sandogza or any crit gear weapon or armor in the current circulation will do). I also have a bowtana build that is tamer based. It is an interesting build to use and it feels like playing with a swiss army knife. Very versatile but damage output is kinda meh if you dont pay attention to proration, elem damage, etc.

 

After messing around with it, I've found it is adding a layer of attention to katanas already attention-based skills. With having to make sure you dont get hit when using Crossfire, using any physical katana skills puts you in a warning range. What I do is Tenryu with Crossfire, charging a crossfire while rushing the boss with Tenryu and your broken AMPR. With bow katana, AMPR is the last problem. Meaning, it is kinda like a swiss army knife, where it can fill many jobs, but itsnt the best at them all.

My fault. Thanks you for your information. So i can focuses on equip then. Yup, damage is not enough higher than bowgun. Last time i do SNIPE at Flare Volg at Nightmare around 40k at lv 70. and use an ordinary equip.

Yup, you right. the main problem is AMPR. Need 14m+ to activate Shukuchi. Since shot skill is a range skill and mononofu is a melee skill. About cross fire, i need to find an information about that.

1. Using shot skill as main damager.
2. using mononofu skill as main damager.

My opinion : do not try this one, because it still a prototype build. Until the build is already fixed.
2nd build, mononofu as main damager.

 

Meikyo lv10 give crit rate +65 if you equip katana as your main/sub weapon, meaning if you have +15 crit rate in weapon and armor it will give you sure crit (25[base crit]+15+15+65 = 120 crit rate)

When you reach lv 150 and learned decoy shot and kairiki ranshin, AMPR won't be in your list of problem, since decoy shot will give you extra AMPR from decoy attack and kairiki ranshin will give you +25 AMPR for 30secs

For crossfire info, you could search in game guide sub-forum, they almost completed the skills information

About your build, i don't think learning unsheathe skills will give you any benefit. I prefer using crossfire and snipe as my main damage dealer and having garyou as an extra damage when in long run (spam snipe with pulse blade as combo opener) since snipe and crossfire already deal decent damage. Tho it's all just my perspective and assumption. And as you already know, this build problem is the skill points.
Ah, aside from that, maybe magadachi will become your lifesaver

Ahh.. tbh, you dont need to learn it till lv10, it will be a waste of sp
Combo opener that dont have any other utilization/benefit better keep it at lv1 (or keep it at lv 5 in this case)
And, you better try the skill by yourself to pick the right combo

 

yup, you right. I've been deleted that thing.
I've been replaced that one depending of boss i fight.
Pulse blade for another smite skill on my combo.
Use support skill make me gain a lot of aggro (like warcry, bless and etc). So, better not to use it if i want to be a silent DPS. Except if i want to be counter boss attack using zantei. But, honestly for this build on thread i choose to be a silent DPS.
Next time i will share about TanaBow (bow+katana, use mononofu skill as main damager).

You can try spamming pulse and snipe. If armorbreak procs do your dps combo kairiki-clone-triple thrust(if lazy, crit is boosted by kairiki anyway)/meikyo-garyu
It is much easier to break armor with snipe, do the burn in a distance, leave a clone for boosted autos and mana refill, then close in for the kill with garyu.
Bowtana can quickly fill all the damage req of garyu, except lacking the 2hand passive tho.

With all the things nessesary to get garyou to do the large damage it can do, youd need A LOT more time in battle to use monofu skills or to use monofu skills mroe than shot skills. I wouldnt say that its bad, but it would take a lot of preparing that most of the time you wont have. Also, with a long combo like that (while I know you use -aggro) with a boss that hits people that arnt aggro and bosses that have skills that hits where everyone is, it can cause you to be caught in a place where you will get hit and die without being able to dodge out of the way (Like for example Gwaimol).

Maybe you can give me any suggest for short combo.
Yup, use mononofu skill as damager give me take a long time.

 

Split the combo into a snipe and crossfire combo, then you can add to your other combo

Moeba -> smoke (save) -> Meikyo (con) -> snipe (smite) -> literally anything (con)

2mp (after charge)
Meikyo -> crossfire (smite) -> doesnt matter (con)
