Hi, I'm currently making a blacksmith character and was wondering, how does proficiency affect what you can craft? like for example if an item is lvl 145 and difficulty 170, what level proficiency is needed to craft it? Also, I heard that if the character is a higher level, potential is higher, how are the numbers calculated? Thank you!

    • Difficulty is what you need to be able to craft that item (if your diff is more than the items, you can craft it :3)
Diff is also what you keep in mind when lvling prof
    • Proficiency isnt used in crafting, its used in statting now, higher the prof, lower the mat cost.
    • You gain diff from tec(most), dex(second most) and str(lil), As u gain more prof, your diff also gets higher
    • Potential comes from Your stats,
If you use Str>dex ur 2h,bow, etc will have more pot based on stat count (if 255 str, then 25+ pot from base, and if 290, then 29+ pot)

    I think thats it..?

I see.. I'm currently making a crafting blacksmith, so does this mean that proficiency isn't really that important?

    Profiency directly raises Difficulty Level.
also, Difficulty just unlocks recipes, the success of crafting depends on your Profiency Level.
crafting an item way above your Profiency Level may greatly reduce success rate.

Ahh I see.. Thank you. But that brings me to the original question of how much each level of proficiency raises my difficulty level?

    As l know,
Each prof lvl raises 1 diff
    1 prof ^ = 1 diff ^

I see, so assuming the above example of 170 difficulty, i would need BS Proficiency 170 right? Then lets say I didn't reach BS prof 170, and made up the difference with TEC. Does the success rate/potential of the craft now drop?

    Each 2 tec = 1 diff ..
So .. 255 tec should give ya 127-128 base diff ..
While 6 dex gives 1 prof

    As l know ?
    Without tec/dex?
You need to make up by higher prof, for :
    • unlocking that wpn,
    • success rate

If the diff (via prof) is higher than the crafted item? The success rate will be more ..
If the diff is lower, chances to fail..

Easier route will be tec>dex, since that would also provide you diff..
So difficulty up from : tec(2)>dex(6)>prof if u combine all? Decent diff

    For success rate?
The formula as l was shown was :
    10+(difficulty of char-difficulty of item)+ str/10
[remember, if ans in bracket is negative, know ur success is lower(most probably towards failing/negative side]
Assuming u take str>dex, tec>dex route or something..
