thinking about returning sooo what are some must-have skills for mages, md mains, priests and knux/md? i played until nemesis update but didn't stay long enough to test that out either.

also what's up with the new description of skills like magic burst in cc? can such skills still crit then?

MP Charge and Magic Arrows, obviously. :p
what do you mean? there have been no skill changes lately.
as far as i know, no changes have been made to critical hit mechanics.

magic attacks just got elemental damage bonus scaling with INT, and stability can exceed 100%.

    whaa... how can that be...?
i was referencing this from cc:
"Magic: Burst name and effect animation will change depending on its element:
    • - Neutral: Magic: Burst
    • - Fire: Hell Inferno
    • - Water: Eternal Blizzard
    • - Wind: Force Tempest
    • - Earth: Gravity Turn
    • - Light: Punishment
    • - Dark: Eclipse
This effect is purely aesthetic, however, and has no other effect on gameplay"
or maybe i'm wrong and this has been the description all along
ah that's nice to know. thanks for your help!

the in-game description is just the top text, everything else is additional details discovered by players and datamining. i guess the info has been updated recently, but the skill effect was always like this.

10 INT convert to 1% damage bonus of strong element, but only for magic damage.
magic stability still uses the same formula as before, but the cap of 90% is now an interval from 90 to the actual max value.
for example, if your magic stability would be 120% it will now fluctuate between 90 and 120 instead of being capped at 90.

It means some magic skills, instead of just a mere color change like most other skills, will also have their name & visual animation changed depending on the element. Use Magic: Burst as an example:
    • Neutral Magic: Burst animation is a white wave in a cone shape
    • Hell Inferno is a yellowish-orange fire wall moving forward
    • Eternal Blizzard is a bunch of ice spikes
    • Force Tempest is 3 lightning beams moving forward
    • Gravity Turn is a bunch of rock piles
    • Punishment is 3 light spikes forward
    • Eclipse is a bunch of dark spikes
And as written, those are purely aesthetic purpose. Basically having element only changes the name & the look in addition to the usual DTE, and nothing else. It makes those skills look cooler than most other skills when having element, and that's it. Just look at Cross Fire, all we have with element are white Cross Fire, blue Cross Fire, yellow Cross Fire, purple Cross Fire, etc...

Magic : Burst skill has advantage of element from staff, same with Magic : Crash and Magic : Cannon.

If your staff has awakened element stat, that stat only applicable for these skills. Magic : Finale wont get it since Magic : Finale is neutral element.

As for nemesis, awakened element on staff only applicable if your staff has light element.

IMO, true mage now must have Magic : Cannon, Magic : Crash and Rapid charge (have magic pierce buff) for harder bosses. Nemesis and Magic: Burst are good for mass kill mini bosses. I only use finale when its safe to use/to kill small fry bosses/mini bosses.

DTE is applicable for all magic skill, same as physical skill.
