Does the new exp system affect pets?

Now that we get significantly more exp for being within 4 levels of an enemy, it's much easier for us to get exp, but does this affect pets, or does the system remain as it was?
I did some testing and my pet leveled from 61-62 from doing flare volg 4 times, and from 62-63 by doing an additional 6, which seems a bit fast

 

I believe it does because the rate my pet lvled from 77 to 82 at 1 boss was unheard of for me at low lvls even with the exp boost from feeding and it got ridiculously harder at higher lvls until recent

 

I just got confirmation that the new exp system does not apply to pets

 

Yah, pets only need few grind spots as long as it is within 30 levels gap (good reference is your daily emblems) meaning, you can cap your pet by just killing 5 or less type of mobs in the whole process.

1- 45 or 50 bone dragnewt
45- 55 bigmask
55-85 ms
85-cap(110 approx) dy or iconos
Fuse and repeat
