Dual Wield Discussion

Go read the thread man.... I posted it.... this shows u didnt read the thread at all.

 

This livestream showed just the Dual Wielding swords main weapon type, right? People have been saying there's TWO new skills tree, if this is one of them, then... WHAT'S THE OTHER ONE????

Are yous ire dual will be released on sunday? Because if they said it in the stream its very possible that its just for japanese version :/

 

Yea might be Jap only for now, then US/Inter l8r. Remember TGS starts tomorrow, and end on the 20th. So they might release it for the players in Jap only.

 

I'm hoping this isn't an AGI based class really at all. Reasoning is that it will make the class very tanky. I don't really feel like there needs to be another class with the tanking capabilities of 1H and Knuckles. I'm also hoping it won't be good at Breaking. Again, 1H and Knuckles already have that covered. I'm hoping it will be a fast attacking pure DPS class. I highly doubt it will be slow attacking and it could be anywhere on the AOE capability spectrum. Overall AOE is fairly balanced in this game with some being a little better and some being a little worse. It should at least have an okay AOE though like every other class lol.

But yeah with my experience with Asobimo and other MMOs it wouldn't be all that great for it to have AGI as a main stat as we will have 3 tanks and I believe they will make them a fast attacking pure DPS class.

Hmm.. the picture of the Sony phone with the dual wielder. .
Looks to me like the 'change appearance' screen.. if it's a 'create new char' screen, it should show the famous adventurer garb.. the char is wearing a new armour that's probably not released yet

I'm guessing (I might be wrong) that dual wielding may be a skill at a higher lvl..
But I guess it could be possible that dual swords could be a new breed of weapons.. I'm looking forward to it too!

 

Can't wait till season 3 and Asuna is gone forever and all the kiritos commit mass suicide... and I'm way off topic.

I really hope dual wield will be a skill for swordmen. Someone already mentioned the mechanics from another game, so it could be like skill lv1 u can equip off hand but sub weapon has -?% atk and stuff. Would make 1H Dps more solid since dagger isn't the real thing...

Judging by that it seem to be the sword equivalent of knuckles or something and it seemed that u dual wield normal 1 hand swords.

 

Another possibility could be a higher tier of dagger skill (dual wielding)?

Here's the info I have. *sigh*
Dual Swords are a new skill tree that will be available from level 5. Dual Swords level 1 unlocks 5 skills. Dual Swords level 2 will be available from level 30 and unlock 3 skills.

You do equip two one-handed swords. I'm not sure how much the sub sword applies to stats; can't figure out the translation. I believe it's intended to apply different modifications to each attack based on which sword is hitting (different element swords, for example).

Normal attacking with dual swords deals 2 hits. A full combo is 6 hits. Dual Sword normal attacks can not be canceled by skills.

Dual Sword Skills Include:
Dual Mastery - Not sure...
Baling Sword (Single-Target Melee) (100 MP) - Delivers a scissor cut; can knock down.
Air Slide (Ranged Attack) (100 MP) - Knocks Back (Range doesn't seem to be particularly far. Seems to leave a field behind; may act similarly to Magic: Wall or just be a single-target attack.)
Twin Slash (Single-Target Melee) - Slashes with both swords at once.
Step Reactor (Ranged Attack) - Delivers several strikes; can blind. (Uncertain about blind; range seems to be about 16m.)
Dragoon Sword (Ranged Attack) (300 MP) - Not sure...

Oh, yes, and Astute can be used with Dual Swords.
