I don't really understand how Gloria works. Sure, it claims to triple your def and mdef stats at max, and the stats reflect this when its active. However, I still take the same exact amount of damage from any attack. Why is this, am I missing something? Here is a screenshot I just recently took taking a hit from a monster without Gloria active. IMG_3304.PNG

and here is a second screenshot I took of getting hit by two of the same enemy type, with Gloria active. I take nearly identical damage, despite having supposedly triple def / mdef... IMG_3305.PNG Any info into why this may be would be appreciated.

Def/mdef work diffirently in toram, unlike other games, those stats here are almost useless

Would you care to elaborate? I can clearly see myself taking significantly higher damage when Im not wearing armor that grants me 80 def, and I constantly see talk of Gloria being a great skill for solo players and tanks. If it makes nearly no difference, what is it good for?

Without armour u probs have less than 250def/mdef, with armour u probs have around that or more, the def/mdef in toram gets converted into physical resistance% and magic resistance%, u gain the most of those 2 at 250def etc, anything over that it converts less, like for the first 250def u get about 20% resistance and if u gain 750more def ud only get maybe an extra 7% maybe abit more, the refinement on shield/armour/additional gives 1% physical/magic/fractional resistance per 1 refine for a total of 45 if all 3 are +S(15), Gloria is an okay skill, but it does so little even for a tank, tho it does give u extra guard rate%, but its still an optional skill

You are prolly asking at wrong places if you heard that gloria is good for solo where did you ask about it earlier?
3x def doesnt mean you take 3x less damage.
E.g after 250points every 100def reduces damage by 1% so if you got 250def gloria would make it 750 but heres the thing.

Having 250def is equal to 20% reduction and 750def is equal to 25% reduction.
Thats a 5% difference so at most after using gloria you would take 6% less damage than without gloria.
Those moxiz do like 200+ damage so at most it would reduce damage by 12points. Now 12points is already less than the stability the thing got so you wont see any difference.

What you CAN use tho are the skills protection and aegis from shield tree. Protection gives +30% physical resistance and -15% magical resistance while aegis is vice versa. 30% physical resistance tho means direct 30% reduction so the moxiz earlier would be doing 60damage less where -12damage and where -60damage.

Please read my guide for further insight on how these stats work.
