Since most alchemists are used for the benefit of having a 3 lock, I'm gonna explain about the process to get one and everything in between. :)

An alchemist guide isn't so much in demand but there are many people with questions about them.

Here are other guides to alchemy:

@Kariin 's Player Crafted Pots Production List

    @Samm 's Player Synthesis Guide (v2.1)

Let's start off with what an alchemist is. An alchemist is an individual who practices the art of alchemy. Now what's alchemy? Alchemy, in short, is the magical process of transforming, creating, or combining material into something usually better.

In the game version, alchemists are used to make potions and next-tier ores. The potions are made to buff and heal players. The next-tier ores are made for blacksmiths to refine equipment. These items are crucial to any MMORPG.

    Terms and Vocabulary:

Tech - this is a personal stat available after leveling your character to 40. It's also used to increase difficulty level and success rate of the item made.

Difficulty Level - this is the difficulty of an item you can make. If your difficulty level is too low, you cannot make the item. If your difficulty level is too high, all made items will have a 100% success rate but you will not level up your proficiency level.

Proficiency Level - this is crucial as it levels up your difficulty. It also signifies your level as an alchemist. The higher the proficiency level, the higher the success rate is.

Success Rate - this is the amount rate of the item made.

Synthesizing - this is the process in which 2 equipment is combined to change the appearance, stats, and/or color.

    Things to know:

    1 Proficiency Level = 1 Difficulty Level

    2 Tech = 1 Difficulty Level

Higher difficulty level = higher success rate

    Proficiency Level 1-49 = 1 lock Synthesis

    Proficiency Level 50-99 = 2 lock Synthesis

    Proficiency Level 100-? = 3 lock Synthesis

    Top Skills:
    Novice's Bottle
    Craftsman's Bottle

    Middle Skills:
    Item Synthesis
    Mid-Class Synthesis

    Bottom Skills:
    Process Materials
    Synthesize Equipment

    image.png image.png image.png image.png image.png image.png

    Now for the guide part:

It's mandatory that you make a new character with no stat points distributed yet. Although, if you have skill points that you got from emblems, you may start leveling up skills from the alchemist skill tree. Since this character isn't a fighter and cannot level up on its own, it's best to become a leecher until you are able to level up from quests. These quests include:

    • Small Articles In The Temple
    - NPC: Lefina
    - Collect 30 Small Articles
    - Reward: Aristocrat Ring & 11k exp

    • The Overlooked Snack
    - NPC: Zono
    - Collect 12 Bitter Nuts
    - Reward: Porcelain Bow & 18k exp

    • Timber Shortage
    - NPC: Yunis
    - Collect 30 Nisel Wood
    - Reward: Water Staff & 10k exp

Its not recommended to level up from Magic Marionette Hearts because the required level is 40. Level 40 is just the right level to be an alchemist but you may need to level up a few more times later in the future.

At level 40, you should have saved up around 152 stat points and have already leveled up all of your alchemy skills to the max with some skill points left over. Since alchemists focus only on tech, all of the stat points will go to tech. This leaves us at difficulty 76. You may start leveling your proficiency now. The main material alchemists use is Medicine. Most of the items made by alchemists are Medicine. To level up your proficiency, start by making the highest tier of Revitas you can make. Revitas only need Flower Nectar and Medicine. This is recommended because Flower Nectar usually come mobs that also drop Medicine materials. These mobs include:

    • Kijimu in Athema Ruins
    • Pova in Lonogo Canyon

These mobs spawn in large numbers and in small areas. This means that in a short amount of time, a good party can get you a large amount of Medicine points and multiple stacks of Flower Nectar.

Once you're able to get to the next tier of Revitas, make them. The final tier of Revita is IV. This has been known to level up Proficiency Level to 86. You should be at around Difficulty Level 162. Stop here unless you want to make more Revitas to sell/use. The reason to make Revitas instead of other potions is because as of right now, Revita IV's have the highest difficulty in the game for alchemists. To level up your Proficiency Level more, make High-Purity Mithril. This is guaranteed to get your Proficiency Level to 100. Keep in mind that if your Difficulty Level is still too low, you can level up your character for more tech. I have mentioned that if your Difficulty Level is too high, you will not level up your Proficiency Level (refer to the term: Difficulty Level).

    Pros to having an Alchemist:

Portability - travel anywhere with your very own alchemist! No more walking to Sofya to make those Revitas that you need so much.

1 Main Material - Medicine! Most potions are made from Medicine. Although, they will need some other type of item to be made.

Special Pack - once you feel like your alchemist is becoming too plain, you can add some blacksmith skills! It's preferred to only level up the upgrading skill and the refining skill. Tech is only used for those 2 skills in blacksmith. Your very own equipment upgrader and refiner! It is also good to put in at least one skill point into "Create Equipment" so you can make your own equips to sell appearances without having to buy from others.

Synthesis - free synthesizing! Dye your equipment on your own and change the appearance of your equipment! All for free! No more paying over 1m spina just to dye.

Processing - process your own useless materials for free without the NPC! Success Rate is lower though.

    Cons to having an Alchemist:

Success Rate - not all items are made 100%. Only the ones made levels your Proficiency Level.

Variety - there is no variety to farming materials. Unless you get the 2 blacksmith tech skills, you're stuck with Medicine.

0 Kills - it's not made to be in battles. You'll die.

3-Lock - unfortunately, player synthesizing only locks 3, whereas the real alchemist of Sofya can lock 5 (with the exception of 50m spina).

Now that you know the basics, it's time to make your own!

    Things to confirm:

    • If your Difficulty Level is too high, can you use a reset book to lower it?
    • Actual Difficulty Level on Character Level 40 with Proficiency Level 0 after obtaining all stat point emblems.

Any and all corrections and information will be added

I killed my arms making this.

Uhm just a couple tips :
Put different sections in the spoiler tag. Especially the pictures. Makes navigation helluva lot easier.

You might want to add how alchemist can go tech bs on the side. Just get the upgrade equipment and refine equipment skill and level it up, good to go!

    Just curious...
Wouldn't it be better at the start to keep tech low instead of pumping all stat point into it? Because if the difficulty lvl is too high, u get less exp per craft, correct?

In this case, wouldn't it be better to just add enough tech, so u can start lvling up prof with the maximum exp gain?

Hence why I said to level up proficiency from the highest Revitas you can make :)

so its not absolutely necessary to pump all stat into tech right from the start?
because everyone tells me to do that, and i did, now i am stuck at prof 70 something / difficulty around 130
and revita IV don't give that much exp anymore
and mithil ore is hard to find

You're not exactly stuck if you still get exp. I'm still testing some theories that may help if your difficulty is too high though

You may need to level up the skills that unlocks the prof when you max it.. it's the top row of skills in alchemy tree
