I'm making a sword-fu(one handed sword+knuckle) character. My hp is 3700 and I'm level 79. I heard that sword-fu is a great build to quickly do solos. However,I keep on dying endlessly. So,even with a 4-member of the same level party,it takes me more than 10 minutes to defeat boss roga in nightmare mode. So,can anyone please tell me what I can do to increase my survival/decrease my boss-killing time?

You might want to give us some more details on your build (stats, skills, combos, equips). It would be a lot easier for us to help you if we new what we were dealing with.

Try lvling higher first before queing up for nm runs? I mean even nm roga sometimes requires a tank or someone with 12k+ hp to tank him while the other 3 pt members dps their way out. Or learn aggro changing system but doesnt work on solo runs. Just don't do nm roga

Nope and my combos also deal really low damage. So combos don't help much.

1H/Knuckle is known for its versatility and damage... the former more than the latter. Easy way to make boss runs faster is get specialized damage equips... or get some high level players to join your party. And don't get in the way of the tank by using skills with Flinch, Tumble, or Stun. Including Magic: Impact, unless you know the boss has the temporary resistance to Tumble. Help break parts because it lowers defensive stats as well...

Another is to take advantage of any and all mechanics you can access. From easy ones like Proration to the slightly more difficult ones like that War Cry from that spamming 2H user, and the harder ones like Armor Break inflicted by that allied Bow user...

That's for party play though. For soloing... only pick opponents you can take out on your own. Never bite off more than you can chew... and seems like Nightmare Roga is something you can't chew on your own. Make use of the disables you can access, memorize boss patterns... and take advantage of any and all mechanics.

Ok first stats, it's best to go full strength first then dex because str gives +1cdmg for ever 5str. Skills unless ur a mage or a magic hybrib build never put more than 1sp in mp charge and get triple kick. It's ur best DPS skill until t4 skills and it has bonus crit rate. Max out shell break and heavy smash, when SB proc it recovers 400 mp and boost dmg of heavy smash(boosted hs always crit) max out crit up, it gives +5 crit rate and +5 cdmg. Also take martial discipline it boost martial skills by 10%. I'd advise max astute it gives +25 critrate for 10sec and does ok dmg. Max trigger slash for ampr.
    An old school combo
    Astute>impact(save)>t.kick(smite)>shellbreak(consecutive) 1mp
    Impact>heavy smash(smite)>shell break(consecutive)
    Idk about gears
