How do blacksmiths live refiner life without losing their sanity lol

i think theres no such thing as coincidence or luck. theres only success and failure and in between be the experience you can gain from the outcome. its up to the person whether theyll learned from that experience and apply it if they decided to do it again next time

 

I have such a terrible luck when it comes to refining so i'll pass doing +s and stick to +b. I believe some people are just born lucky and some are terrible at it.
Farming and crafting mats seems kinda the safest way to earn spina. The money itself is not that big compared to high grade refine but multiple low price items can be a big sum later on.

 

Due to the fact toram probably only uses "pseudo-random" numbers, and not actual random numbers, i wonder what "seeds" toram uses for these, and if account information such as username/location/accountid/time affect the outcomes for refine and such. For me, refining at +B or even +A 80% of the time is... 5 hits later? degrade!

It’s true that random doesn’t exist on computers; there’s always an algorithm behind and there are only a few good ones. Abusing bad random number generators is a very common attack in the tech world. The data seeds @LilFoxie talked about are an important role in this. Sure this also applies to Toram too, but all i’ve seen so far from people’s experience here is superstition; no facts on the algorithm being used.

Im both a man of faith and science (am a software engineer); I know there’s an algorithm behind but I also believe in a greater power. Just like the others believe in superstition ‘facts’ they got from experience.

 

Yep the absence of consistent results on refining, definitive proof of supertitious facts, and the diffirences of patterns on failure and success can make anyone felt frustrated esp when the process is Spina consuming can draw many confuse from the closest factors that affects results. I refine just for fun. Many knows I'm even refining stuffs not worthy or just stupid useless refining. Maybe because I'm refining for so long I kinda grasped the closest factors that affects success and failure algo that appeared fairly consistent for me. I'm refining even I only have 500k Spina ending broke . Many even saying I'm rich and was accused of buying Spina before. When the truth is my Spina barely reaching 8 digits. And I don't have farmer mage too for easy and consistent Spina production.
Maybe I'm just very lucky after all.
I'm just refining here like how I'm always refining in iruna. In iruna there is a sorta ticket u can buy to see everyday fortune. What added stats boost for the day, what's lucky color, drop luck for the day, etc.

 

The luck itself is often undervalued by the ones that have it. That's why I prefer to buy +S gears rather than refine them myself. Accumulation of people's luck in form of commission board

 

My first refining experience went from +C to +9 (very bad luck).

 

Refining for me involves a lot of swearing. That'll keep you sane. ^_^

 

given that refining luck affects results. but what if there are signs you can observed when that luck is at play if you will pay attention, the right signs when you need to apply persistence. Reason why i never sell refine services because just relying on persistence alone (needs a lot of spina) can end up nowhere for so much refining resources. which is always the case for refiners. theyre forced to do it fast as soon as they get their orders and the faster they do it the good reputation they'll receive. im not trying rule out luck, what im trying to say is theres an algo behind that random luck. that theres a right time, right conditions, reason to be persistent. and since its one of the stuffs in game not in papers/code, it might be very hard to understand for many.
