at 6:15 (timestamp) he did something dat looks like flashstep... HOWWWWWW... cause it looked kewl and i wanna make a build surrounding it....

 

I think it's auto evasion, it moves your character sidewards if you evaded the enemy's attack but if you use dagger, you'll move backwards instead. I don't know if it still works like that, maybe it just works on enemy's normal attacks now (I'm not sure, I use manual evasion). If I remember correctly, auto evasion can now reach 100% (only 75% in the past).

It is a stat, but it can be enhanced by certain skills or by remodeling your armor to light or by equipping items that allow evasion (such as MD, Knuckles, or Dagger).

with the release of manual evasion, the old system was removed completely. if you set it to "auto", it will automatically negate damage while you are running towards a safe area, at the expense of evasion charges. unlike manual activated evasion it cannot avoid single target attacks, though.
