all physical/magic/element resistance stats and effects from gear and skills are added together.
the total physical/magic/element resistance is then divided in parts of maximum 50%, which are applied in order.

meaning if you have 100% resistance and would take 1000 damage, the 1st batch reduces the damage to 500 and then the next batch to 250.
so 100% resistance equals 75% damage reduction.

refinement is not resistance. it has it's own formula, just like defense, "reduce damage", Parry, Sanctuary and others.

I have 45% ressist from my equip.
    With aegis 30%
    And food buff 32 %
So my reduction should be 107% magic
    But i still took damage.
So the maximum is 75% thank you.

With this formula you need 200% resistance for 100% reduction :/

    Read through red_fox post again. With 200% total resist, you will have 4 block of 50%. So it will go :- 100% → 50% → 25% → 12.5% → 6.75%. Meaning, your effective resist is 93.25%

So, every 50% there will be another stage?
    Thank you for clarifying that.

and because of this, you can never reach 100%. it will always be 99,999... rounded down to 99% :p

Every -50% you'll receive double damage.
So -75% means around thrice damage.

-50% means 1.5x damage taken, -75% would be -50% then -25%, which results in 1.875x damage taken
BTW, if it works this way, 3 stacks of gsw on non-hb users (-210% phys/mag res) means ~5.57x damage taken, but I doubt it's the case.

Iirc it works something like this.
Your def applies first to reduce the dmg > Then physical /magical resistance applies > Then Your refine reduction > Then elemental resistance.
Like lez say if u have 0 def and you received attack of 1k and you have 30% phy resistance 30% refine reduction 50% elemental reduction
1k dropping to 700 on 1st step 700 dropping to 490 on 2nd step then 490 dropping to 245 on 3rd step so all in all you will receive damage regardless how high ur resistance is.
