I don't understand WHY C999 is the best for BG user ?

Everybody in this forums always talk about c999 is the best state for bowgun user
Every bowgun on border are C999
C999 = critical +9, critical damage +9, credit rate +9 (2 critical )

Sorry for my ignorance, I just don't understand
weapon + armor : you got 4 more critical point , 18 critical damage

My question is : all the critical / critical damage are depends on your persona ATK
if your personal ATK high, your critical damage will be high,
even some time you don't get critical during the combat
if you don't have any personal critical point, 9%critical only give you 2 critical point
if your personal critical point increase to 34 critical point, 9% critical still only give you 2 critical point .

My personal recommendation best state for weapon and armor
Weapon 52 pot = Atk 4%, Critical +9, Dex 1% (clean and easy 79% success )
Armor = Atk 4%, Critical 9 (not easy but it's worthy, best armor for 2H/ 1H/ DW, Brawler)

Because A4% at the present time have no upper limit
(weapon ATK, character level, define level will continue to increase)
Even you don't get critical during combat, your damage still pretty high (8% atk and +1% dex )
especially now everyone can define +C, +B is not difficult, +A/+S if you have enough luck with HP.hammer

For bowgun user, we can't never make it too 100% critical like 2H
especially for -25% critical penalty for sniper
why you chase for 4 more critical and 18 credit damage instant of 8% ATK and 1%dex
do you know, no critical =no critical damage
WHY waste your valuable spina on some weapon and armor doesn't make you stronger ?

atk% doesnt scale with refine level while cd flats do (cos crit damage scales with total atk)
atk% is stronger up to +E or +D but definitely not +C or +B
cd flats are extremely pot efficient --> 3pot/point
atk4%crit9dex1% is pretty good but say dex2%cd9crit9 or atk2%cd9crit9 definitely better

c999 is default easy to make and reliable so a lot of people use these

 

@jessy want to test your ATK%'s vs my C999 set? The results will clarify this.

It might not be easy though xD blacksmiths usually have the best gears in the game. I'm just a poor xtal hunter with donated gears. :3

You can say this if you have a guaranteed crit like triple kick, however I would change your atk% increase for dex or str % increase. Now, bg as bow lacks crit chance, snipe is a nuke, so what happens if that nuke crits? More damage, it sounds logical. There is a lot of details xd

 

^This is what I always figured.
When it comes to storm, it makes sense to increase damage since magic can't miss and storm hits multiple times rather than just once (Also, mages can't crit apparently).
When it comes to snipers, it'll all goes into one powerful hit, so you better make sure it's a critical hit.

 

As what I've read in some old thread, magic do actually crit(spell burst) if you have Concentrate from Battle skill. Anyone pls correction me w/this if im wrong cause im not really sure xD

 

good...then try to Roga or another Fire element boss and see what damage u can get ....

still it will be unwise choice if rely on Revolver...25 crit ( it's good but not affected to much ),and beside that stab is poor ( 25% ) i have Revolver too ( dont get me wrong i like this Gun too ) but if u used that in every boss...i wonder what will happend ,my opinion for now i stick with C999 ,but it i believe Element is the key ( for now we have 2 item that can be craft ) i the end i believe will be Element (awaken) +8% strong to.... or another stat ( depend on ur build )

 

once more.... if 168k at Pillar Golem ( of course every Gunner know how to make a great Damage on that Pillar ) ...so its standard
