Hello all I'm really new to the game. I'm level 75ish at this time.. I was wondering is there any point in leveling impact? I see it's used for combos due to the half mp of the next skill. I was thinking of using star gem shards.. after looking I dont think impact can be star gemmed.. can it? It's a lot of skill points to unlock the skill. Any help with a build or combo for a lv 75 player like me would be great. Thanks

Impact needs to be at skill level 7 for it to be casted instantly. Otherwise, you just cramped your combo.

You can make Impact from star gems, but it requires combining copies of the previous skill to level 10 to rank it up to the next skill, and from then the cost becomes astronomically egregious.

Most people get Impact regardless of skill point cost because that's how good it is. And it's not like we're that short on skill points in general. Half mp cost lets you extend combos with Swift tags for faster combos, or use multiply dps skills in a single combo. Proration is the biggest thing though.

If you want to forgo Impact, then you can use Smoke Dust as a Save tag solution: Moeba > Smoke Dust (Save) > Snipe (Smite) > Holy Fist (Swift)
Though Impact grants proration flexibility, so as you can see, your proration just got trashed.

With Impact, then you have a fair bit more proration flexibility: Moeba > Impact (Save) > Snipe (Smite) > Holy Fist (Cons)
And large scale tier 3 dps combos in general: Reflex > Smoke Dust (Save) > Arrow Rain (Smite) > War Cry (Cons) > Impact (Cons) > Snipe (Smite) > Holy Fist (Cons)

    1) It's fine to have Smoke Dust at skill level 1 for now, as a tier 3 player. It is really only used for the Save tag. Though if you want the solid accuracy buff, should max it out. Later, when you reach tier 4, you should have it to at least level 5 to get the next skill.

    2) There are 3 types of attacks: Physical Skills, Magic Skills, and Auto Attacks. Proration basically means if you don't switch it up, then the attack type you keep using gets weaker.

The combo: Moeba > Smoke Dust (Save) > Snipe (Smite) > Holy Fist (Swift), has 4 physical skills, so your physical prowess has been nerfed by a factor of 2 by the time you reach Snipe.
The combo: Moeba > Impact (Save) > Snipe (Smite) > Holy Fist (Cons), instead has 3 physical skills, so your physical prowess has been nerfed by a factor of just 1 by the time you reach Snipe. Now if you're close enough, then Impact may hit the enemy, meaning you mixed it up with a Magic skill, meaning your physical prowess has been nerfed by a factor of 0 by the time you hit Snipe.

Impact is great for any kind of damage dealer, only tanks that don't really need it as they mostly use save tag regardless of the damage penalty. As for stargems I don't think you need to invest on it for now. They could be really pricey especially if your purpose is to save some sp for your build. But you can use general purpose stargems such as process material, kick(for combo ender). They're relatively cheap. Some utility skills such as reflex(combo opener), recovery(ailments cure) are more pricey, but you only need a lvl 1 for the utility.
