well i am making my tank char.. I am sure that i will have the binding strike but i am hesitating if i also put guardian to my tank.. well i know what a guardian do and it is helpful somehow but as on my experience guardian only covers at its range therefore sword users halberd users and brawlers are most of the time. Most of chars now are mage and archers that is loved by aggro so much as in so much -_- ... can u help me out guys? :(:(:( thanks :)

Its ok (500 aggro for 3mp when maxed + stop ailment), but Berserk or Warcry are a bit better because they won't affect proration (or draw additional mob aggro, assuming you only do 1 dmg with toy hammer), plus warcry helps you with a more-rightfully-deserved support rank in boss pt. :)

Guardian isn't supposed to be used as a main aggro generator, as it doesnt generate aggro if re-casted without being connected to someone. But its a must-have skill for every tanks, or else you would get out aggro-ed by 2h users often. My take is, if you're not trying to save sp its okay to get binding strike, but guardian is a must

Also guardian reduces the damage taken by others inside the range by about 45%, adding sanctuary on top of that might further reduces 90% of it
edit: its actually not 3/4, that's the aggro reduction
another edit: it could reach -80% aggro reduction

I'll have binding strike, and rage sword.
But I'll also have guardian. WIth shield +C it's +27% guard rate. If shield +S it's +30 guard rate. Making it possible, along with heavy armor and heavy armor skills to get even most if not all of the lowest guard rate shields up to 90%guard rate (which is the cap for guard rate).
Every time ya guard, the damage is reduced by guard power. Guard rate affects the frequency of that guard power coming into play.
Even if guardian did nothing else... and only increased guard rate... it'd still be worth having.

There's also still very much largely the mentality that tanks should only do 1 dmg even with skills, have as much HP as possible, and never use any offensive skill.
Far as incoming magic damage I'll be at 100+ character stat resist (for both mag and phys).. and I'll still take that extra 35% reduction from guard power.
Regarding linear aoes I'll just say this: don't stand in the fire. lol

Circle of order +S, brigandine / lilemp armor with 25mag and phys resists at +C to +S, shield with refine +C to +S (all these refine levels are 1% character stat of mag, phys, AND frac RESIST - refining shield add arm is the only fractional resist in the game). So 100+ character stat of mag and phys resist is quite possible. Some comes from force and mag shield skills. Some from protection&aegis (which if both prot&aegis are used, mag and phys res both increase by 15 character stat)

There is diminishing returns on this to prevent actual 100% resist though. Otherwise everyone whether dps tank or heals would all get 100% actual mag and phys resist and turn the game into god mode where no character takes any damage lol.

The first 50 character stat fully applies. Second 50 applies at half rate. Third 50 applies at quarter rate.. so 100 character stat is actually 75% resist. And if really push one of the two (mag/phys) resists.. then 150 or darn close is possible, but neglects the other in the process. Assuming 150 char stat is obtained - that would be 87.5% actual resist but only on one of mag or phys resist

& phys/mag resist is only one part out of many involving mitigating incoming damage regardless of role..

You should prolly read that guide more thoroughly, The refinement from equips, and the resistance stats on gears/from skills are calculated separately
