Just created sword at blacksmith, it is super weak, what do?

Ok, so Im new to the game like most people, only been playing for two days, still figuring out the weapon making system. Went to the blacksmith and saw the "accordian fold sword" it was the lowest sword down on the list for one handed sword, so i figured (i didnt see the details button at first which displays their atk base) that it was the strongest sword you could make from that blacksmith. Boy was I wrong, atk base of 1. Now I'm beating myself up over spending so much time trying to get resources to build this stupid thing. I cant help wonder though that there is a catch. Is there a way to make it super strong or should I just not bother? Why would this sword require so many materials if it is super weak?

The stats are
Atk: 1
Atk MP recovery +3
Aggro +30% (what does this mean? is it like other games where it stands for aggravation of enemies?)

 

Yes, the aggro functions like other games. Basically it is a weapon for characters building tanks. If you want a decent starter sword hit up the goblins in the ruined temple and you should be able to obtain a Gladius pretty quickly and easily.

 

Not really going for a tank, so I should just forget about this weapon I suppose.

 

You can always throw it into your deposit and save it in case you need it down the road. It has a pretty cool design so you can synthesise its appearance maybe?
