magic skill>burst

does anyone else hate the fact that the cast speed for burst is soo long? even with max char and skill using staff with cspd ^ its still slow af.

 

If only the cast time is 4 secs instead of 8 secs and each stack still decrease the time by 1 sec then it would be one of the considerable dps skill.
Tho I dont know if there's someone that using it as the main skill rn

 

with 1k cspd (which you should have, if your char is capped) the cast time is 4s.
4 stacks make it instant. a simple opener-smite-cons combo using only magic skills provides 3 stacks already, impact before burst adds the 4th and it will activate instantly after just 1 combo use.

if your combo uses a non-magic skill (like a buff) as ender, you need 2 combos for instant cast or 1 combo for 1s cast.
simply using another combo that includes any magic skill (such as impact) can also provide the 3rd stack, or just use that combo 3 times.

 

Magic burst has different cast speed requirements based on cast speed.
1000: 4 magic skills
2500: 2 Magic skills
5000?+: 0 Magic skills

As it is with the game right now, it is easy to get 2500 CSPD. 1000 is enough however and numbers like 5000+ require xtals, buffs and what not.

If you can spam magic burst, it becomes an extremely good dps skill (outclassing even finale) making it such that mages are dps at end game only.

Don't get me wrong, with 510 INT finale's multipliers are going to become INSANE. But that's prob like 2-3 years later. Maybe even longer

 

Burst also scales with INT. and it's not like the multiplier is doubled. for most skills it's just a +1 with maxed stats.
but the skills that don't have scaling multipliers yet will be left behind. *cough*storm*cough*

 

Honestly, I feel burst works much better with magic hybrids, since much of the hybrids would spam impact>DPS(Smite) comboes to the point where they can use Burst without cast time. It's not exactly the best use of time, since if it is full DPS it is not really that much damage, but I like that fact you gain invincibility frames when it's cast.

 

Emm, I m using Burst as main skill, finale is too inconvenient to me. Burst is flexible and handy, although it consume more proration and has low penetration power. I got some post about burst already so maybe u cn check if interested

Apart from me, maybe Makoto? although i m not sure whether he will update his build soon. Nive chwan (she got toram utube channel) also got one but she has changed her focus on ktn. Another one should be Wimzi (also got utube and post here) although she also use finale. Kaisyl (got utube channel and post here also) also got burst mage but has been focus on magic bwg recently. Last one is called visco andrean (utube only), his build also good.

uhm, if instant cast, should be:
1.1k 4 stock
5.5k 2 stock
7.8k 1 stock
10k 0 stock

Thanks I was looking at it but when I calculated it my end result was off, then I watched a video and realized that I wasn’t taking levels and the enemies defenses into consideration
