More or less a newbie mage

Hey there o/,

I'm coming back to toram... I stopped playing 1 1/2 years ago. Atm I'm Lv115.
Mage was my first class and is also the character I'm doing mq on.

And now... I think u can guess it...
I have some questions...

At the time i played, i was a dps/storm arrow mage (INT/DEX). Meanwhile... I haven't a single arrow mage on yt or here in the forum. (Besides the guide i was following.)

What are the mage builds now?
I've seen finale mage(?) and Burst Mage(?).
And i think, i can't use either of these two... Cuz i don't have the lv for it...

Also... What are the best equips for it now (Gear+Xtals)?
I have some spina, i don't know if it's much now, but as i played, it was a good amount to have. (I have around 50mil... It would be nice, if i would know, how pricey the equip is.)
If it's possible to link me a guide or a yt vid i would be happy.

this is why all the "build guides" suck and no one is making them anymore.
buying orbs to reset your skills every time a new tier is released is not how you are supposed to play this game.

just continue as you did before.
when you reach lv150, learn Finale. it should be most effective for your build. (don't forget Sneak Attack)

depends on you. to each their own.

for magic, not much has changed on the playercraft market. the cap for %stats is still 7%.
the NPC has 6% now and there's a new quest that gives an arrow with cspd.

So i'll just go with my old guide (more or less).

 

People don't generally play as arrow mages because you don't need to make 1mp combos anymore. Impact>finale (smite)>ender combos are the best for dps because of how quickly builds can recover mp.

Since you don't have acces to finale, burst, or maximizer yet, I'd recommend using impact>lances/blast (smite)>ender since both of thise skills got buffed and now have a better dps than storm. Lances might be easier to use because its cast time is shorter.

Based on the damage you do with storm, I can assume you have around 4522 MATK. That would mean you should be able to do around 117k damage per lance and 220k with blast.

Yes, your equipment would be roughly the same. A spike shield could be a good option because of the +10% weapon attack, or you could wait until halloween to get a coffin shield for +30 MATK. You could also use a holy knife for +2% MATK.

For now, get either blast or lances depending on which one you prefer, and then when you unlock the level 4 skills, get finale and maximizer. You could make a burst mage when you unlock the level 4 skills, but that requires a lot of CSPD.

This is the angle I am going to take too. Even though we are "class less" my preference is to stay as true to a mage as much as possible. I think it depends on what you want as your gameplay and how you enjoy the game as to what you may wish to choose. Personally I prefer shorted combos in case I get a break in my combo, not fun charging up in a battle just because your combo didn't connect is imo, but that's just me.

 

Nice, I should look into playing with that. I have a few reset books of type to play with.

 

You can get the magic warrior book and take resonance for some extra mp recovery.

 

Well, I guess cspd is relevant now. I might switch to Chakra but finale's casting animation with MD looks cool

Everybody starts small. (I guess lol)

 

I currently use wcos and utilize resonance's hp cost to half the HP and get the max wcos mp return, but chakra's 30% damage reduction is pretty neat. I still prefer wcos over Chakra for mp recovery, though

 

only Javelin, Blast and Burst are affected by Long Range.

since you are using support auras, you will need it to hide aggro from Finale.
each level hides 1 skill, so lv2 is the minimum.
