Mushies fam

Hello
So uhm I use mushies fam as add gear on my mage cause the 7% matk and matk up (VIT), the problem is, i die after doing finale twice, cause it has recoil 1%.
Is there another good add gear alternative or a way to overcome that recoil problem?

Another question.
What's the point of refinement on add gear, or shield? I get flinched a lot, if i refine the shield, will i be harder to flinch?

 

I'm not really good with formulas and percents however I'll throw in couple things I use for fun, Ghost Zipper/PomPomSheep I think that's the name, I can only speak for myself though I've talked with other mages about some of those issues.
A friend on mine has guard skills she uses heavy armor and has i believe 7 into her first skill and then 10 into the second skill for the heavy armor, She says she does still get flinched here and there because her guard is more actively working she actually does guard very well against a lot.
Anyways, Sorry if that doesn't help pretty sure there's a few page's on different gears for mage's and different gears.

Magic Emblem, Zoe hat, Devil Hood,
Magic emblem has 7% matk, 6% anticipate, 5% absolute dodge
Zoe hat has 6% matk and 7% stab 7%
Devil hood has 5% matk 6% pierce 7% stab, but has 8% aggro

Refine on armor,add or shield will increase your phys+mag+frac resistance
Shield refine increase damage of Shield cannon also

I compared some of these gears and mushies still gives the most matk, so I'll stick to it for now

 

did you use the drop version?
the craft version has less recoil

 

I use the craft, but it still kills me after 2 finales
I have around 16k HP, finale does over 1m damage so i lose more than 10k HP after each finale, so I die from the second finale i cast.
But I have play dead and i plan to get a pet that revives me so I'll be able to manage
