Not all things you get are valuable, so either sell to npc or process them (use 'process material' skill under smith/alchemy skill trees, level 1 is enough)

sell it at the general store, or put it up for sale on the consignment board if it is a useful item/material.

when you are not in town, discard unnecessary weapon/gear drops.
they all take 1 slot each but a stack of other items holds more spina/material point value.

same for other items. if you have 1 piece of something, but will not get more because you are on another map now, discard those pieces to make space for what you are collecting.

storage is best used for ores, rare dyes, spare potions and other important stuff.
everything else can just be collected when needed and should be sold or processed otherwise.

the Process Materials skill is best used on a smith/synthesist character.
don't waste points by putting it on all your chars.
you can also process materials at the NPC smith/synthesis.

I use an alternate account and send away items that might be valuable, but doesn't have frequent/immediate use. Stuff like materials, anti-degradations, xtals, or event items for the appearances. Use orbs on storage expansion, always. My storage is mostly used to store useful untradable items and my characters, gears. I only keep 2 set of gears at a time on the inventory, 1 for a dps char, and 1 for my tank. Whenever I need to farm, I put them aside and get my farming gears to maximize the inventory slots.

Save point uses 10 bag spaces? Maybe you have different town save points at the same time? The only important save point is the general save point which lets you go back to previously visited town imo. You can sell them at the board at twice or trice the price sold at npc.

major town ports (Sofya, El Scaro, Hora) can be bought at general stores. just keep the last town and you can buy the others there.
ports to minor towns (Rugio, Garden, Einklang, Dikkit) can only be bought there, you might want to keep some if you have frequent buisness there.
ports to other maps can't be bought at all, keep some if you can.

have Save Point and the latest town in your bag, put the rest into storage.
you don't have to store ports of previous major towns, as you can just buy them at the store.
