Don't distrubute any stats until your lvl 40. Then select tech and put all stat points in the build.

you can't use an alc character to create equipment like armors or weapons. you use it to synthesize items like revitas etc. you need the mats and u need to get to the difficulty for it by first making practice revitas. and you need some points in tech before you can synthesize anything if i remember correctly.

Only a blacksmith can make equipments. The only thing alchemists can do is syth, process, and make items like potions and iron etc.

to make armor, you'd need a vit bs...meaning you'll need to add like xxx amt in VIT and the rest in TEC. Same goes with MD you'll need a INT BS. so xxx points in INT n the rest in TEC. The skill points you have in BS for an ALC is only good for refining or stating an equip. and full tech BS will only allow you to create failed armors/weapons, meaning you'll more than likely not get over the DEF or ATk and not enough Pots in it to stat that armor/weapon

alchemy skills are mostly unaffected by your stats.
blacksmith skills are greatly affected by your stats.
in both cases, your difficulty level determines your success rate, but for blacksmith crafting you can get additional ATK/DEF and potential on the crafted gear when you have the right stats for it.
INT for example, gives extra ATK and pot on Staffs and Magic Devices.
only with those extra points it is possible to make items that are better than the NPC version.
