Need help for master tonfa build

Hello,

I want to reset ma cap char to change to brawl.
I already prepare the eq

-master tonfa (pomie, the second not fix)
- vulcan shield
- eq fc 16 ornla
- shaved ice + yashiro
- machina ring + york + lalvada


I want to build brawl that can do solo, so im prefer shield as sub so in injury time i can use pdef to survive.

But i cant get some reference in Youtube for what skill i need, combo and gameplay, But for sure i want this char can do solo bossing or mini bossing.

Can somebody help me give reference?

Your current gear gives you 62% crit only. As a suggestion for 100% crit, you would also need:

1. Megiston Champ (weapon xtal): +15 crit
2. Bexiz (special xtal): +5 crit
3. Lvl 10 Crit Up skil: +5 crit
4. Friend's Lvl 6 Crit food: +14 crit

Other build ideas:

• Once you have 100% crit, your next worry is MP and MP recovery. Definitely max lvl 10 Decoy (but be mindful it has very limited range).
• For 100% interrupts, you only need lvl 6 smash (flinch), lvl 6 bash (stun) and lvl 10 sonic wave (tumble). Be mindful that certain bosses are sensitive to certain interrupts, so adapt accordingly. Also, the delay before you can interrupt a boss again (i.e. flinch a 2nd time) increases as you go up in boss difficulty (i.e. hard/nm/ult)
• Your typical dps combo would be Impact > Chariot/Rush (smite) > finale (smite). Experiment around, if you need a cheaper (but longer) combo. Warcry or Shell Break can be nice skills to use as a save tag
• Long Range passive on the Shot tree will boost the damage of Chariot (lvl 10 = +10%)
• 2nd Knux passive will also boosts all knux skill damage (Lvl 10 = +10%)
• Stats: Full AGI, then rest STR will be the strongest
• Pdef: I would keep this at level 1 only (because lvl 10 gives you a lot more aggro on each successful block)

Play around with it and enjoy! I vary my own combos/shortcuts a lot depending on the bosses i farm.

 

Critical rate is quiet lower, try to push it at least 80% critical foods, Battle Skill or Bexiz is a choice. Here to share my combo,

1MP spam combo : Reflex > Impact > Rush > Sbreak.
This combo is use to regen when MP is lower and have some damage in the same time. Another purpose is the 10% Motion speed to help me have more faster auto attack and skill used. First 2 combo is reflex and impact which can use when far away from boss, and to avoid accidents tumble boss.

4/5MP dps combo
Impct > Rush/Chariot > any ender skill.
Most combo dps skill, I use reflex as ender because I solo most of the time and try luck on 50% evasion( I use lil dagger ).

1MP lock skill
Smash > Sbreak > Bash > Swave
To lock the boss.

Oya, why you decide to use dagger?

It give more dmg?

 

It’s didnt give more damage, and the evasion just work fine only. 3 reason why I use dagger ..
First is I prefer manual dodge and read boss attack pattern. For my own, I will only use PDEF when boss casting unbreakable Huge AOE Skill, get stop ailment, stay close to boss or to regen HP. I agree on unbreakable skill, but due to I got recovery so stop ailment not a problem for me. Stay close to boss sound nice but recently most of the boss skill come with annoying ailment and deadly damage ( like amoeba machine) so i won’t purposely use PDEF Infront of boss. For regen HP unless I have LVl10 Pdef with 20K hp, else I think Bloodbite is better, but Both I didn’t use also due to SP not enough.

Second reason is I like to use throw dagger against those mob beside the boss like the annoying ball on Venena.

Third reason is....I don’t like it’s look like a turtle shell behind my character, same like some player not like wearing bikini or naked to fight boss..

 

True, that xtal is super expensive. It might be ok to settle for 86% crit only (i.e. have everything else apart from this xtal).

However, if you really need to get over 100% crit, you could always use Meikyo buff (on ktn tree), but it means you can't use impact...
Lvl 10 Meikyo = +40crit on the next skill used
I use it too for my Tonfa+MD build

 

On the contrary, I love carrying a coffin on my back all the time.

 

If you're going to use Tonfa. The only way to go is Knuck MD and use Meikyo and Maximizer. Otherwise you'll be spending too much spina.

 

For Masters Tonfa, it is really not recommended to use due to its -100% crit rate, it is better to use player stat knuckles at a7cd17c17cr17 with base atk of 170^ rather than Masters Tonfa. However, if by all means to use Masters Tonfa, you need to prepare yourself mentally that there will be a lot of white damage instances with the damage per second skill, chariot or rush.

You're totally free to make any comment you want. However i would challenge this.

Lately there's such an abundance of +crit options that it's fully possible to still get to 100 crit even with the -100% crit stat on the weapon. Also between a 170 knux w/ afc17 stats, it wont compare to masters tonfa because weapon atk is close to DOUBLE this and it still has 6% atk and 24 cdmg stats too.

Heck even my tonfa+md has just (theoretically, with the new Bexiz upgrade) reached 98% crit so I'm hoping for another +2crit on ava to reach 100% faster than when my crit food gets to lvl 7 (i.e. +18crit), OR i save enough spina to get a 2s shaved ice hat

 

FSIV, you as a brawler enthusiast since 2015, shouldn't be spewing stuffs that will antagonize you from the community.

The -100% crate is easy to negate and you will reap that tasty cdmg+24. A theory build maker like you can figure it out.

Though, I can't blame you. I myself spoke too soon about tonfa, and I'm having a hard time coping up with the damage using my non tonfa build.

Wait, calculated it wrong. With the new xtal upgrade and my lucky +4 crit avas, I'm still only at 94% crit on md+sub. That's still someway off from 100% without Vulcan shield...

At least buy megiston that cost 20M..

 

Ouch, did the price of megiston champ go up even more? I bought mine at 10.5m and thought it was already quite excessive

Anyways, if you don't have this xtal, then you can try my “affordable” build for tonfa.

 

Ye, that build is heaven sent for those who don't have the spinas to spend.

Easy. Meikyo as a work around for those who don't spinas to buy Megiston the champion.
